I really like this. So relaxing and fun. Loose watercolor paintings are my favorite. Less stressful easy for beginners. ty for sharing. So bright n cheerful, just the right timing for this piece.
this was sooo much fun. I added a very light blue sky. I think next time I'll leave out the masking fluid. And I'm going to try it with a larger version. I look forward to hearing more about your process.
Love Love Love this gorgeous field of flowers, makes me so happy.🙂 Going to paint mine tomorrow.🌼🌸🌱🌿Thank you so very much Harriet, you are such a kind, informative & very talented teacher & friend.🙏♥️🐨🦘 Ps ♥️the looseness
@deWintoPaperCo This is soo beautiful, what a happy little piece. I'm watching you paint it for the second time, it's very therapeutic. You certainly will inspire so many to have a go with this one. Might even bust the paints out myself. I'm crocheting a mini Yip Yip martian from sesame street whilst I watch you at the moment. 😂 Love your videos, Harriet, they're so joyful and it's like spending time with a friend. 🤗
This was SO interesting and is so beautiful! One, to see you working loosely as opposed to your incredible, near-perfect renditions of flowers and animals. Two, to see this creation come to life under your brush. I wonder about the daisies - I think I was hoping for some delightful little white bits and the daisies got in the way (for me). Also, I was curious about the sky. The horizon evergreens are nearly obscured, and I was wondering about a pale blue wash, perhaps with clouds. I might try that myself. But overall, what a gorgeous meadow! I want it in my front yard! And I'm going to try it! Needless to add, I love your work.
Hi Miss H. I’ve tried the nail silicon paintbrush thingies. I use them for resin and they’re really good and glue and stuff comes right off of them. You might wanna look for silicon brushes maybe paint brushes it’s under nail stuff for the masking fluid.
Harriet this is my favorite,l enjoyed painting along with you.Its soooooooo pretty.🐨🦘🙏♥️ Ps Forgot to say l loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove it.😂
I love this loose style soooo much, but I find it’s very hard for me to paint. First of all I get really anxious about sooooo many elements, even though it’s just mainly dabbing. I notice I get tired and in the middle of painting I begin to slap whatever and of course it doesn’t look good 🤪
I love it! But now I have a dilemma… have just received your paint brush set (beautiful) and was planning to start “painting like Harriett” with your early detailed tutorials and now you are diverging into loose painting. I will not be surprised if you quickly get many new followers who only like it loose. I am very new to watercolor and attracted to every style and “anything flower”. Might need to try both… like you I am left-handed but surprisingly being able to paint with both hands, depending on the angle I need. Painting is a new skill to me and from experience I know that less dominant hand can be trained to do new things. As a child I learned how to crochet with my right hand because that was the only way my neighbor could teach me.
This is my FAVOURITE recent painting! So much fun to paint and I love the result. I hope you love it too!
It's the lack of control....
That meadow is absolutely splendid! So beautiful!
Thanks Barbara!
Love, love this loose painting. Thanks

Sounds like you can try all of these things out in your piece!
very pretty and loose

It’s about just taking one step at a time and trying to think about enjoying the process and not about the finished result. Keep trying x
Hey, I just have one question, what do I do if I don't have masking Fluid? Can I still do it or is that not possible?
Thanks!
You just wont be able to do the bits that require masking fluid.

Don’t worry I’ll always be returning to detail!
Why do I find loose painting scary! Primroses went in the bin, freesias hiding under everything else!!!
Haha mine won’t come out like this I can guarantee that
Yes you might be right but the more you try the better you will get
Absolutely delightful!
As a beginner I tried to follow along...I think I need to do a bit more practice my scrubbies don't look as cute and floral as yours :(
Keep trying and you will get there
Beautiful as ever Harriet @deWintonPaperCo. Looking forward to 23rd August!
