    Your video is great, and I really love the work you do, I agree, the music does overwhelm your instructions. I love the attention to detail! Thank you for sharing your videos! I will definitely be trying some of these projects :)

    As always, outstanding presentation(though I agree with a previous post, not really that the music was too loud, but it was loud enough to disguise what you spoke. As you sped the process in several places which, which of course sped up your dialogue, I didn't really think it mattered, but for those paying particular attention to what you said, it might be confusing. Another great illustration of why so many view you as an artist, in my humble opinion, is your attention to the aesthetic detail in the structure of the rope, i.e. adding the additional strand to fill the gap rather than twisting it tighter and bunching it up. A natural feel for the nature of the rope and structural integrity of knotwork in general. Years of history and tradition emulated in a simple aesthetic decision. Bravo! and Thank you...another fan from Maine.

    I made one of these last night. I made a few mistakes and learned a lot. I used 12mm sisal, 2.5mm wire and in the end it was too short to do the nice knot in the candle holder so it is just a spiral. My manrope knot tightening leaves a lot to be desired. I failed to get it nicely dressed and tight. But I am keen to have a crack at another one and get better!
    Thanks for the great video.

      Good for you. Sisal can be challenging. For neat result, use some softer fiber rope, like jute or hemp.

    Hi from the coast of Maine, USA. The countryside is the same here. And yes its getting cold out. Very nice job filming and discussing the process but for me the music was a bit to loud when you were speaking. Although the music was very good! Thanks for posting

    Masterfully done.
    I had a question. I figure that different materials probably have different strengths and weaknesses, but if given the choice, what material rope do you use and why?
    The rope used here is flax, yeah?

    • @mikkosnellman
      @mikkosnellman  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It all depends on what you will be using the rope for and what qualities you are looking for. For projects like this, I use often jute, since it is easily available, good looking and quite cheap. For strength, I would use hemp or flax.

    Wonderful! Thank you for the inspiration Mikko. One thing, could you put the names and titles of the music in the description of the video? Partly because I'm interested, but also so that you can avoid any copyright strikes in the future.

    Mikko, maybe I blinked and missed it...what is the rope's diameter? Kiitos!

      Hi Chris. Knot tying isn´t exact science, 10 - 12mm will do fine.
