I love how at the beginning you were like “it’s a large duck, that’s ok, if it were a goose however…”, then as you progressed you start to realise how scary this Moby Duck is. 😂 I definitely suggest seeing if you can get to a gig to watch them live, you genuinely seem to really enjoy watching their videos for the channel, I’m sure you would have a blast being in the audience of a live show.
I love this song so much! It's so good! And yes, it's great live. And yes again, there's often some emotional whiplashes on their shows. Crying from Bones in the ocean one minut, laughing from Moby Duck another. Both of those tend to be on their set list. It's JD (lad on the right) who does the amazing quack. He leads the song nowadays, since Dave has left the band. There's a lyric video to the song as well, with illustrations made by members of their community. It's really good. Also, important question. Has Sally (or anyone else) mentioned that TLJ have announced an Australia tour for next year? Because they have, and you should absolutely go see them if you can! Check out the community page on their channel for more info. I've only seen them live once so far. I live in Sweden, and it's not exactly a place that many bands of TLJ's size can afford to come to. I managed to go to Oxford and see them in March though, and next year I'm gonna follow them on an entire mini-tour! Oh, I forgot. Male ducks are actually called drakes, so the lyrics are correct.
It so would... Going to my first Home Free concert and meeting the Longest Johns there, almost a year ago now, was such an incredible thing, but getting to see both of them performing would be very special.
I love seeing you enjoy TLJ so much! I think the crew in this song are wounded from previous encounters with Moby Duck - and this time they're out for revenge! And yes, JD does a very excellent quack!
Yes, their shows are that fun - seen them three times now, and I always come out of the show smiling. Thank you for another great reaction DJ - and I look forward to more...
You spoke of Sea Of Thieves they actually play that and board other players ships and sing them songs. Adam Chance while on tour with them for the couple weeks Robbie was having visa issues said it was a blast touring with them and judging by the fan cam videos from that time it looked like it was 😊
I hate to be the bearer of traumatic news but all DUCKS are also terrifying. They will chase you down and they snap at your legs taking bites out of you. And since ducks are usually hanging out with their buddies, you get swarmed and bitten, a lot! Mind all the barnyard fowl.
I wonder if there is a Karaoke-track for this that I could play in the background while the party sneaks up to the Nest of the Dreaded Lake Monster, just to be as astonished as King Arthur and his knights from Monty Python and the Holy Grail when they come to see the fearsome creature... "When you finally reach the small clearing in the reed thicket, the only living being you can make out is a white duck, sitting on its nest. It doesn't seem alarmed by your entrance." "You're kidding us. This - no! Just a duck? Ah, scrap it. I take my bow out and that bird is done for." "As soon as you nock your arrow, the duck stirs. Its eyes start glowing in a hellish red, and it opens a bill full of razor-sharp, shark-like teeth. From the bill then spills the mightiest QUACK you ever heard, capable of knocking you off your feet if you can't - yes, Reflex." "14. Makes for a 16, then." "21 altogether." "Lucky basterd. I only got an 8." "Altogether?!" "Yep. Dis Duck suck." "Okay. Well, Giriban, what about you?" "Sorry, my die rolled off the table. Geez. 14 altogether." "Well, not well. The mighty Moby Duck - " "Noo, you didn't!!" "Yes, I did. So, the Mighty Moby Duck quacks Harminster and Giriban straight off their feet, while Linnaya can barely catch Zinzin to prevent their fall. Harminster and Giriban soon discover why this part of the lake is such a good hiding place for the duck - there are weeds everywhere, and while your careful movement didn't disturb it much, your violent fall did. The underwater winders restrain you quickly, keeping your head below the waterline. The more you thrash, the more ensnared you become. Roll for initiative, please..."
@@june4976 I love this :D One thing though, if you want to follow the lyrics. Moby Duck is a mallard, so not a white duck. But of course it's completely up to you if you want to change that for the game.
@@alvpyrola I was only able to listen and I'm no native speaker, so the mallard eluded me :) But since Moby Dick was a white whale, I made Moby Duck a white duck. ^^
@@june4976 Yeah, it's totally understandable to not catch everything :) Especially bird names! I have the advantage of having watched the lyrics video as well, so I've had the lyrics served to me without any effort on my part. It's a very funny video btw, so I can recommend checking it out. It has lots of art made by The Longest Johns' community.
Oh and the chorus is just built on row row row your boat.

Can't wait to see them live for the first time in a couple weeks, also with Colm McGuinness

i wish i could go to a with-colm show. two wonderful acts!
glad you have fun! kind of bummed that colum chose the west coast swing to tag along, may have tried a little harder to go if he was tagged on.
Thanks DJ 😊
I went to their show yesterday, and can confirm that it is a very fun time 😊💕
Yep, saw them earlier this year, and I agree wholeheartedly!

Can you imagine these guys and Home Free on the same bill? (no pun intended - quack!) THAT would be an unforgettable experience 🎶🤣

Saw this guys in Arizona last year. They are super talented and absolutely hilarious. One of the best live music events I'd ever been to
"The Quacken" is hilarious 🤣
Man, nowI crave a collab between The Longest Johns and Alestorm with this song!

Sooner or later, you need to check out Ashes. Far and away my favorite song by these guys
Don't think Dave can ever top Bones in the Ocean
