    Greatest penholder of all time. A real artist of table tennis. His style is unique.

    He is a master of side spin and good footwork.

      His coach said that xu xin's footwork is the same as the coach's when the coach was 30 and retired, which means the coach is not appreciating xu xin's footwork.

    • @dedalosikaros2161
      @dedalosikaros2161 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes,the coaches always press the athletes in order to be better.Anyway Xu Xin is spectacular.

    • @napliang6929
      @napliang6929 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      actually "cloud walking" was originally a mock from Liu guoliang, depicting the bouncing and not-steady and not-stable footwork.

    • @napliang6929
      @napliang6929 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      dedalos ikaros
      But despite the bad footwork, Liu was quite curious about why Xu can always catch and counterback the balls which seem impossible because of his shitty footwork.

    • @SomeRandomGuy777x
      @SomeRandomGuy777x  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I know :D However his footwork improved greatly after that.

    For all the non Chinese speakers, part of the phrase that the coaches used to say "cloud walking" literally means "slow walk" or more conversationally, a stroll or a saunter. Looks like "cloud walking" really wasn't meant to be a compliment!

    • @sy3934
      @sy3934 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      nah, cloud walking means he is not in hurry, always has time , and confident. you can find exactly behaved same way among Chinese leaders, they speak slow , no in hurry, that means confident, doing things in their own way!! yes , he maybe too slow to be the most competitive one in their team, but certainly the most entertaining one in the world.

    It's funny because Liu Guliang originally called him this as an insult of the way he bounced around with his footwork

    I have started to work a little on a second tribute to Xu Xin, although it's more like a part 2 of this one. It will be much more rally centered, due the fact there were a lot of very good rallies that I did not include in this one!

      @SomeRandomGuy777x  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      XtremeTableTennis Hehe, Ma Lin was very good, and would have a lot of videos for a compilation (although most would probs not be hd). But he has been a bit too grumpy for my taste the last couple-three years of his career. I'd probably end up using a couple bad moments too lolz, for puns.
      + I also have other names in thought like, Wang Hao, Wong Chun Ting, Joo Sae Hyuk, Ma Long and maybe Fan Zhendong. I know that if I made one of Ma Long, it would probably get even more views, lol.
      But, not sure if I'l get time for such. Studying now, so we'l see. :p

      But yes, the last one against Ma Long he lost lol.

    Who is the GOAT of table tennis? Sorry I'm new to it

    • @SomeRandomGuy777x
      @SomeRandomGuy777x  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +André Felipe That would probably be very individual and opinionated based on what you emphacise in accomplishments or who would be the best at their best performance.. The one most would mention would probably be Jan-Ove Waldner.
      Otherwise there is also (other) grand slam winners: Zhang Jike, Liu Guoliang and Kong Linghui. Wang Hao is perhaps the most unlucky player, loosing 3 olympic finals. Theoretically he could have been more legendary than the others if he had won all 3. Of the current once there is obviously also Ma Long, which only lack an Olympic title. (for grand slam)
      Otherwise current date prodigy, would be Fan Zhendong. (He has beaten Xu Xin the 3 last times they met, and they will play again to day at the Grand finals)
      Xu Xin is the current greatest penholder.
      And well yeah, if you're wondering about anything else, just ask. :L

    Hi Kaizoku can you please find out and tell me what blade and rubbers does Xu Xin use??
    Please I am so desperate to know.

    • @SomeRandomGuy777x
      @SomeRandomGuy777x  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Jeremy Tjia Aww, I didn't see this before now. Anyhow, he is officially using the blade: Stiga Intensity nct v however, I think he has a slightly custom one ("Xu Xin Intencity"). Not sure about how much of a difference it is. He's been using it since the plastic ball was announced. (If I remember correctly)
      Regards to his rubbers, his fh (black rubber) is obviously the Chinese national dhs rubber. I am 90% sure it's the "NEO Skyline 3 TG3" (blue sponge), he is using. For his bh I am less certain, but it is definitely not STIGA Calibra LT as some indicates. He was using Tenergy for a long while (not sure which, but has to be either 05 or 64 or 64)
      but somwhere in 2015 he got a hurricane 3, with custom sponge (many believe it's japanese sponge technology). He is probably still using that for bh. Though I am honestly not certain.
      Hard to keep track of these things. :v
      + His shoes was Mizuno Wave Drive 6 (dunno if upgraded to 7 :v) last time I checked. Just needed to add that too.
