- On April 2, 2011, 7 steel trucks pulled into one of New Delhi's courts. The trucks contained an 80,000-page long chargesheet drawn up by India’s Central Bureau of Investigation that implicated a cohort of high-ranking ministers, several government officials and the who’s who of India’s business world in one of the biggest ‘ghotala’, or scam, the country had ever seen - the 2G spectrum allocation.
This is the story of how India’s rich and powerful got away with alleged corruption and a criminal conspiracy worth billions.

If 2G was rolled out properly and fairly it would have given a huge boost to Indian Economy. Until Jio came the internet was a luxury costing Rs 150-200/GB 2G to Rs250-350/GB in 3G connections.

It's not a judiciary problem. Judiciary is meant to interpret laws. The laws regarding procurement at the time the scams took place were very poor. The modern anti corruption regulations regarding tenders and procurements were not there at the time. So even though it was clearly visible that a large scam had taken place, you can't charge them because they were very careful and didn't do anything illegal in which they might be caught.

When the CBI raids were still going, there was an article About a minister(telecom related, I don't remember who), while the whole India was paying ₹300-500 a month for 3G, He had the best broadband connection with best hardware (costliest available) all out of public. money.

The amount of money scammed is equivalent to the total infrastructure investment of the CPEC in Pakistan for the OBOR project.
CPEC is a scam too , the loans are on a high interest rate with all people and materials from China . The only way pakistan can pay it back is if somehow the gwadar port and the infrastructure leads to sudden growth to let them pay back.

Technically, if this video was released by an Indian media, it would have been subjected to Contempt of court. I think, someone who badly want to blow this outdated 2G balloon, using this channel as a safe weapon.

So many factual inaccuracies in the video with a complete lack of knowledge about the issue. For example, the Exchequer didn't release the report. It was the CAG, an independent auditor for the federal government, who estimated the potential loss using a method that has been rejected by the courts.
What else do you expect from Vice? They didn't even used the word 'Alleged Scam" even once. This is called media trial my brother. Can be seen in India media too these days.
That there was corruption and that government officials, brokers and private individuals illicitly gained money from the 2G fiasco, is undeniable. Corruption is corruption, like stealing. VICE's research is really pathetic about the topic. VICE should do some work to get to know the Government of India's policy under which these allocation were made prior to these so called "SCAMS'. Natural resources were always allotted by the government by criteria's laid down by respective expert committee or ministry. The then P.M. Manmohan Singh was of the view that resources should be auctioned but the policy had been accepted by every successive government. A sudden change of policy can't be done in Indian political system until a consensus is reached across most of the parties.
But that's the thing right, A consensus cant be reached when Hamam Mein Sbhi Nange Ho.

LOL UPA Govt never penalized Big Corporates and always turned blind eye to them. They have been only penalized when NDA came to power. Even Mukesh Ambani's side Reliance has been fined thrice since 2014.
