I'm on the fence with this one. I was able to get great use out of the $250 airline credit, so consider the $50/qtr a downgrade of sorts. I find myself really questioning the value of Diamond status, especially in the US. I'm not sure I will keep it at this point. Great review👍🏾

Our family owns a couple Hilton Timeshares. It’s a no brainer to keep this card. Our maintenance fees always trigger the resort credits. Now that’s increased to $400. Maintenance fees are also 14X. I’ll feel with the changes and added benefits, maybe we don’t really need the Platinum anymore.

Just caught this review. Many get the Aspire for the 180K HH sign up bonus worth $900. For year 1, with the $900, the free night certificate, and Diamond status, that’s a $1500 bang for your $550. The rewards for daily spending are awful and the $30K in spending for an additional free night is not worth it. It’s a card you have and put in your sock drawer. The Surpass is a great card. Combine it with a business card, annual fee for both combined is dirt cheap, $30,000 gets you 2 free night certificates, gold status (could move to Diamond with spend), and priority pass. Easy to offset the Surpass fee. Amex will have to do something more positive for people to keep this card. Considering downgrading it to.a second surpass.
