How to make a large moss wall to encourage larger leaves with climbing tropical plants

  • Hey guys, in this video we are going to show you how we make moss walls to put in our indoor green houses. Having a moss wall will allow your climbing plants a secure place to attach, and encourage root growth. This gives them secondary sources to pull water and nutrients from.
If you keep the wall damp, it will definitely encourage aerial root growth which will help your plant leaves get even larger as they climb the wall. We find it's also much easier to keep a moss wall wet as opposed to a moss pole because there is so much more moss to stay saturated with water longer. This will encourage better plant growth.
Once your plants reach the top of the wall, they will hopefully have nice large leaves. You can then propagate from about halfway down, and put your new larger leafed cutting at the bottom to start growing back up.
Any climbing plants such as philodendrons, monsteras, amydriums, pothos, etc. will definitely benefit from a setup like this.
For your next project, give one of these a try instead of the traditional moss pole.
As always, our goal is to make you successful on your own plant journey.

How is the wall holding up after a couple years of use? I’d love to see how your plants look now:)
