I remember a time when I use to watch Timcast and Mary would be on the show every now and then, I thought she brought a fresh vibe to the podcast, then began to watch her on PCC with Brett and they became my go-to every morning. Def happy to see her on the Corolla show.

Mary is 23 going on 43, since it usually takes years to attain wisdom. I didn't even START to gain wisdom until my 30s when I discovered talk radio. She's way ahead of her chronological age.

She's pretty darn smart and she has done her homework. I was born in 1954 and always saw things other people don't see. Adam and I grew up totally different but we have the same brain. I have watched the feminization of our culture. It's been going on long tlme. How did our cultural experiment work out. I'll let you decide. Even Dr. Spock said "i didn't mean that, i just meant talk to your children". Turns out he was a tough dad.
I was born in 1965 and agree. Both of us grew up with the same basic technology but very different cultural values.

@@joe42m13 Fair enough. For me it's the consistent moral and intellectual foundation she expresses. The contemporary rarity of this makes it stand out. She's also very young with more room for intellectual growth.
Been watching Mary for awhile now and she is more based than any other generation Z girl I've seen. We can only hope she continues this path... 💯

Adam keeps getting half way through his point before she changes the subject.
It's not interruption per se, but interjections don't carry as much weight when they're not well thought out, like a steak that's a little undercooked. You got to let it sizzle for a few minutes before you serve it up.
This is the real legacy of instant gratification, on-demand technology. A permanent mindset of believing you can have deep quality thoughts without having to really think.
What we're doing these days is recalling, we're not actually thinking as much anymore.
And unless people are willing to get off their devices, I don't see that changing either.
A great book on this subject is 'Deep Work' by Cal Newport. He discusses how going deep into your work, without distractions, produces a different state of mind. It helps you to operate more effectively and dramatically improves the quality of your output. I would recommend it, it's well worth a read.
You nailed it. I don’t dislike her but I was finding her half-baked interjections contrary to the flow of the conversation even though she’s mostly on the same page as the Aceman. The transmitter is constantly working whereas the receiver is often off. 😊
I give her a pass, as she is the guest. I assume she was invited to share what's on her mind.
Totally agree with Adam pushing back against generational groups. It's bizarre how many people would want to fit themselves with a group or blame a giant diverse group based on when they were born.

@@fatmonkey4716 Aren't multiple generations experiencing those events, just at different ages. People from different economic backgrounds are raised differently, people who are unlucky, etc. I found it strange to go, okay boomer. Or even just like, oh typical zoomer. Why would you even identify as a generational group?
@@dannyprovalone5110 People of different ages go through different stages of life. Yes, kids are impacted by economic downturns, but not like their parents that need to react to the environment. And people feel closer to people that have shared experiences. When you focus so much on your individual self, we call that selfishness, because you are ignoring how your actions affect others.

@brawndothethirstmutilator9848 honesty has its penalties. It also matters what channel you're on, most of my little time outs come when I leave true comments on black creators channels, black people with different opinions hate watching I assume.
Anytime Mary is on a podcast or panel she is the most interesting part. Honestly i'm surprised she hasn't blown up more. She has her niche but considering how much she tends to dominate a room, you'd think it be bigger by now. By I guess some of the bigger shows don't want someone that polarizing, even though Carolla isn't small.

I love this girl. Shes leveled like crazy in these last few years. Very clearly spoken, few uhm, likes and wincing pauses. Voice like a bell, confidence, makes points quickly. White hair makes my weeb self happy.
She talked over Adam for most of the interview, which is interesting because usually it is him doing the interrupting.
Unfortunately, she does this a lot. It’s probably my only criticism of her.
She has a lot to say. Also, she's the guest, so I don't mind as much. I don't watch her show, because I don't care THAT much about pop culture, in general. So I don't know if she talks over her guests. Or if they have guests. If she does it to her guests, that's not good. But you invite a guest on your talk show to talk.

You'll often hear people say, "If I knew then what I know now ... " But it doesn't work that way. Wisdom takes time, but youth won't wait.
