Dr. Maryanne Wolf at the 2017 Burnett Seminar at UNC-Chapel Hill

The topic of the 16th Annual Timothy B. and Jane A. Burnett Seminar for Academic Achievement was “The Mystery, Challenges and Beauty of Dyslexia: Insights from the Reading Brain,” featuring Dr. Maryanne Wolf, director of the Center for Reading and Language Research at Tufts University. In this presentation, Dr. Wolf provided insights from cognitive neuroscience on the development of the reading brain circuit and why dyslexia represents a different organization of the brain rather than a disorder of reading. She emphasizes the deep reading processes and intervention principals for teens and college students.
