Everyone is naive when they were children....usually most people aren't so abjectly naive at 22. Yes folks when you are 22 you are an adult. Not a naive child. It's totally ok to judge that vacuous woman who as an adult was as dim witted as a 13 year old.

I don't feel sorry for her. Women 22 years old are married with children, sometimes many children and are very responsible people. One of the secret service and the FBI wrote a book. The secret service tried to save her countless times from going in to see the President. They kept throwing her out of the West Wing, where she was not permitted to go, but she was very persistent and very amoral. She kept trying to deceive them and everyone else. Nor did she know not to commit perjury with the police. Any 8 year old knows enough. An 8 year old would not give false statements to the police - would not commit perjury under oath. That's not naive. That's just plain immoral. I feel sorry for her now because the truth of the matter is what man would marry a woman like this. Now, I feel sorry for her because it's all come crashing down on her and her life could have been so much better. She came from a privileged background. People had the right to expect better from her. Yet, the Clintons are untouched. His wife is running for President. Her husband is going back in the White House to do more of the same. God help us. I do not understand how people like this can be working in the White House, no less running for President. . Did you hear the tapes between her and Linda Tripp. It's some Trip..

She made a mistake, but she was only 22. A little kid. With daddy issues. Her inner child was screaming for attention, validation, affection, and love.
I respect her honesty in the interview. She bared it all, right down to the most intimate details. Her childlike glee when she speaks about him is a dead giveaway that she was obsessively infatuated with him. Limerence, perhaps. He filled, albeit temporarily, the gaping hole in her soul that her father left.
It is Bill Clinton who should have been shamed for leading her on. Poor thing.

One difference was, he was not brought before a hearing or deposition over him lying about his excursions even though White House aides and press people knew about them. In those days, conventional wisdom deemed it extremely distasteful to air the dirty laundry of the man who genuinely gave himself to public service to and for the people (he refused a salary as president since he came from a wealthy family) The other difference was the FBI at the time really were out to destroy the then ruling administration, mainly JFK and did have him taped, wire-tapped, followed, etc. Again, the White House staff and the attorney general (RFK) knew this as well. I believe they would have used that info to stifle his re-election and publicly shame him into trying a second run, had he not been killed.

She’s not just a respectable person, she’s a hero and a damn icon now. The #MeToo movement has created a landscape where Monica can FINALLY be seen for who she always was. She is ME, she is a million women all over the world, throughout all of history. And yet, she’s MORE, because my choices and pain and shame and victimization wasn’t broadcasted for the world to mock. God bless her soul. I hope she understands that the women of 1998 might have hated her, but to the women of 2020 she’s a fucking HERO, and a legend, and a pioneer, and a role model. And I’m deeply happy she has lived to see her story change the lives of women. Not all martyrs get to see their ordeals synthesize meaningful change.

Haven’t you heard anything that she said? She was seeking his attention. She was after him when he said no and tried to distance himself. She was obsessed with him and he took advantage of that. I blame her 100%. She was nothing else than a booty call but was too naive to understand that. She thought they had a relationship. It was nothing like that. Clinton is guilty of being weak and not making the right choices but she seduced him.

Watching Scandal on ABC and knowing Olivia Pope is based on Judy Smith (the former White House deputy communications director and founder of Judy Smith and Associates)
Monica was a client of Judys.
You can see how interviews in the tv series are so similar to the phrasing in statements are similar to that of this interview.
Judy Smith rocks! I hope Monica is doing well these days and living happily.

I agree with many of the comments. She is pretty and a bright girl. She is also selfish and has a very shallow view of others feelings. She kept saying what about me? When not able to "solidify" the relationship. Well what about a married man? What about Chelsea? What about her family's feelings?
Sorry but her idea of love is bordering on shallow selfishness and delusional fantasy.

I wasn't conflating murder with adultery in terms of severity. However it is my firm belief that adultery is one of the few acts that, like premeditated murder, are absolute moral wrongs with little to no grey area. The inevitable and terrible consequences that I have seen flow from adultery are the basis of that belief.

What man wouldn't respond back to her flirty? She started it. She didn't think of any consequences, and the people she might hurt, but instead, she thought only of her own pleasure. She laughed through the interview like she didn't regret what she had done. Looked like she only go after married men. One after another. She is sick. This is one of the causes of many divorces in marriage. Individuals started flirting with married individuals and then reacted to it ongoingly, until it gets out of hand. Then people struggle to keep their marriage or whatever.

    • @rsartore12

    • @fehaghverdian8757
      @fehaghverdian8757 4 ปีที่แล้ว

rsartore12 absolutely. You are 100 % correct. It’s always a two way street in every which way. What I’m saying is, she was well aware that he is a married man. But she didn’t care because that’s what she does. She only like to go after married men. I think that’s what she stated. However, men usually fail that kind of temptation and reacts accordingly. Although if they have the power and the strength to decline, well, congratulations! Hopefully she’ll stop. But if he fail and give in, then that’ll be the start of something nasty, and the two of them will continue on until it gets out of control, than who knows what will happen next? I’m not saying that he has no fault to the situation. Of course, it’s his fault also once he accepted the flirting. What I’m saying was, when she started the flirting knowing he’s a married man, then she is the cause of the problem. However on the other hand, if he were my husband who answered to her flirting, I wouldn’t go after her, but after my husband for giving in. And for that, I would put the blame on my husband, and I don’t care if she started it. I’m just saying that both men and women should never flirt with married individuals especially when they are well aware that person is married period.

I'm very sorry for judging her, she seems proud of her relationship with Bill Clinton. I don't like the way she laughed during the interview. I can't understand, I think even if the married man is the richest and most famous and most handsome man on earth, the fact he is married, she should have kept it her secret forever, between her and the man, and should forever be asking God for forgiveness. I hope and pray Monica and Bill Clinton have truly repented and asked God for forgiveness because adultery is punishable in hell. Many of us are taking the commandments of God lightly,it's time we become more serious in obeying God's ten commandments or else we will forever suffer eternal fire in hell. in Jesus'name . May God have mercy on us and our loved ones. Amen. Lord Jesus help us to be Holy and blameless thru the cleansing of your most precious blood,Amen. We don't have much time. Francisca Klaassen I agree that Bill is the one who should have taken 95% of the heat -- he's the one with the loyalty to Hillary and Chelsea. Monica has no loyalty to them. So it's ridiculous to me that she was ever shamed or blamed in the first place.
That being said, don't you think she exudes an aloof, almost sociopathic lack of remorse? Everyone makes mistakes at 22, EVERYONE, but sleeping with two men she knew were married with families and having another affair ON the affair she was having? I don't get the disconnect there. Doesn't your brain stop and go, "yikes, this is immoral? This could really hurt people here"?
Again, the fault lies DEFINITELY with the men. The ones with ties to their families. Not the stranger. But she comes off as so unsympathetic of the feelings of the real victims (their wives) and the general situation and consumer entirely with herself that it borders on narcissistic imo.

In my opinion, Monica was simply trying to act as if her relationship with the President needed to be kept a secret and it wasn't the business of the law. Well, it was. She committed several crimes, and the President (though a great President!) didn't think about the repercussions the affair could've had. The fact that Monica laughs and repeatedly says it was "fun" is kind of disgusting. The fact that Chelsea and Hillary didn't cross her mind. It wasn't one person's fault, it was both of theirs.
