How Officials Allegedly Stole Billions in India's Biggest Mobile Network Scam | The Big Steal

  • On April 2, 2011, 7 steel trucks pulled into one of New Delhi's courts. The trucks contained an 80,000-page long chargesheet drawn up by India’s Central Bureau of Investigation that implicated a cohort of high-ranking ministers, several government officials and the who’s who of India’s business world in one of the biggest ‘ghotala’, or scam, the country had ever seen - the 2G spectrum allocation.
This is the story of how India’s rich and powerful got away with alleged corruption and a criminal conspiracy worth billions.

In fact, there is no evidence or any new findings mentioned in this video. It just opens with the statement that Raja and others were culprits.
Not to mention, A. Raja has proved in Trial court that there was no loss or quid co pro taken place. If someone really wants to challenge this, please deposit an evidence in Supreme court and from then, this can be resumed.

That 1.76 Lakh Crore number is kinda suspect. CAG took all kinds of liberties and projecting that number.

How come The vice knows better than the Courts? What expertise they have in providing judgement? Did they read the whole 80,000 pages of charge-sheet? They didn't even used the word 'Alleged Scam" even once. This is called media trial. Can be seen in Indian media too these days.

The fact that since BJP came to power these types of scams have gone down considerably in itself says a lot about UPA and NDA.

VICE's research is really pathetic about the topic. VICE should do some work to get to know the Government of India's policy under which these allocation were made prior to these so called "SCAMS'. Natural resources were always allotted by the government by criteria's laid down by respective expert committee or ministry. The then P.M. Manmohan Singh was of the view that resources should be auctioned but the policy had been accepted by every successive government. A sudden change of policy can't be done in Indian political system until a consensus is reached across most of the parties.
