Love Aaron doing the videoing on the tours. Please keep it the same. Oh my goodness, you two had me laughing so hard with Laura trying to get her foot up. Hilarious how you two banter...Love it!!!! Such a wonderful relationship you have. Don't ever change. The joy you bring us is immeasurable! Love you all!!
Putting in a new pond with a small stream as we are moving and taking my current koi with me. I built my current pond by myself and have learned a bunch over the years but WHAT A DREAM to have a professional one put in. Your designer Brian and all those guys who are the best of the best!! So wonderful and amazing seeing your dream realized with you! Thank you so much for taking us along your water and koi journey!! Such an amazing blessing🙌💕
I love watching the tree planting. My favorite part is when the auger comes out of the hole and spins to get the soil off it --- I know it's more of a kid thing, but I enjoy seeing that. LOL
My son and family live next door so I am always trying to take a peek at your property when I am down there. You bought a a piece of their land! Everything is beautiful
Laura and Aaron together, gardening, planting trees, raising adorable children with awesome grandparents. Keep it going. We love what you do and so much fun to watch the growth of your beautiful gardens.

Don't change your tours. Please. We love hearing you both. I would love to see the dreamstream from different angles too. From the Hartley and from the house. I enjoyed and still enjoying the other guys videos from the Dreamstream. Seeing it from their angle and even seeing your garden through someone's eyes. It's amazing that we are seeing it differently. I looked at the D S so much sharing the excitement with my family I even dreamt I was there 😅❤
As a builder of homes I’m constantly making sure new clients architect plans have washers on left and dryers on right because Most front load washer doors are not reversible and there is a trend to go back to top load due to mold growth on front load door seals. If a top load washer then either side works for dryer
@@kathrynhile1684He planted tons of trees in our are in Ohio. We have plenty of apple tree farms in our area with of coarse a Johnny Appleseed festival 🍎🍎🍎
Great recap video. Both of you sounded relaxed. Love your garden tours too. I love all the amazing trees you have planted. They make every area even more wonderful!!
Just saw the washer/dryer portion. Our doors don’t swap either, but we swapped the washer and dryer entirely, just bought longer hose connections for the back Did it 14 years ago and works really well!
When we moved south to Texas I enrolled in a master gardener program. The first thing they emphasized is to start with planting trees…. For SO many reasons!!! I love trees and it is so surprising that some people here are more concerned with growing grass and cut down perfectly good trees! I totally appreciate your love of trees Aaron!!! 🌲🌳🌲🌳🌲
Those blue spruce pots were some of the prettiest pots I have ever seen. Your pot conversation/competition had me laughing loudly, here, all by myself, thankyou.
When my husband passed I took my daughters back to California and Arizona on a 18 day journey to our past to decompress from his five year illness. We stopped to see the sequoias. I purchased a pencil sized tree. I babied it home and planted it on the edge of my vegetable garden to hold over. Two years later it was six feet tall with a 3 inch caliper trunk. I had someone transplant it. When I walked outside I caught him with a fork lift pop it out and bust its tap root off I was sick!!! But, I should have really thought about its location and gotten it out when I could have moved it myself. But oh wow it was beautiful and grew so darn fast!!! If I were you I would put one right in the center of that grass area behind the dream stream. But be aware it will grow super fast! About 3-4 feet a year!!! Mine was bare root the size of a #2 pencil in a small plastic bag. In the first year it was waist high and two feet wide!!! I’m 5’5”!!! I live in Massachusetts!!!! I’m sorry I didn’t plant it in the center of our culdesac. It would be huge by now and beautiful!
Sequoias are stunning. But I don’t think it would be very happy where she is. They like the cool moist coastal areas. It’s quite hot and dry in her area.

Hello. What I noticed about the Dream Stream build was that there was no foul language. It may have been edited out, but with so many different people, that was appreciated! 💕
Wow, Aaron, I think you just created a new business model for the Hartley Company. That would be awesome to have a "turnkey" solution to building their greenhouses here in the US. Average homeowners don't have access to contractors who understand the intricacies of building a Hartley. You are right on, Aaron, that Greg has built his business on trust, collaboration, and sharing knowledge. That is a solid business model for the Hartley Company to mirror. You would be a good candidate for that Aaron, not that you are in the market for a new job. You and Laura have created your own unique business that we all love watching and learning from each day.
I’ve watched your channel since you moved to this property. I look forward to watching every morning. It would be so cool to see a before and “now” flashback type video of each area of your property. I vaguely remember one of these before but it’s time for another one 😂

Hi Laura and Aaron, Loved the videos this week and I can understand why you had a day off. Glad you are enjoying your garden and the dream stream. Aaron, regarding the established new trees you've transplanted and watering them. After their initial settling in period, consider watering them much less frequently and farther out from the base of the tree. The tap root needs to remember it needs to grow down more to establish stability and search for water. Watering further out from the base has the roots searching further out which also establishes stability. In my area, Eastern WA, where trees are in lawns and watered frequently, those big trees succumb to wind storms which are common here because the roots are all shallow. There is no stability. My own evergreen trees, which are upwards to 80 years old and 300' tall with a branch span of 30' wide, are deep watered in early spring when irrigation water comes back on, and in fall just before irrigation is shut off for the season. In between the tap root searches down and the side roots are watered only because of the lawn (20 feet out from the base) being deep watered only once a week. My trees have survived 75mph wind gusts while others in town have not. Since you also live in a wind tunnel zone, food for thought.
Aaron you and Laura are truly blessed I enjoy your videos they never seem to bore and I have a family enjoy your times together everything is working out just awesome!!!
I love watching your videos everyday, you give so much information, I just love it. Laura you and Aaron are so blessed, I bet in the evening you sit back a minute and just enjoy everything you are blessed with. I would never move !
Enjoy your videos tremendously! On the washer and dryer - put the washer where the dryer is currently, and switch the dryer door to open with the left hand (hinges on the left). Boom - problem solved!
I love the pond and everything around it but I am still amazed by the huge trees and the difference they have made. What a beautiful border I hope they all make it was wondering how much of a shock it was on that size trees. Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden.
I’ve been loving watching all the pond builders’ separate videos you TH-cam. You, Laura, were definitely busy being interviewed by all the builders. What a great experience.
My 2 cents worth on washers. I've had 2 front load and will never have another. Although I'll have to use a step stool for a top loader, the front loaders just don't stand up to them. They won't spin enough water out of throw rugs, are finicky about smaller loads, and I leave my door ajar so it won't get moldy. My next washer and dryer will be American made Speed Queens. Built to last!! I love love love watching your videos as they are. Your banter makes us feel like we are right there with you. Now that the Dream Stream is done, you can relax a bit...right?!?! LOL Now on to fall clean up! I'm looking forward to your parade of fall colored trees.
Great recap, love watching these. You to are so great together. I love the garden tours and love that Aaron will occasionally interject some comments or answer your questions. Your videos are the perfect start to my day. Thank you. Have a blessed day everyone.
🙌 When you planted the rose garden I actually said out loud, "They are not going to keep that!". 😂 I have a formal rose garden with over 100 varieties and roses do take a ton of pruning and work. They also lull mid summer in the heat, so while they are beautiful at certain times of the year, They aren't always on point in the garden. It helps that my formal rose garden has a circular boxwood hedge around it with a center large fountain on a large brick center pad surrounded by an inner lavender hedge and formal entry pathway. 36:39 Growing roses in rows with no formal design often looks like scrubby odd shaped plants in lines. I could see you enjoying a formal rose garden, but it needs to be one with hedges and design.
Thank you for all the information. I agree I love when a project is taken care of fully by the company and you do not have to find your own subcontractors.
I'm in the Southeast, and we are actually having a great decent fall!! The temperatures and weather have just been absolutely glorious!!! It has opened up the opportunity to get so much accomplished outside. Not hot, humid or raining. Just fabulous.
A couple of things regarding trees: you are right! We should all be tree people. And in Louisiana, where we cannot escape the humidity, shade trees are essential to keeping your AC bill down!! Our three majestic magnolias would drive you nuts because they drop leaves year-round, but they're our evergreens and the bloom season is magical!
I watch everyone of your videos, and I love the recap of your videos on this channel. I do learn so much from you guys… and I love how much you love your craft. That makes it easy to watch your videos. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s mentioned this but I didn’t want to mention that you could probably switch the orientation of your washer and dryer so that they open up to each other instead of switching the doors of your dryer or washer just Swap them with each other so this way they open into each other instead of away from each other. Had to do that with mine … i did have to get longer hoses but eventually it worked out and I didn’t have to spend the money to get new washer and dryers since they worked just fine ❤❤❤
Laura and Aaron- coming from a person who has had horses my entire life and have designed and built my dream horse barn- really think about if you want to build a horse barn next to a housing subdivision. If you think you'll be there forever, then go for it. If you think you might decide to move to a more private property on acerage, then keep that in mind when you design and build a barn. I think the moment you get a horse barn built, you are going to wish you did that on rural property. When I hear you talk about not being able to take a photo without rooftops, you would love a private rural property, especially when you invest in a custom built barn and pasture.
I never thought much about planting trees either until I visited Savannah Georgia. All of the historic district is lined with HUGE OLD live oak trees. Even in the heat of the summer it is so pleasant to walk the city because there is so much shade.
Everyone needs to get in the bandwagon of planting native trees, shrubs (they have huge value to wildlife, majorly under planted ) and grasses/flowers because more than 70 Percent of US land is privately owned and nature cannot be reduced by 70 percent. We need to maintain as much biodiversity as possible so that plants and animals can withstand disease and pest pressures. Our lives as we know it depend on these plants and animals being in the abundance that have previously been in. They cannot be sustained by PW sterile plants! I once planted English Ivy and star jasmine, but I am so glad other people took the time to educate me on this subject and now I have yard full of life that reminds me of the world I grew up in.
Me too. I'm a tree guy. My place is very small (maybe the size of the Hartley). In the low desert, I planted three palm trees to join the two already planted, and plan one more this fall. I'd plant a forest if resources were available. Our dear planet needs more trees.
I absolutely love your videos. I could watch all day. Such a breath of fresh air! It always makes my day and sets my tone for the day. How you can do such a wonderful job of presenting a video that is so fresh and beautiful. There is nothing negative ever.
I am originally from Guyana SA and the Victoria Regia Lily is our National flower…they are in all the botanical gardens in my country and the leaves get huge!!! Beautiful stream…
Just switch places of the washer with the dryer! You ca find longer hoses and stuff! This way you can chage the door opening of the dryer and all is fixed! Love the recap videos! Blessings!
Slushie Machine Advice: since the machine freezes water, when you want to make frozen cocktails you need to add the ice-equivalent of water to your recipe. When I first did this, I filled my blender with ice the normal way I would make margaritas. Then I let the ice melt to measure how much of the blender volume was usually frozen water. Then your normal other ingredients go in at their normal ratios. FYI, our margarita recipe uses Jose Cuervo mix, Jose Cuervo gold tequila, cuantro, and grand marnier. Cheers!
We live in northern Utah zone 5, extremely dry heat. I’m tootin our own horn here - we water our lawn 1x a week unless it’s in the 100’s then we’ll sometimes water 2x. Our lawn is darker, more lush green than any of our neighbors who water everywhere from 2x per night every night to 1x every single day (what most neighbors do). I was taught at a young age to only water deep once a week (irrigation), and create deep roots for your lawn. We run the sprinklers for 20-30min/station. We’ve been doing the 1x per week for 8yrs now, and our lawn is still the best looking on our street and area. We also have a huge old pine, and an ash tree in our front lawn.
Just a suggestion….instead of going outside to refill the 3 gallon watering can and carrying it in, to refill smaller can, put a water container just inside the door, say 20-30 gallon on a stand with a spigot, fill it with a hose weekly or how ever often needed. You wouldn’t have to go in and out as often as you do now. Might make a difference when it gets cold out. Love the videos❤️
Weaning your trees off water helps them reach deep for water thus developing a stronger, stable tree to withstand high winds, bad weather. 1st 2 yrs consistent water is important.
one plant per pot challenge: 4 pots for Aaron and Laura (and I think you used to have 10 total so that leaves 1 for Samantha and 1 for Benjamin). each plant has to be from a different plant group (petunia, grass, dahlia, caladium, etc). Voting: Mid June, Early August, Mid Sept. If you decide on plants early enough you could pot up the 4" annuals to 1 gallon pots before they go out in the big pots in the garden then you can skip some of that sad looking late spring smallness.
I've just bought 2 tarps. Should get them in a few days. I've used tarps before but they don't last like I'm sure these will. Thank you Laura and Aaron ❤ love your family and all the enthusiastic information for growing your favorite things you share with us gardeners.❤❤❤❤
I have the same problem with my washer and dryer. The company says they don’t do that for washer because if they leak they don’t want to be responsible! Love your channel ❤ Thank you for all the inspiration 😊
Always love watching your videos! Been following your channel from the very beginning! Just one very important thing. Please, never put cat food directly on the ground, bricks or concrete. Hard surfaces can damage cats' teeth. This is not only extremely painful, but it also causes the cats to eventually become unable to eat. Please 🙏 I love you guys and your kitties!
As long as you both like it and it works for you, please keep doing videos the way you do. I like the recap and tour videos and hearing both of you. I recognize Aaron's voice, it is normal to me. :)
Oh my, did I laugh so hard when you were showing off your fancy trainers 😊 love love love your videos. I have learned so much from you both and incorporate this into my (much smaller) English garden. I’m much braver now and if a come up with an idea, which my hubby challenges, I just say, “well Laura would do it” 😂even he knows that is enough said! XX
Years ago we bought a new house with no landscaping. I planned an approximately 30 by 10 feet area of trees and shrubs, but we were on a tight budget and I needed something to fill the area until we could afford the shrubs. I got pansy seeds by the pound and direct sowed the seeds into the ground. They came up beautifully.
My house when I bought it had no yard or trees, just dirt. I said Great, I have a clean slate. Planted 13 shade trees around three sides of my house and two in the front yard, Very small trees all I could afford. Took about 10 years but now they are large and branches just touch each other. Shade every where. Plus planted Tangelo, orange and lemon. Twenty five roses Bushes across the front. Last summer added a 25x25 ft area with grass for my dog and cats when they are outside.
When you talked about filming during the dream stream installation, it brought to my mind to share how much I have enjoyed watching all the other guys videos they put out. Great to see so many different perspectives of the same build.

I have a top loading Maytag, great washer!!!
@@annehedlund7333 Mine have all been Maytags.
Amen on the Speed Queen!
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day ❤️
I had a mouthful of tea when you were trying to get your leg up on the counter!! Laughing hard with your mouth closed is not easy!! 😅😅😅😅😅
The foot on the desk 😂 i laughed out loud. “Don’t watch!” Killed me 🤣
I am rolling laughing at the shoe convo. And Laura’s comment about stretching “real good”. Hilarious.
I’m right there with you on the TREES, Aaron! LOVE your attitude! You guys ARE THE BEST!
Thank you for all the information. I agree I love when a project is taken care of fully by the company and you do not have to find your own subcontractors.
Good morning Laura and Aaron!😊 your tree thing. Hugs hugs. Highl five!😊
If the pots are in different locations through the garden you likely won’t notice slow growth as much, everything you do is beautiful❣️
Y’all are so funny together. I love it.
I absolutely love everything you do and I’m rewatching all the old videos again and loving them 🥰🥰
Everyone needs to get in the bandwagon of planting native trees, shrubs (they have huge value to wildlife, majorly under planted ) and grasses/flowers because more than 70 Percent of US land is privately owned and nature cannot be reduced by 70 percent.
Lol...loved the modeling of the foot wear.
Lol, right ?! I felt that stretch 🙃
Good morning from KY, GA friends! Have a wonderful day!
Love ,love Aaron …so sweet.
I used winter sowing method to start pansy and viola this year with good success...for whomever was asking!
Please 🙏
I love you guys and your kitties!
I love the banter between you two!💖💖💖💖
100 % with Aaron love trees!!
XX
Yes! I got a good laugh when she said she was sweating lol!!😂
Hey Aaron just swap the washer and dryer position the hoses all can be extended and you should have enough length in the electrical cord. boom solved.
Good job Laura and Aaron ❤
Good morning! Great video and always love the interaction.
I miss videos from your enclosed porch. Such an intimate area.
