I want them so badly to be used in an anime... It would be cool if it's the archetype used by the main rival, instead of badass dragons. It would keep things fresh.
I love my fur hire deck. i picked it up on a whim on Master duel once i ended up with Rafale one day and amde a deck with it. surprisingly, despite the weaknesses of it, Fur Hire is the deck that got me the most wins and acturally caused most of my opponents to surrender
@@satrioprime easily yeah it's not hard to get there anyway, just loses turns or duels to disruption but that happens to most decks. can definitely still make it
My first introduction to Fur hires was in duel links. They're nowhere near full power in that game, but can still pop off even against some tire 1 decks
Back when Duel Links first launched they were surprisingly bordering on Tier 0. It’s been years so I don’t remember what else was in the format besides maybe Vampires but i remember them being super busted.
So glad ya got to Fur Hire, love this archetype! Also god, id love training fur hire if not for the fact the little fur hire don't activate in the damage step, imagine if they did! The continuous trap giving you another replacement fur hire AND triggering the effects of stuff like Beat to replace it, Donpa or Recon to pop stuff, or Filo and Seal to recover the guy who just got whooped? What a world Fur Hire players would live in if that was the case
Another fun little spell to add could be “one for one”. Discard a monster fur hire to summon Filo from deck and immediately use Filo to get the discarded monster back. Plus it’s another way to summon, which is always great in a deck like fur hire that’s reliant on its normal summon
About two years ago I came back from a long Yu-Gi-Oh break. I realized the fur hire not long ago. Even if they are just Rogue I love the archetype. Even found a Facebook group for it a few days ago. I hope many join to exchange about the Deck
Aside from... certain reasons...I love the mechanics of this archetype, and the clever wordplay in the effect text. Also I need a Tri-Brigade + Fur Hire crossover fic yesterday.
Started playing a pure fur hire deck in MD and got a lot of fun matches with them. Yesterday got into a duel that went on for 20+ turns with a shadoll deck. Kept trading to the point where we were both down to less than a 1000 lp. Thanks to Sagitta I got the win.
Another card I'd recommend for consideration to slot in is Archnemesis Eschatos. At the price of banishing 3 monsters of different types (from grave or feild), you get a beat stick that can't be destroyed by card effects and can target specific types of monsters to destroy and then deny special summons of those types following. It can be quite useful in a deck like Fur Hire, as it is quite easy to summon (although its summon requirements also hinder its usability, since Fur Hires don't want their buddies banished)
Fur Hire needs a Misc for the deck. You are screwed if the effect negate your first summon. Other than that, I love the deck. Play it at locals sometimes when I don't mind losing, lol.
Main reason I run Reasoning for them. Perfect way to start fur hiring without burning the normal summon and if it does end up in the grave it still an extender if you can filo/seal.
Call me a furry if you want, but I love cards like these Fur Hire monsters! I also love Lunalights and Melefys because of how cute and powerful they look.
I would recommend Running I:P Masquereena, to make Folgo indestructible from card effect Destruction, and run stuff like Raigeki or Dark Hole (You would still get 1 Draw from Folgo's effect)
On tech picks, I always push Awakening of the Possessed. You have a full team of different elements, and the potential for up to 1800 attack to 6 monsters, and more likely 900 to 4. That's still enough to turn about half your hands into OTK levels of raw damage. Run Raigeki at 3 and you can do some insane steamroll plays.
Hot picks I use! Iiiiits a small world after all! With so many types, attributes, levels, and even varying attack and defence, you have no trouble searching for any special monster Fur Hire you need. Link apple: this one is just funny. He's either an upstart goblin or a free cyberse to go into folgo or linkuriboh. Costs a random extra deck monster but that's showbiz. Reasoning reasoning reasoning! The ONLY Fur Hire that has matching levels are Recon and Dompa. So you're almost guarenteed to find an extra help hand... provided they dont call 3 faster than a Phantom Knight enthusiast.
Along with Awakening of the Possessed, I also tend to run one or two copies of United We Stand. Have had many games where you go from an empty board to well over 12k raw damage. Add in some board wipes and cards like World Legacy Succession, Mayhem Fur Hire, and Rookie Fur Hire and you got high damage potential and good cycling and recovery. ROTA is a must to increase your chances of getting Beat fur sure and if you feel like it, adding Pot of Avarice can help keep things going on turns when you have big link plays. I'd run two I:P and then a complete arsenal of link monsters. Consider also using Underworld Goddess of the Closed World (end on I:P and two or more Fur Hires and/or Pankratops)and using it to purge huge threats if you go first, just make sure you have some way to regain momentum on your following turn. Called By the Grave can also stop first summon negates like Effect Veiler and adding Double Summon can help you normal summon a second time on your turn if your first summon gets negated and you can't stop it. I haven't tried doing this myself yet, but a buddy of mine also runs a few Mirror Forces and The Fang of Critias to get out Mirror Force Dragon to deter targeting.
Love fur hire! It was one of my very first archetypes I build coming back to the game, along with Rikka. It's a great deck to teach the game too without overwhelming new players.
At one point, I wanted to play Fur Hire. It honestly looks interesting. And Rafale, Champion Fur Hire, is dragon type. And someone I knew in summer camp had a copy of Rafale, Champion Fur Hire.
Having only know of this archetype through the naming controversy(Skyfang Brigade is still a better name), the deck looks fun...but a bit too fair for its own good. It can swarm pretty well...but doesn't have the crazy loops of Six Samurai. It has negation effects...that need a discard and don't destroy. It has a link monster that plusses you out the wazoo...but locks you out of a link-4 and you probably need one extra summon to get its full potential when you already burned a lot to get it out. It has a destiny draw and a field nuke... the former is worse than an instant search and the latter is more of a win more effect and doesn't let you close out the game. The art is nice and the name, while lesser, is a fun pun, but it is too honorable in a modern format that has none.
Factual its a good fun competitive deck that actually takes skill to be op just sucks that theres alot of cheese players which can make this archetype hard to play
They can pretty reliably put out 5 monster negates and a spell negate as they are great at making Appo so they can actually be a pretty brutal deck if you learn the combo lines. Important to have extenders like reasoning or rookie fur hire to replace the negated one to stop a single negate from ruining their day though.
Raphael, Champion Fur Hire, is dragon type. Also, same on the Dragon King part. (Even though I play a some non-dragon decks, and main Samurai Tribal in MTG.)
Ah my Fur-Hires are probably one of my best masterduel decks. They can pretty easily put out 5 monster negates and a spell negate on turn one while also having a pretty mean floodgate available. Truly a brutal deck especially since they play well with reasoning as they have such varied levels and even in the grave a fur hire can be used as an extender though it's great to have 2 furhires on field capable of special summoning if one gets negated. Learning when to Folgo with filo on field is just a delicious way to help extend your field and seal + helmer/ folgo is great card advantage as well helping you have that important furhire in hand for your spells or emergency 6th monster negate. Apollusa of course being a core extradeck card.
I have a love-hate relationship with the name "Fur Hire". On one hand, the pun is decently clever in emphasizing that they are mercenaries and that it extends to the card text is also kind of neat. But at the same time it makes their card text a little hard to read when you're used to how cards normally indicate an archetype and that they discarded the name Skyfang Brigade, which is such a cool name that it honestly feels like a crime to have not used it.
Instead of making almiraj and galant and running a bajillion bricks, you could just make relinquished anima and dugares to reborn formud skipper. Spellcaster+fiend+cyberse= Folgo. No bricks
So I just now rewatched the video and realized I made a mistake. I originally thought he was doing the combo with formud skipper, but that isn't the case. If you're just using exceed without skipper you'd still make Almiraj with your normal summon, but then you'd make dugares and reborn the monster used for almiraj's summon.
My first serious deck years ago, this furry fun deck. Pure or tri bri mix is pretty fun. Honestly, I also think that tri-brigade and fur hire have some kind of connections. Since between all of the decks. They work really well with tri-brigade. 😂
Fur Hire is a strong deck but it need more spell, trap and extra deck support to really compete in tournament play and casual play. As someone who bought a box on day one and fully build a fur hire deck with that said box and loves the fur hire archetype i got the impression that the deck wanted to turbo out and swarm the board but its being held back with the lack of spell, trap and extra deck support but knowing konimi they will never do it
Well, this archetype isn't realy strong at all, to be honest. It's not that the pieces themselves don't build a solid core, it's just that the deck is simply a worse deck than it's competitors. This isn't really based on needing more support, but fundamental flaws in it's gameplay. It needs lots of resources from your hand to keep your plays going since you have to special them. This means playing non-engine cards like handtraps actively decreases your power level, but playing without handtraps is a death sentence. There's simply no reason to play a middling deck like this, being a mashup of Tri-Brigade and Flundereeze, when both of these decks have a way easier time breaking through boards, running handtraps, playing through negation, and not needing their only normal to start off their combo (Flunder just gets another one).
Lmfao as I was listening the idea of plunder patrols makes me laugh like they would need help for a big bounty or to find a big treasure and they just go to like a tavern or something and starts hiring them lmfao the story telling you can make with fur hire lol
I can agree with Fandora. DON'T PLAY THIS AT ALL COST. Also I'm greedy furball that wants the +3. And I fully recommend you play as control with a hidden OTK. PLEASE GIVE THEM A LINK 1 THAT CAN BE USED AS LINK MATERIAL 🙏
