Hey great video, not sure if you have sorted your pipe out but you don't want to have it wrapping around like a cone it really needs to be a perfect tube with 1 straight line running from top to bottom, good luck with that lol. I switched to the pipe segments as i couldnt cope with the stress of it. There is a few videos on here showing you how to roll it but i think they lie 😀. Also i burnt my tent with wee holes from the chimney if the pip wasnt above the highest part of the tent.
😂 yes I’ve worked out where I went wrong there and looking forward to giving it another go. Perhaps might not be till next winter though as we are going into Spring/summer here now. Oh my gosh yes good advice about needing the chimney higher than the tent, I was so worried about that with my way too short chimney 😖

Hello from Indiana, USA! Just found your channel and absolutely loved watching this video. I appreciate how you show the honest ups and downs- even when the downs land you on your fanny. I think the way you film is especially encouraging to those who might be newer to camping in the wild and is clearly quite endearing to your viewers. I am also a female who loves the outdoors. And my sweet husband bought me a Pomoly Manta hot tent for Christmas. I recently camped in our first snowfall of the season and it was fantastic! I had no wood stove at that time (used a Buddy heater) and that went well. But have since ordered a Winnerwell Woodlander medium. It a stainless steel stove, so obviously not packable outside of a sled or vehicle. But thankfully I’ll only have pipe sections to assemble, rather than having to pre-form a continuous titanium sheet, which honestly was a big factor in my choice of Stainless vs. Titanium. I saw that Pomoly sells titanium pipe sections, but the $200 price tag was more than I could rationalize. I’m also told that regardless of stove types, the spark arrestor should be positioned above the top of the tent to prevent any rogue embers from falling onto the fabric. Just curious if Pomoly offered any guidelines in that respect. (?) Anyway, I so appreciate all the effort put forth in sharing you first hot tenting adventure! You’re truly cheerful, humble, personable and so fun to watch! Keep up the great content and have a blessed week!
Thank you for your lovely supportive words. I love your tips, thanks for that. I hope you have wonderful adventures in your tent. I hope your week is going well too. Cheers, Cathy
Hi Cathy excellent job to say that it is the first time you have used a hot tent keep the videos coming kindest regards to you and the family from Brian kestrel haulage UK 🇬🇧 again kindest regards
Hi Brian. Thank you so much. Absolutely, I will keep the videos coming. Two on edit right now, and many plans swirling through my head. Stay tuned. Thanks, Cathy.
Thank you for another fabulous video adventure! ❤️🙏🏻❤️ While I probably won’t try hot tenting, I can confirm that Frangelico in my hot chocolate is going to become a camping essential from this point forward, lol! What a yummy idea!
Well, it’s just so much better that normal people trying out new stuff, than experts do. Because most of the viewers are normal people! I loved it. Thank you so much 🤗
Lonewolf has mastered the art of rolling out those darn chimneys. I think you're a star and love how you compromise and get things done. Cheers and many more adventures in Mother Nature's vast and beautiful domain.
Hi there I had to subscribe you did an awesome job setting the tent for the first time keep up the great work from the UK 🇬🇧 enjoy the great outdoors ❤
I have the same tent. Shorten the guy out lines, and the angle to the ground to just a few feet out. Don’t crank on em, just snug em. Will clean up the look and pull the sides out nicely. Versus changing the complete shape of the tent with them pulled way out. Also they have a ground sheet on their site now. And the stove section fireproof material. Great addition to the tent helps separate the outside.
Good job happy to see you getting out doing what you want rather than just talking about it. Kent Survival is a great channel to watch for tips. He is an expert at hot tenting. Keep up the good work. Sending Love and Positivity Your Way ❤️🤙🏽
Thank you so much! I gratefully accept and appreciate that love and positivity you’ve sent. Helps a lot as I sit planning a very cold trip in the coming days 🥶 I need those positive vibes 😁
Love this one Cathy keep them coming, l live in the UK 🇬🇧 I'm 71 and would love to go camping but health is not that good. Love watching you and AB camping, new Zealand looks a wonderful place thanks Steve.
Thanks Steve. There is something very special about the way that camping engages you with your resilience and the wonder of the outdoors. I am glad you can come along with the likes of Tony and I even if you are unable to get out yourself.
This was fun to watch as always. Your "lets get it done" attitude is delightful. I'm not sure about that tent set up though. The layout of the stove forces you to other side of the tent just like you set it up, exposing that whole foot area to rain. I think that would be solved by putting the door opening on the stove side vs the bed side or by rotating the stove one panel towards the door allowing you to set up in the back. Needs a bit of a rework I think. Thanks for sharing your cheeriness
Hmmm yes, you have given me something to think about and play around with next time. The doors and stove position are set, but there are two doors, and I can orientate the inner tent differently. It's summer camping for me here now, but come winter I will try some things out. By the way, thanks for the uplifting compliment. Loved it. Cheers.
@@adventureot ....you just had to throw in the part that you're living in summer time. Man I live in Sunny San Diego....I'm usually the one throwing that hay. Enjoy your holidays.
I really enjoy your videos you show all the easy and the difficult so we get the whole experience. That hit tent is very cool. When you showed it at night from afar it looked like a rocket ship lol. Thanks for bringing us along ❤
kia ora! Hot tenting might be a new thing for NZ, I watch a lot of the content from the U.S.A. and Canada as well, how they do the hot tenting. I think it is cool to try, as in NZ we only camp in the Summer Really, and you are in the South Island it's much colder down there. and I love the cold, enjoyed this content, was really real...☺🤩 Thanks
Thanks so much. I think DOC are a bit anti woodstoves due to (as it says on their website) the way people dispose of hot ashes, so if you have to tramp into the back country before you can light one it makes it quite a mission. New Zealanders seem to love their huts with woodstoves for winter tramping and I think go with that option before trying a hot tent. It really was fun though. I love trying new things 😊
Yay, thanks for watching. And I am just about to sit down and edit another video. This time I am on top of a mountain and it is snowing. I am excited to share it, hopefully next weekend. Have a nice day.
Job very well done. Those tents do not look easy but you got there. Great video. I want to try hot tent camping one day as it looks warm and great for cooking.
1st time I have watched any of your videos Cathy. Good to see you just get on and do stuff and don't bother cutting out parts of your video your not good at and show us the problems you got building the tipi and stove. learning on the jobs I think is the best way to do camping . As long as you do it safely. Your dinner looked fantastic. Thanks for making the video. Loved it.
Hot tens seem interesting. We’ve camped all over the US for the past 20 years and we’ve never seen one. Love watching your camps and you’re not alone going in boot deep walking rocks. 🙂
I watch all the camping videos, as a camper myself It is good to see and pick up bits that help you. For instance you should have rolled this at home and had a test burn of your stove. That sets up the "memory" and makes it easier in doing the chimney pipe the next time. The thing is you have the middle tent support to help with rolling the chimney around, heyho you managed it, and your alone! I have never camped alone always with someone else.. I was considering the hussar I like the idea of it but a bit too heavy for back packing if you ask me.
Oh my word, amazing hiking with a hot tent and stove, well deserved tasty meal. It looked fantastic against the bush with smoke coming from the chimney. Thanks for sharing another inspiring adventure🏕
Great camp and something different. The tent is great. I watch a lot of videos with these hot tent and they make it look so easy when they set it up. So good to know it’s take some practice. You did a good job and it all worked that’s the main thing. Look forward to your next adventure wherever it may be. 🏕 ⛺️
First time you burn the stove and roll the pipe is the hardest. Once you burn the stove very hot, the rolled pipe will get memory and it will be easier to roll it from there on. For being the first time, you did great. Thank you for the videos…..blessings!
@@adventureot you can start diagonal but once are about a third, you can roll de rest straight; you will need to unroll it a bit so all the sheet will be straight. Remember to insert the rings as soon as you begin the roll and keep advancing them as go. You got it already…the rest will be easier….
It really was. I was so warm, but not too hot either. I let the fire go out before bed and it stayed snuggly warm in there. I think it was because my bedding had warmed up so my body heat wasn't used up warming up the bed.
Thanks! It’s summer here now but I’m keen to get it up again in winter if I can find some accessible snow that won’t take too long to hike up to. Not easy where I am but I’m up for the challenge!
That would have been interesting to know the temp difference. It was forecast to be -1degree celcius, and the rain froze, so that seems to be about right. In the tent it was very cosy and it was my first winter camp that the bed was warm to get into and I didn't have to wait for my body heat to warm the bag. That was the biggest thing I noticed.
I don't have a hot tent yet (I'm working on it tho) but I do have a hot stove with 90' elbows with my chimney and I use it under my tarp it works a dream, I prefer it to my portable fire pit. I try and find campsites with open fire rules so I can take it with me it's a comfort having warmth on a cold night. I also set it up in the backyard nxt to the bbq its great for leave no trace options too... thankyou for another great video trying something different. I did hav my chimney replaced for my hot stove I was weary the steel was too thin that came with the stove so I had a thick steel chimney made, I don't hike with mine so the extra weight of the new chimney is not an issue n I had it made in 2 parts so I cld use elbows. I also wrote a novel so that the ads play through and u get a small contribution towards ur channel. Thankyou once again for how much time you invest in your videos it is appreciated n I raise a glass of wine with you 😊
That sounds like a very smart and enjoyable stove set up you have! 🤣 Thanks for letting those pesky ads roll 👊 I appreciate the kind gesture as everything helps. 😁
Gosh, good on you Cathy for trying something different, carrying a 28kg backpack would be such a hard work, I sure would not be able to do so 😄. Enjoying my Sunday watching your video, thank you for sharing with us.
Great video, ive never seen a hot tent in use here. Might be a bit hot for me though, id be walking around in shorts and a singlet. Im amazed you carried that all in, i max out about 15kg.
This was another very interesting and enjoyable adventure Cathy. I am always enjoying the beautiful areas that you choose to camp in. Doing so with a hot tent just made it even more interesting. I have often considered trying out some hot tent camping myself in the past so I do love seeing it in action under different situations. I would have to say, it does appear to add a different dimension to camping for certain. Thanks as always for sharing your time with us. See you on the next one. Please give Indie a pat on her head for me.
Yes it was a different type of camping for sure. I can't see it becoming my go to style of camp, but it sure was fun for a change and I am sure I will use it again. It is getting warmer here though so it might be next winter.
The Hot Tent looked like a cosy way to camp in winter especially if bunking down for a few days. (pretty nice you were asked to test one) Your meal looked delicious too so checked out a recipe to try it myself. 😊Great video Cathy. Thanks for sharing this adventure - learning something new each time I watch one of your videos. Cheers.
Hey! Loved the video. Can't believe I didn't hear the slip of a swear word dealing with everything, well done. Bit of a bad design for the rain on your sleeping area, Maybe not designed for a bit warmer climates like ours where during the day it may rain and you want the door open. Overall pretty cool it's like a complete house with that fire. Oh maybe if the door folded up like an awning using trekking poles instead? Anyway. Thank you, Ray.
haha, maybe just good editing out of those swear words. Yes I think this tent would be at it's best when you want to stay completely out of the elements or wake to a clear day after a snowfall. Was fun to try though. Thanks Ray. Cathy
I did have a laugh when you arsed over half, no snow here in Mt Morgan Qld there’s days here when I wish we did , I don’t miss NZ weather especially this year it’s being a pain for all ,where’s Mutley lol
Glad to be able to entertain 😂 yes the NZ weather has dished out a few woes recently. Indi was hanging out on a farm running herself crazy and having fun.
Hi, My son and I hottent camp often and in as cold as -40 c here in Canada! You are the first woman I’ve seen on TH-cam that actually enjoys and films herself hot tent ( I know there are others but..) camping. So good on ya mate! Pomoly stove is a great stove, you did a nice job on the first roll as it’s not easy. Cheers!❤️🇨🇦
Thanks so much for the encouragement!! Oh boy, I can only image the sort of cold that you encounter. In New Zealand it doesn't get as cold as that, but our winters are often also wet and windy so you get the wind chill and the wet gear along with the moderate cold. Either way the hot tent is welcome, ha ha. One day I hope to experience some Northern Hemisphere winter camping.
@@adventureot Cool! And I want to visit New Zealand due to the fantastic nature and wildlife that is somewhat similar yet completely different from Scandinavia.
I’ve hunted down the Shakshuka. But it seems to be NZ made 🥲. I’ve seen videos of the rolled chimneys and they roll them from end to end. I’ll look for a video and post on here. Class videos by the way 👏🏻
Great camp, Cathy.. I'm very impressed with your first time hot tent camp, I may be very experienced now, but I will never forget my first time, and you did a lot better than I did.. pat n treat for Indy, yeah :-)
Thanks Vally, that is very kind of you to say so 😆 it was a bit of trial and error but great fun. Indi is curled up on her bean bag and says thanks for the treat $. I want to get her a fold up food and water bowl for taking up the mountains. Was up there a few days ago with her and am editing the video now. Agreat camp into the snow👍 ❄️ ⛺️ Have a great day, Cathy
Greetings from West Chester, OH - Great video Cathy. I don’t own a hot tent, I just watch a lot of videos like yours. The ones that have a rolled stove pipe hold the roll on the short side(wearing gloves) then fling it out and the long sides curls into a long pipe. Afterward, they slide the rings on. I’d suggest watching more videos(Kent Survival or Simon a Bloke in the Woods - both from the UK) or perhaps someone that uses a similar style of tent oven will give you a tip or two here on your channel. Cheers!
Ah ha. I think next time I will try and roll it straight across the short side and then yes I would say after it has some memory to it I could roll it out and it will curl into position. That sounds good.
I've not set up and used a hot tent either but I've seen a lot of videos. The ones that I've seen roll the pipe up lengthwise rather than diagonally. It seems to work for them but I don't know from experience. Hugs to Indi.
Thanks. Yes I am getting the impression that it should be rolled lengthways. Pomoly show it rolled diagonally in their instructions, but maybe that is just to get the metal pliable. Next time I am going to roll it the way you (and others) suggest.
I really enjoy looking at your videos. I think you’re amazing to do this alone and I love it cause you’re a female. Not a lot of female doing what you do. Louise Canada
I love that you try out amazing things. The hot tent looked so warm and I think you did a great job with setting it up. The only thing I was worried about was your little gas lamp. It looked a bit precariously balanced from where I was sitting. 😅 Can’t wait for your next adventure. 😊💞
Thanks so much Estelle. So glad you are looking forward to the next adventure. Me too 😆! I have one in the editing process and one I’m about to embark on. Lots more to come. Thank you for your support.
Really enjoyed the video! Hats off to you for trying something out that you’re not familiar with and letting us learn with you. I think hot tents definitely have their place if you’re into Winter camping. I had never heard of meal you made. Being an adventurous eater I will have to see if I can find it here in the States. See you next time!
Thank you! Yes I encourage you to give Shakshuka a go if you are open to different foods. It originates from North Africa and is delicious, in my opinion.
Before start building up the tent, start with the stove chimney, it should be rolled 90° and not diagonaly, use the middle pole as a guide and roll the chimney around it to make a tube 👍
With my experience of hot tenting based solely on watching various TH-cam channels, I would suggest that you follow your own advice and watch some TH-cam channels, especially with regards to the way you set up the chimney. My recommendation would be Lone Wolf 902, who is based in Nova Scotia in Canada. Having said that, it's great to see you trying new things, just like beginners to camping like myself have to do. I have been watching your videos for a while since Tony from AB Camping mentioned you. Another thing I like about your videos, as I also said in a comment to Abel & Victoria, is your Kiwi accent. As a Brit, the accent is really good, especially how you pronounce "E" as "I". It's probably something you don't even realise you do. Fortunately on this trip, you hadn't forgotten your pigs...(pegs). ❤
Gosh I’ve fallen behind in watching your adventures! Hats off to you Cathy carrying that monster load up a hill. What about next time rolling the chimney around the centre pole of the tent as a guide. Apparently they “learn” the shape if you give them a few hot burns and they get easier to roll. I think car camping with a hot tent is a better option for the lone camper. Btw. I learned in this video that men fall on their asses, but ladies fall on their camera equipment. Who knew? 😂
lol.... either way there is a reason I didn't show that fall, not very lady like at all, and a few expletives let out. I like the idea of rolling the chimney around the pole. That makes sense. Yes I think camping in a hot tent from a car base or being able to sled tow it somewhere in the snow is a better option than trying to carry it. Was worth it for me to get far enough into the hills that I couldn't be accused of lighting a fire where I shouldn't have. There was a local ranger in the carpark when I arrived back, so they do check.
I can not give you advice as in the US I am looking for technics and real videos with the Chaos here. Though I can't afford the tent your using, I enjoyed your video for being real, but a little bothered as being sponsored but this was the first video I watched. Good for you is my first thought, so thank you for the in depth explanations. I hope God Blesses you and be safe.
Thank you. I hear your sentiment regarding sponsorship etc. if it’s any concession (might not be) I don’t accept sponsorships and if a company offer me something free to try (as was the case here) I only do it on the condition I can say what I want and if I honestly and truly want and know I’ll use the product 😉. Thanks for watching. I hope you’ll enjoy the channel.
You are very nice and fantastic to follow. I follow another guy, if you know ABCamping also from New Zealand, but you seems more realistic and funny to follow, :) Im fare away from where you are , Im from sweden, we have summer now. Thanks for very nice video !
Hi great video . If you don’t mind I like to give you little tip . Bring a carbon monoxide detector when you use the hot tent 🏕️ . Just in case the seal o the pipe is not good . Great video
The chimney can be challenging. You were almost there, though! Once you have it rolled on an angle like you did, with the rings on, you just kind of shuffle it back and forth. You want it to un-twist so that it is rolled long-wise. Takes a bit of back and forth but you'll eventually see it straightening out. I really can't believe you got it to work like you did! Were it me, I'd pull out all the dead grass from under the woodstove. The little tabs for the chimney guy-lines also work as a stopper to prevent the cap from sealing off the chimney and smoking you out. The high-low guy-lines are great but I think you've just got them pulled too tight. You want stream lined angles and the lines are there for extra support in the wind. Also, if you're not set up on completely flat ground (tough to do in nature!) some bowing may happen but you can usually get it straightened out with a bit of fussing.
Meilleurs voeux, Cathy
Hope it helped. Wasn't meant as a criticism of yourself 😊 Just watching you struggling, I suddenly remembered seeing someone throwing the thing out on the ground!!!
Hi, love the videos. I was suggested to visit your page by Tony, at AB Camping. I have a question, do your children go camping with you too? That's pretty cool that you're a mom who goes camping like this! 😊
G'day, never been in a Hot tent so can't advise but looked like everything worked. I just hope you appreciate those of us subscribers who bend down and blow on our laptop screens to help get your fire going when it's being stubborn.
Oh thank you. I have used my $$ from you guys (ie super thanks and adds) to buy a little airmat pump that I can use to blow air on the fire, so when I use it it will really be you guys blowing on the fire, so thank you very much for your help (ha ha).
I like how you show you struggles and not an overly edited video.
Thanks, I try to be genuine so appreciate you mentioning that.
Yeah,, its really interesting and entertaining. Tq from Malaysia.
You should roll the chimney from side to side like you’re rolling up a tortilla shell. Don’t roll it like you did. It will come out right if you roll it side to side. The more you roll it like that the more it will be easier to roll it up. 👍
Thank you. I am sure you are spot on 👍 that seems to be what others are recommending too.

Thanks Denise. I have watched a bit of Lonewolf and will have to go back and see if I can find a video where he rolls the stove pipe.
Look about a year ago in his videos. He has branched out to vehicles and such these days.
Thanks will do

Hi, a great video, as @walkandcamp says, roll the sheet pipe from one long edge to the other. Do NOT spiral it. Hope this helps. Best regards, Chas.
Thanks Chas. I'm going to ace it next time. Cheers
Thanks again for a nice video you are a real camping lady..always give you a thumbs up..take now and be safe out there😊.

I really love watching your adventures. Makes me a tiny bit jealous !! But mainly just makes me happy ❤
I’m so glad 😌 (that it makes you happy of course 🤣)
Haha loved how you troubleshooted the tent cap😅 niiiice!
Thanks! 😁
Thanks for bringing us along ❤
lol yes it is a 'cool' but 'hot' tent. You are very welcome. Thanks for watching.
Thanks!
Thank you so much Daniel!! That is amazing 🤩
I DO REALLY LIKE WATCHING YOUR VIDS ...YOU ARE SO CIHLL AT IT ... THANK YOU FOR SHARING !!
Thank you so much. I appreciate that 🙂
Hello from Texas..I’m just starting my into backpacking journey…enjoyed your video..!!
Hi, that’s awesome. I really hope you have heaps and heaps of amazing journeys and memories from your adventures. 😊
Really interesting video Cathy. Thank you for all of your adventures. Stay Safe.
Thanks for watching! I appreciate the encouragement 😊
Thank you for a nice camping trip. God bless you. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks
Thank you so much Simon! I really appreciate it. Cathy
Thank you for the video
You're welcome
I'm just about to sit down to watch another great video, Cathy. 😊
Thanks so much.
Thanks
Thank you SO much!
Hello from California USA! Enjoy watching all your videos in the crazy weather with your dog Indy. You are a real trooper! Keep up the great vids!
Hi Tetsuman. Thanks so much for the support and encouragement.
the landscape, the accent, the effort made to produce a learning curve on new products. Very enjoyable video.
Thanks James, I appreciate that 🙂
1st time I have watched any of your videos Cathy.
Good to see you just get on and do stuff and don't bother cutting out parts of your video your not good at and show us the problems you got building the tipi and stove. learning on the jobs I think is the best way to do camping . As long as you do it safely.
Your dinner looked fantastic.
Thanks for making the video. Loved it.
So glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the encouragement.
Hot tens seem interesting. We’ve camped all over the US for the past 20 years and we’ve never seen one. Love watching your camps and you’re not alone going in boot deep walking rocks. 🙂
Thanks so much Patty.
I think it's a cool setup
Thank you very much.
I have the pomoly manta and the t-brick altay. And I'm going to set it up this weekend. I so excited. Like a child on Christmas Day.
Oh that is great, I am excited for you. Love new outdoors toys. Have fun.
Nice setup. A ground cover and a small trench around the tent would divert water. Glad to see you branching out.
Thank you, and yes that is a good idea.
Awesome set-up. Maybe roll the chimney around the centre pole to get the shape
Great idea. Thanks for watching.
wow a 'proper' stove! nice...
Thanks! 👍
Excellent job figuring out the hot tent!!! It was so cozy and such a great idea perfect for a week out camping. Thank you.
Thanks, yes I think it would be a great base for a longer trip.
Wow!!! Big challenge! Not sure I’d be willing to fiddle around with that!
It was a bit fiddly for me as a newbie but I guess it gets quicker and easier as you get more familiar with it. Thanks for watching.
Thanks yes I definitely wish I’d done that first 😊
Oh my word, amazing hiking with a hot tent and stove, well deserved tasty meal. It looked fantastic against the bush with smoke coming from the chimney. Thanks for sharing another inspiring adventure🏕
You are welcome. I had a great time.
Great camp and something different. The tent is great. I watch a lot of videos with these hot tent and they make it look so easy when they set it up. So good to know it’s take some practice. You did a good job and it all worked that’s the main thing. Look forward to your next adventure wherever it may be. 🏕 ⛺️
Thank you. Insider info, lol, the next camp is a fabulous one. I'm editing it now and it is lovely. Snow, yay.
We have the larger version it handles the wind great
That is good to know. Thanks for that.
First time you burn the stove and roll the pipe is the hardest. Once you burn the stove very hot, the rolled pipe will get memory and it will be easier to roll it from there on. For being the first time, you did great. Thank you for the videos…..blessings!
Thank you. I wondered about that. I would say the next roll will be easier, and I am going to try and roll it straighter rather than on the diagonal.
@@adventureot you can start diagonal but once are about a third, you can roll de rest straight; you will need to unroll it a bit so all the sheet will be straight. Remember to insert the rings as soon as you begin the roll and keep advancing them as go. You got it already…the rest will be easier….
Thank you that sounds doable 👍
Hallo Cathy deine Abenteuer gefallen mir immer sehr gut. Die Natur die man in deinen Videos bewundern kann ist unglaublich schön.
Vielen Dank fürs Zuschauen. Ich liebe es, diesen wunderschönen, besonderen Ort mit anderen zu teilen.
❤So beautiful camping video very nice love to see your beautiful video from fiji island. Good night take care beautiful ❤❤❤
Thank you
@@adventureot most welcome
Watching from Plymouth, Michigan. Great video.
Thanks for watching over there in Michigan Tim.
I like that so cosy😊
It really was. I was so warm, but not too hot either. I let the fire go out before bed and it stayed snuggly warm in there. I think it was because my bedding had warmed up so my body heat wasn't used up warming up the bed.
Absolutely loved watching it, you did a good job setting it up first time in the woods. Thanks for sharing your amazing adventures here
Thank you so much!!
Thanks for the video Cathy
You are so welcome
Lovely cosy camp, absolutely loved it. Poor Indie, she would have loved that stove !! Keep up the great work Cathy.
Oh yes she would have placed herself firmly in front of the stove, soaking up the heat 😂
Nice hot tent they get really hot I have the same one injoy
Thanks! It’s summer here now but I’m keen to get it up again in winter if I can find some accessible snow that won’t take too long to hike up to. Not easy where I am but I’m up for the challenge!
🎉 Well is great idea so we have a temp reading inside and out. We could use the stove in with your tarp ❤ thank again
Love your videos. That pack was massive. You handled it like a pro. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Teresa, much appreciated.
Love the little wood stove I want one lol thank you for updating us on Indi I always wonder when she's not with you thanks for the video
Me too, the little stove was so cute and so easy to use.
Another wonderful adventure, very enjoyable, but I hope you didn't have any injuries from your tumble. God bless you, Cathy. Thank you.
Thanks Linda. No luckily I fell onto my pack so I was cushioned 🙂
Love your camp!!
Thank you 🙂
Gosh, good on you Cathy for trying something different, carrying a 28kg backpack would be such a hard work, I sure would not be able to do so 😄. Enjoying my Sunday watching your video, thank you for sharing with us.
You are very welcome. Yes it was a bit much, I won't be carry those sorts of weights again in a hurry.
@@adventureot Hi Cathy, would like to send you something, is it possible to give me an address?? Ta.
Fantastic I Loved it
Thank you
Excellent video.
Thank you very much!
I'm thrilled to have found your channel. ❤🙏
Awwww, thanks so much😊 welcome
Great video, ive never seen a hot tent in use here. Might be a bit hot for me though, id be walking around in shorts and a singlet. Im amazed you carried that all in, i max out about 15kg.
Ha ha, yes it did get pretty toasty in there.
Cheers.
Oh yay that’s great you are trying Shakahuka 🤤 hopefully you like it. I’m so glad you enjoy the videos and get something from them. That’s awesome!
I enjoy watching your adventures. From Washington State.
Thank you so much. I am really glad to hear that.
Thanks Ray. Cathy
You can also use a smaller tent and sow in a stove jack. Cut s down on weight. Plenty of video's out there on how to do it.
Thanks!. Nice video you can carry way more than me. Will you be doing any more car camping trips?.
Thank you SO MUCH Allan. I think I will do another car camp sometime, but probably on route to something more adventurous so I get have a bit of both.
Your tent is what the Sami people (indigenous people of the North) call a lavvo. Greetings from Northern Norway!
Thank you for sharing that, and greetings back to you. Norway is absolutely on my list of places I just have to get to one day.
@@adventureot Cool! And I want to visit New Zealand due to the fantastic nature and wildlife that is somewhat similar yet completely different from Scandinavia.
Your camp is so cute
awhh, thanks.
I’ve hunted down the Shakshuka. But it seems to be NZ made 🥲. I’ve seen videos of the rolled chimneys and they roll them from end to end. I’ll look for a video and post on here. Class videos by the way 👏🏻
Thank you, would be great to see that video if you find a link. You might have to book a flight to NZ or North Africa for that Shakshuka 😆

Thank you 🙏🏻
Great camp, Cathy..
Thanks
We have a hot tent stove for our porch 🇨🇦
That sounds cosy.
Your adventures always look great
Thank you. I really appreciate you saying so.
Thank you Louise. I really appreciate that.
I love that you try out amazing things. The hot tent looked so warm and I think you did a great job with setting it up. The only thing I was worried about was your little gas lamp. It looked a bit precariously balanced from where I was sitting. 😅
Can’t wait for your next adventure.
Thanks, good advice, I will give that a go next time. Cheers
I have seen the way the sub above suggested..rolling it long ways not at an angle...you did amazing however...
Thank you 😊
With my experience of hot tenting based solely on watching various TH-cam channels, I would suggest that you follow your own advice and watch some TH-cam channels, especially with regards to the way you set up the chimney.
Great advice, thank you! And I’m glad I can entertain you with my accent 😂
That response I love
You are very nice and fantastic to follow. I follow another guy, if you know ABCamping also from New Zealand, but you seems more realistic and funny to follow, :) Im fare away from where you are , Im from sweden, we have summer now. Thanks for very nice video !
Thank you for watching and taking the time to say 'Hi'. I appreciate the encouragement/
Hi Cathy thanks for another great video :) you are so fit carrying all that weight in the wilderness, do you work out ?
Ha ha, yes a bit, although carrying all that weight and walking gives me a good excuse not to. I'm exhausted after that.
Hi great video . If you don’t mind I like to give you little tip . Bring a carbon monoxide detector when you use the hot tent 🏕️ . Just in case the seal o the pipe is not good . Great video
Thanks, that sounds like a very smart idea. I will get myself one of those if I'm going to do more hot tent camping. I appreciate the advice.
Hi, not sure how clean the surface of stove is, but I would've sliced bread in half and layed on top of stove to toast.
That crossed my mind too. I think after a clean and a couple of hot fires to burn anything off it I would use it as a hot plate. Good ideas.
That is really very helpful. Thank you so much for talking through that. I get everything you mean. Cheers.
Meilleurs voeux, Cathy
Hope it helped. Wasn't meant as a criticism of yourself 😊 Just watching you struggling, I suddenly remembered seeing someone throwing the thing out on the ground!!!
No worries! I definitely didn’t take it as a criticism. I really appreciated the time you took to suggest that video clip. Thank you 😊
Hi, love the videos. I was suggested to visit your page by Tony, at AB Camping. I have a question, do your children go camping with you too? That's pretty cool that you're a mom who goes camping like this! 😊
Thanks Austin. Yes they do from time to time, we try to get out as a family with other families a few times a year.
@@adventureot That's so neat! They probably love that you're so into it 😊
G'day, never been in a Hot tent so can't advise but looked like everything worked.
