The reason they couldn’t do that is because gravity falls is a kids show and Rick and morty isn’t.

Since Rick and Morty is Warner Media and Gravity Falls is Disney. I think odds of them doing a real official crossover episode is super low. But Justin Roiland and Alex Hirsch are friends in IRL. So they do the voices together sometimes.

I feel like Ford was the one who helped Rick perfect his dimension gun.
As cool of an idea that is, think of it like this. Ford spent a bunch of time perfecting that portal, to the point where he had to have a demon help him create it. Even then, it's utterly massive and as far as I'm concerned, dangerous and unpredictable, especially with the gravity anomalies and whatnot. Ricks portal gun is small, compact, mobile, and can create instantaneous portals to anywhere with no anomalies whatsoever. Which was most likely the reason Stanford was holding the portal gun. He was astonished at Ricks work and Rick was explaining how it worked!

If you have watched the 5th season of Rick and Morty and seen the ending, it can possibly be way to finally bring Rick and Morty and Stan and Ford together to take on evil Morty
I know that in the Gravity Falls graphic novel that they released, which is a sort of continuation of the show, there is a part were the Pines go to the underworld, and there are memory vials that are being sold by a merchant. One of the vials says R. Sanchez.
Yeah it says Rick S. Which makes it more iffy, but it’s most definitely about Rick

You missed the Easter egg that never came to be, the guy in the rainbow shirt used to have half a code printed. The other half was supposed to appear in the gravity falls show, but it appeared later in other gf merch.
Fun Fact - Most of the voice actors in Rick and Morty were taken from Gravity Falls, and Vice Versa.

Honestly, I’d like to think that while Stanford was trapped in the portal, he was just in the Rick and Morty universe
4:15 right under the hawk’s wing and by the word dirty is the Muffin/explosion! The one Robbie would spray paint everywhere in Gravity Falls!
Maybe Robbie painted the bill cipher to remember the people who died in weirdmaggedon (only those who got turned to stone were changed)
In the Lost Legends comic book which I believe is canon, theres the Rick Sanchez memories in the paranormal black market. The way of erasing memories in both shows is quite similar
in the beginning of the book there’s a code that says the book is only canon-ish. which i interpreted to be mostly canon, but alex can’t just give us things because he’s alex 😂 also in the mabel dimension from that book there’s a morty mabel, along with several other crossover mabels

@Emergency Awesome There's a Gravity Falls book called "Gravity Falls Lost Legends", and in one of the stories within there's a guy in the "Ghost Underworld" running a booth that sells lost memories. One of the memory vials on his stand says "Rick S."
Which I think is really cool, considering we've also seen the Stanford memory vial.
Maybe Standford is from outside of the central finite curve, since his portal was more special since it could not only travel through space, it made it possible to travel from the second to the tird dimension, maybe it allowed stanfort to enter the central finite curve
i think it's more likely that the gravity falls universe is already within the central finite curve as a lot of the tech that ford and mcgucket made seems to be less reliable versions of rick's tech. bill destroyed his original 2nd dimension and got stuck between dimensions after. he was going to travel to the 3rd dimension from the mindscape. and rick's portal gun isn't just for travelling through space either, him and morty use it to travel to other dimensions too.

Just watched the season 5 finale, and since the Central finite curve blocks all other universes does that mean in Gravity falls there's a Rick there? Because the finite curve only allows the dimensions where rick is the smartest

You know, given the whole debacle with Evil Morty and the Citadel being destroyed, one wonders whether or not Stanford managed to meet Rick from inside or outside the Central Finite Curve. Because if he's from outside of it, there is a whole lot of questions I have, and if he's from inside it, I wanna know where the Rick from the Gravity Falls universe was during the timeframe of the show.

I watched both seasons the day they aired. I absolutely love them and I've been dying for them to actually cross over. Both creators were actually going to at one point, but plans changed cause their friends (third show creator, don't remember his name) show didn't get picked up by Fox or AS for a pilot season.

The Stanford Pines Rick you were talking about. Depending on which Rick you were talking about I’m pretty sure it was either a reference to Blade Runner or Doctor Who
We either need a season 3 of gravity falls or a crossover episode between gravity falls and Rick and Morty
actually the mc esher dream palace at 5:11 is a whole refference of it's own. in the realeased journal 3 there is a page when stanford gets back to gravity falls and starts writting in the journal again, he talks about how he faught bill in the nightmare realm and was chased through that same thing. I have read the journal cover to cover and translated all the cyphers by hand. (yes im a nerd shhh)
I think we will see A huge crossover between Gravity falls and Rick & morty in future seasons. In which the old gang will be together and will finally face the bill cypher. I think on their adventure they have already encountered and defeated him once. And they will come together again to defeat bill cypher once and for all. So that's my theory of the cross over.
