i had one for 6 years a 86 wmx 500 but my gas tank the kick starter folded into the tank, what a monster fast mine was in beautiful condition like this machine, lacked better back brakes and very shallow steering. God i miss it i wish i still had it just to look at it in my garage.
Peter Stayt raced one of these in the 1986 Finke Desert Race, the then fastest desert race in the world. It was the first and only time I had seen the WMX500 in the flesh.

These were so uncompetitive that in the mid 80s Cagiva In the British Championship used Yamaha YZ490 covered in red tape. Also a friend of mine was sponsored by Cagive in the 125 Class and used a Suzuki RM with red tape again. Great to see the bike though ,nice restoration.

@@dotti0339 ci vuole mestiere: mandi giù la pedivella piano piano finché non trovi resistenza (se la trovi subito, colpo secco e superi il punto morto), la rimandi su, poi dai una tranvata secca levando il piede (deve anticipare la pedivella, che se ti fa ritorno ti fai un male del diavolo), e se è tutto a posto e la benza c'è, il motore mette in moto in un attimo.

such a marvelous piece of motocross history, my brother has a 1985 125 WMX, I even have videos of it. These bikes are beautiful enduro monsters.

Beautiful vintage machine. Actually looks a lot like my 1987 CR500R. Air cooled? My expansion chamber is on the right though and water cooled.
This is liquid cooled as well.

@@dotti0339 più che altro devi stare attento a quando parte perche se non Levi subito il piede dalla pedivella ti spacca la caviglia
@@dotti0339 ci vuole mestiere: mandi giù la pedivella piano piano finché non trovi resistenza (se la trovi subito, colpo secco e superi il punto morto), la rimandi su, poi dai una tranvata secca levando il piede (deve anticipare la pedivella, che se ti fa ritorno ti fai un male del diavolo), e se è tutto a posto e la benza c'è, il motore mette in moto in un attimo.
