I do believe that from time to time reacting to drama and giving perspectives as a bystander does get entertaining where we can all share our thoughts, although using animations that “clown” on the people in the drama makes it far more entertaining and i love that aspect of videos. Seeing the “hunting the whales” Mr Beast bits reminded me of a really dark improv bit I did one time at one of my group’s shows. Context: we have a game that caps off the show called Sign Language, where an interview happens and someone has to sign the interview. I was being interviewed on my expertise on humpback whales. It started off innocent enough with me describing my first experience seeing one with my father, but then a switch flipped in my head and I just thought “what if the whale lands on the boat and kills my dad?” So I roll with it and I basically start saying how I’m an expert in humpback whales because I’m hunting them to extinction to avenge my father. I went into detail on how I did so, including a mini-nuke harpoon that takes out a whole group of them. The interviewer asks “what are you gonna do when you’ve hunted the last one?” I said id take the bones of the last one, make a massive bonfire on the beach, then look out into the ocean and say “I hope I made you proud, Dad…”
