100%...he may be the poster boy for over-paid over-hyped cut-able or take-a-paycut players.
Trade him, but that team inherits the last year of his deal and a whopping cap hit of $36.4M - they'd have to re-negotiate that and extend him at a reasonable deal.
There is no difference for LA in cutting him (pre or post June 1) OR trading him (pre or post June 1) - in all cases the cap savings is the same $25.3M with a dead cap hit of a do-able $11M - which means unless he tears up the last year and is extended at a reasonable deal (they have $65M in cap space) he's likely gone BUT I could easily see some team willing to trade for him - edge rushers with 'potential' don't grow on trees

Marcus Williams is 100% getting cut this offseason as well. Ravens actually reworked his deal earlier this season, to make it a lot easier, dude fell off BAD this season, just looked slow, unwilling to tackle, and lost.

Why would the Lions get rid of Reader? They already barely got defensive line depth, and Levi Onwuzurike is most likely gonna be a free agent
True, and considering Aaron Glenn is the Jets HC, he's going to want to bring as many Lions players as he can, including Levi.
Reader only played 53% of defensive snaps not what you pay 8 million for I had big expectations and he did nothing and Levi had one good year that's it not got to break the bank on a guy who has only been healthy one year

Definitely surprised to see Koo on there. It seemed he was playing injured for most of this year even though he should've been on IR. I doubt that they'll cut him. They'll give him a chance to bounce back next year since he's been historically consistent.
True - I don't know, but if he was injured, they probably won't cut him. I remember a couple years ago Butker (KC) suffered the dreaded high ankle sprain on his non-kicking foot early on. They used a couple scrubs for a few weeks until he came back - too early - he obviously was NOT 100% and it showed. That offseason the 'experts' in KC insisted he'd be cut ... obviously they didn't. The year after that he was back to being one of the better kickers in football.

Tyler Lockett has a Real Estate Business in the Seattle area, and has hinted he may retire anyway.
Kupp and Lockett are in similar boats - both old, both being over-paid, neither worth what they'll cost in '25. And since the contract follows the player in a trade, I don't see anyone interested in taking over those huge contracts for guys who are badly under-performing their contracts. It's possible someone wants one of these guys desperately (NE has all WR4s...) they give up a 5th or 6th and see if he'll re-work his deal, but I think that's less likely. Both are popular players and cutting them lets them pick their teams.
Miller PRE-June 1 cut saves $8.4M BUT carries a $15.5M in 2025 dead cap. Post June 1 - save $17.4M but $6.3 dead cap in '25 and $9M in '26 so it's not without it's cost.
Hubbard stunk this year - 59 PFF... career low numbers but he's only 28.
Carr - cut now is $50M in dead cap for '25 and savings of $1.3M - then they're done w/ him. Post June 1 - save $30M DC '25 is $21.5M and $28.6M in 2026. Maybe they luck out and some team trades for him after June 1 if the Saints agree to eat some of his salary. Problem is he's at best an average QB, but could be a bridge to a 'franchise' QB
I'm a Bears fan I think they keep Demarcus Walker he's an overachiever and does a lot of the dirty work but new Defensive Coordinator Dennis Allen May wanna bring in his own guys

DeMarcus Walker plays inside and out...Austin Booker is strictly an outside rusher. Walker will probably stay but Gerald Everett will be cut for sure.

Cutting Lockett doesn't give extra players. Seattle is more than 20M over the salary cap. Lockett took a pay cut last year, I don't see him doing it a second year in a row.
