I have. It leaves a ghosted effect. Measurement is key so the laser doesn’t melt it. I used 35-55 power and 100 speed. It only takes away a small amount of the material and gives it a sheen in the light certain ways you turn it.
I'm thinking about buying an xtool m1 machine, but I'm in doubt between buying the 5w or 10w, my intention would be just engraving. to engrave this magazine, did you use the full power of 10w or could you do it with 5w?
would you be able to shoot a rifle or airsoft? to see how it goes? I'm opting for xtool because it engraves several other materials, because my focus would be airsoft guns, but I intend to do some things in wood too. because for metal a fiber print would be better, correct me if I'm wrong?
Try lowering the power. Some magazines depending on the type of coating could cause discoloration too. Also these settings are for inches not millimeters, I now use millimeters for my settings. This would make the speed much faster than 3 as I’m listing in this video. I would try raising my speed to 50 plus.

I would definitely get the 10w. It also does a really cool effect on polymer mags too. It gives it a ghosted effect.

My kids are into airsoft and all have different style mags. Each one of them has different logos and designs to keep from them from getting mixed up.
