Perhaps you all can try one halal version too? Amongst the stalls u try for dumplings for example, can give us an idea how much different is halal version VS non-halal version. That would be interesting to watch!❤
my husband and I generally judge a Dim Sum restaurant by their "Chicken Feet"....Mind you I'm Eastern European and my husband is Hainanese.......Australia...Thank you ladies.
0:54 lol, swee choon has never been good, i stay 3mins walk away, it used to be a very average stall that is just 1 small unit, until the sons took over, they change the operating hours into the first supper dim sum in sg, then boom, their popularity exploded and slowly took over the whole row of shop houses
Y’all need to check out the dim sum place at TPY Lorong 8 Blk 1’s coffee shop!!!!! It’s sooooooo good - the owner was a chef from a hotel before he started his own business 😌😌
Whatttt - Swee Choon has slipped? I loved that place when I lived in Singapore. Dim Sum at whatever time (almost) was amazing. I am a massive XLB fan - also pot stickers. God damn I want Dim Sum now!! Sadly Glasgow not same as SG for dim sum lol
remove skin for pau, as quoted from a website: " I was once told how these folks used to spit-spray a cup of light sulphur water, with their mouths, onto a tray of just made paus just so it comes out clean and white after steaming."
Okay just to point out they are being quite unprofessional by visiting stall when they are mostly running out of their better dim sum, this is particular for twin star. You may visit their google map review, I had tried most of their dim sum and top 3 for me would be 1) HK style chang feng 2) custard bun (3 for 3.60 is a steal) 3) Mushroom Dumpling Other recommendation hot sour dumpling, porridge (best porridge there now fried porridge have moved), taro fried dumpling, glutinous rice. Siew mai and friends are actually not bad but I feel is a bit steep if you looking for budget dim sum.
What should we EAT for the next episode of Neighbourhood Gems? 🤭
Chicken rice
should have covered Swee Choon Tim Sum Restaurant
hokkien mee!!
Chwee kuehs

Wow! The chemistry between these two is spot on! The contrast in mandarin level provided an extra layer of entertainment!
i'm won over when Yookyung one-mouths some of the dim sums. Serious eater! 😂
The food looks so flavourful, keep on uploading more interesting videos. 😊 I love dim sum too. 💜

When you say Budget, How much paid for the food? SGD30? SGD50?
9:31 like cute
thx for reviewing the woodlands 1.50 shop ive eaten that for yrs!!!
swolid eh its my go to tbh.. for 1.5 (used to be 1.3 sad) its honestly not bad for a quick bite or craving
@akiokoh7481 ya ikr thats so sad it's so comforting and yumz ... the inflation tho... thankfully it's only 20 cents so it's still affordable
@@akiokoh7481plus it's near schools too (the distance not too far) so everyone can enjoy it even the students who wants affordable lunch
So far still like Paradise Dynasty XLB the most … for taste, texture and variety
yall missing out on the spring rolls from the amk one :')
I am feeling hungry right here from india😭😂 I want dimsums rn😅
2:44 Aishi...bal?
Chiara hasnt tried a good XLB? Does DTF serve burgers and fries? 🤣
from budget neighbourhood dim sum spots la
The old folks will always tell us to peel the skin because in the olden days, the pao makers will spray water with their mouths to keep it moist
I will peel the skin off the bao. It has been a habit from my father. Hygiene factor.
In this modern day and age (roughly 20+ years ago), the whole bao is definitely safe to eat sans base paper especially for factory-made ones 😊
