This video is everything! I am black/latina with fine curly hair. Ive had natural, real locs before but now I see how I can achieve this look fairly simply without pulling on my scalp too much. Thanj you so. so much for making this.. Your method is BOMB.
During COVID I have been experimenting with my daughters hair. She wanted this style and I had no idea how to do it. I watched several videos using the crochet needle to pull the ends through and that technique sucks. This video is by far THE BEST tutorial I’ve seen for this technique. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I know you posted this a year ago but it’s still helpful to this day. Great work!
Girl what the hell I had no idea all you had to to was untwist and twist at the same time. Everyone only shows them using to needle to get the hair through the middle. I swear you are like a magician or something to me
Yes I tried to do the needle in the middle of the loc method as well the first two times and it was an epic fail. I couldn't completely hide the braids within the lockand it just made it more time-consuming. But yes un-twisting and then twisting, is great but the resl question is how to keep the braids inside the loc for the duration of the style... the braid seems to always work it's way out the side of the loc.... (sigh)
YES!!! 😍 Can you do an update video on how long they last, please?💖 it came out beautiful💕 you go girl💝. This is better than using breading hair to cover up by wrapping it around each plat. Your method is so much easier for fine hair because I was beginning to lose hope for my hair. Thank God for you🌹
Wow! Just wow! This the best faux loc video I have ever watched. I was dreading doing my own hair because of the length. It has grown so much and is now mid back. Also placing the bands at the ends is a great idea. Thanks for sharing ❤️
Omg! The video angles is the business! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾! Love the detailed instructions and this style is perfect! Thanks for sharing! Keep up the excellent work👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😊
This is beautiful, I have been looking for a tutorial for things like Box braids or locs but for somewhat straight hair. I am Hispanic as well but my Cuban side gives me a very straight silk hair style and I never knew how to grip the root after having cut my hair. This isn't necessarily short hair but it is an amazing tutorial for someone with straight hair. Thank you
I'm hispanic but white complected and i've been craving to do a look like this for multiple reasons but it makes me nervous how judgemental people are and I find it amazing how stylist like yourself don't mind and style anyone with respect and love to these types of styles.
Forget people ! .. People will always talk ... Love yourself sis and get whatever makes you happy .. I wear straight hair and im a black queen .. I had dread locks .. Who cares live lifee .
Andrea rock any style you like. Rock it with confidence and style and to hell with the naysayers. Do you! As I travel the world over, I find that people of all races and complexions rock locks.
Enjoy your hair however you like! 🤗 People all over the world been doing beautiful things with their hair for thousands of years, I love seeing all kinds of beautiful hairstyles on all kinds of women. ✌🏿 ✌🏽 ✌🏻
All these comments give me confidence 🙈 I been having the same issue. Really wanting this style but afraid of judgement since I’m also a light skinned latina.
The way u hide the braid is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much easier than tryna pull it thru. And sometimes parts of the braid still show. But this way is awesome. Thank you!
This is what I needed!!! I am mixed with 3a hair and I was utterly convinced that my hair was not textured enough to try and install these. Thanks! Subscribed!
Whoa;)...This. Is. The. Best. Video-filming & editing. Ever. PERIODTTTT! I said to myself, 'does she have on a head lens? Neck strap? Hat lens?' Great angles for the observer to catch every move. Live how you commanded that head forward with a soft fingertip push forward!
Giiiiiiirl you are the truth!!! I wanted to put dreads in but everyone else’s methods was a lil to complicated. Thank you so much for the tutorial!!! Dreads here I come!!!
ALL of the other tutorials need to be taken down this by far is the best and looks the neatest and seems to be the easiest thank you so much...from HOUSTON!!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥 bihhh!!!!!
Thank you! This is the easiest method I’ve seen. I’ve never tried these but they are really pretty, I want to try something different this summer. Thank you for showing your skills!!
This video was everything 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 I was dreading to do this style because of how time consuming I heard & saw it can be but giirrlll u murdered this tutorial !!
Thank you for this. I have been stressed\\ing every time I do my hair because it's such a struggle to pull the hair through and THIS WHOLE DAMN TIME I could have just been unravelling the loc. WOW
Hey Miss Shantel may I say That You Are Everything and Then Some. You inspire me never to Stop doing Hair Or Giving Up No Matter What Thanks For Your Videos 🥰 💋
Gurl you just made my life so much easier. I thought I was going to spazz out trying to put that needle thing through the hair. All I have to do is twist. I cant wait to try my hair.
Thanks for showing a way to fuse the natural hair with the loc without using the crochet needle! I hate when people bunch up the loc to pull hair through, lol
Seems like nobody in my area knows how to do these the way I like them. Although maybe a little longer for me to do my self but you made it look so simple I'm about to slay my own hair 😂 thanks for being so detail and doing this video with this type of hair because now I know it's not because of my hair texture.
I appreciate this video. I'm mixed and have a weird wavy silky hair type and could not find a good video showing how to do these in my hair. I just started using the crochet method when I learned to do box braids in my own hair.
Do you have any tips for this style once it's been installed. I've done the same technique that you're using. I've even added braiding hair to create the plait for a more secure base. And within a day or two days the braids starts to work its way out of the side of the loc.... I've tried burning the ends of the braiding hair the kind of create like a Velcro effect.... I tried putting rubber bands on the end of the braids hoping that would help keep it inside of the loc longer.... but nothing works... smh
Watching this years later and I’m so mad I spent HOURS using the needle when I could easily twist my hair in the loc 🫠 I also have thin soft silky hair and braids don’t last on me but I’ll give this one a try for sure!! ❤️❤️ amazing work
Thank you for this video. My hair is so thin and fine I wasn’t sure how I was gonna be able to get my hair done in this style. I seen you also used rubber bands. This is great
That is a beautiful do! I would like mine that way even before you got to the locks. Your boxes remind me of the bricks in an igloo. 😁 And great choice of music! Better than any video I've ever watched!
OMG, I love the close-up to your video! I will be doing my own hair and saving some money! This video is amazing! New Subie and Supporter 👍☺️💯🌟✨🌟🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Very neat and pretty! Only thing I would ask if you were to do mine is not leave so much hair out on my sides since my hair is super curly. I'd use a jar of gorilla glue a week to lay them back down. Your parts were definitely on point!! 😊
You did an amazing job. I have been looking for a braid or crochet style to camouflage my ends hat inevitably end up poking out. I'm not sure I want a faux loc look, do you know of any other style that can hide my ends inside (individual braids). Have you tried pixel or 3D braids?
This is so genius! I didn’t expect the wrapping process to go in that direction but that really just altered my perspective. I’ll definitely be watching this when I do my own locs. Thank you!
You're the real MVP for getting straight to the point of the video without all the unnecessary talking👏👏👏
You get the point
This is the easiest I have seen so far. Thank you so much. That close up made a world of difference.
This video is everything! I am black/latina with fine curly hair. Ive had natural, real locs before but now I see how I can achieve this look fairly simply without pulling on my scalp too much. Thanj you so. so much for making this.. Your method is BOMB.
Plz am a hair dresser I want to come there
Girl same!
You murdered it and the extra close zoom was everything!!!
I love how you got straight to the point and didn't talk it through so it didn't take a long time. Perfect lighting also. Beautiful job!
My life will never be the same because of you! 😿 Now I know the tips and tricks! Im finna act A FOOL!! 😝😝😝😝
👏🏾😆
I never knew this style was easy
I'm mad I cut my hair, cause I would be doing mine today😂
Same!!! 🤣😂
During COVID I have been experimenting with my daughters hair. She wanted this style and I had no idea how to do it. Hanifa Nunez sameeee lmao
Hanifa Nunez This only works for the hollow faux locs. Some brands the only option is to pull the hair thru with the latch hook.
Darius Lomax Which method is easier?
Yes I tried to do the needle in the middle of the loc method as well the first two times and it was an epic fail. I couldn't completely hide the braids within the lockand it just made it more time-consuming. But yes un-twisting and then twisting, is great but the resl question is how to keep the braids inside the loc for the duration of the style... the braid seems to always work it's way out the side of the loc.... That's all I had to do??!!! Mind blown. 🤯 THANK YOU!!!!
YES!!! 😍 Can you do an update video on how long they last, please?💖 it came out beautiful💕 you go girl💝. This is better than using breading hair to cover up by wrapping it around each plat. Nicely done.
Gurl you just made my life so much easier. I thought I was going to spazz out trying to put that needle thing through the hair. All I have to do is twist. I cant wait to try my hair.
Very well done girl!! Good job. I’m about to do my latinas friend hair, and I was worried about it but not anymore. Your video helped lots!! Thanks!!
Thanks for showing a way to fuse the natural hair with the loc without using the crochet needle! I hate when people bunch up the loc to pull hair through, lol

adrienne curry i have the same issue and was wondering how to keep them in place . As the lock stretches the braid bends out
It's truthfully best to crochet your hair into the faux loc. It eliminates the hair coming out
@@zulygarcia7479 yes, same i need an answer!!!!

Love love love the video after it zoomed in on what you were doing at 6 mins in! Very helpful thank you

What an awesome job!
Thanks for the spritz tip! It will help with short braids that pop out.
How do you feel about the pull through method?
What kind of loc brand did you use. I want to do my daughter's hair and find locks close to her hair texture

Ok this is the best tutorial on youtube.
Very neat and pretty! Only thing I would ask if you were to do mine is not leave so much hair out on my sides since my hair is super curly. I'd use a jar of gorilla glue a week to lay them back down. Your parts were definitely on point!! 😊
I am so glad I found this video. Now I can install these without trying to pull the tail of the hair through the lock. Thank you!🔥🔥
You did an amazing job. I have been looking for a braid or crochet style to camouflage my ends hat inevitably end up poking out. I'm not sure I want a faux loc look, do you know of any other style that can hide my ends inside (individual braids). Have you tried pixel or 3D braids?

Best I’ve seen! And thanks soooooo much for the close up!🥰
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for! Do you know where I can find good locs for this method?
