The correct response to $150k in car debt is Caleb Hammer saying "what the 💲🔔"
Oh, my!!! This episode was THE EPISODE that depicts our current situation! We have ACTIVELY started the Ramsey Steps during the past few months--“sacrificing is key” more than ever! We will keep this episode as a reminder! God has us on assignment--being in debt is NOT part of His plan😊
Blessings, Rachel ❤
He even said 330k NET. 27k a month takehome is bonkers.
They look at it as a blank check for everything. Expensive house, expensive cars, eating out all the time, the llist goes on. They could save half and live on half and still not know what to do with it.
I can't even fathom that amount of money. Lol. Each of their vehicle loans is a household income. 😮
Wife and i net around 20k and i can very well imagine spending all if you decide you deserv3 insane cars and houses. We arent like that but i can see it easily
Not really, considering a 6-year-old made almost $30M in a year just doing silly TH-cam videos.

I remember I drove around in a $100k car, dumbest thing I ever did. You never know what life is going to chuck at you. Now the house is paid off, I drive around in a KIA and live comfortably with all the inflation challenges that are out there at the moment.
This is our goal pay our home off❤
Love you and this show. You give me so much hope and support. When you describe the games , they sound like so much fun! Please keep making the content, it’s great!
I’ve never made more than 40K a year, retired 7 years ago, debt free and own my home. I also live in one of the highest cost of living areas in the US. I will never understand how anyone earning over 300K not being able to save any money.
With income close to $180k annually we've only been approved for home loan of $500k max (it was several years ago, not even recent). I wonder how much is your house because anything cheaper than $750k in Western WA either looks like a haunted shed or is located 70+ miles away from Seattle/Bellevue/Redmond where the whole life and work happens.
I wonder how long you’ve worked

My husband and I make this kind of money and I would rather die then have $150k in cars. I think these folks just assumed that at that income level they could just do it all. You still have to budget and live like nobody else so that later you can live and give like nobody else
Unless you’re Jeff Bezos, Elon, and all those other triple-billionaires, no one can live and give like nobody else.
We make over $500k and we still drive a 2003 car that I got from my mom... I understand the lifestyle increase that comes with the income, it's not hard to keep it under control.

@Paablopelaezcongrats on getting lucky
I'm always intrigued that people who say they are broke and poor, spend an awful lot of money on things that have no value beyond the immediate minute. Starbucks, expensive phones, clothes, cars, eating out, Cable TV, big screen TVs, etc. Then complain they got no money. My wife and I rarely eat out, and if we do go for a date, its like Taco Bell or Burger King, or maybe the occasional mini-blizzard at DQ. We're throwing everything we can at our credit card, just paid off our car (which was 3 yrs old when we bought it), and are making more than double payments on our house. True, we're giving up a lot of other things to do this, but we see a goal, and it is in front of us day and night - GET OUT OF DEBT! and I figure that not paying interest to the bank or credit cards, I'm making more with my money than investing it.
Wow, $150K in……car loans 😳
The interest alone on that car note must be ‘supernova’ expensive!
Glad my car is paid in full and I got one of those German brands too, Audi Q7 SUV. 😎
$3500 a month in car payments
I'd love to hear where they are in a year. They're livin' like rock stars and don't have anything saved for the future. I had this conversation with my brother, because he has a friend in this exact situation and my brother didn't comprehend that his friend is NOT poor but doesn't know how to budget. sigh.
I love this. Next, can you do a reaction video to this? Reacting to your reaction to your reaction.
Money only magnifies your habits.
You dont magically become good and healthy when alot of money comes in.
Quite the opposite
Happy to know that I'm on the right track despite living on a teacher's salary. Sell the house to pay off the cars--WHAT?! Priorities haha
They must love living in their cars lol
One would presume that if you can earn that kind of money, you’d have a reasonable amount of intelligence.
In a very specific area. Probably a doctor. Surrounded by some nurse with leased Mercedes and his fellow doctor in a Ferrari. But because people don’t discuss salary (for obvious reasons), they also don’t discuss finances between eachother.
Right?! Amazing.
Intelligence ≠ wealth
The Kardashians and Retardi B are just 2 examples of that.
if one of these or both of these people were to get injured and couldn't work, their world would collapse. They are boyind priviledged (by thier own hands, congrats) but need to be hunbled and learn to live like a regular person
People like this disturb me on such a level. Privilege at its worst. Plus he's not listening to a word they are saying. He doesn't want to sell the Beamer and the monster truck.
He might need a divorce lawyer once he tells his expensive wife, "for the next 18 months we're both driving '2012 Honda Civics and the only time we're going to see the inside of a restaurant is if we're working in it".
Not sure where this came from. Both bought a luxury car each with a 75K car loan. Given the size of the student loan and the fact that his wife just graduated, I bet she was a medical doctor and the high earner in the house.
pretty sexist of you to assume the wife is the spender when the husband could easily be the one that has a problem
His wife may be the high earner. Yes, very sexist of you to ASSume. They’re both spenders and now have to reign it in.
We make $300k a year (sharing my income as no one knows me on you tube). I am surprised that these people are in debt.

A 150k in car loans? I didn't even think that was possible... holy cow.
Where are you finding a side hustle that you can do in your own time?
that kind of student debt is definitely med school debt, probably bought a really expensive luxury car when he became a physician. As absurd as his debt sounds his income is probably going to go up even more as a physician, he's going to be fine 42 is rather early in an MD career.
Sounds like the typical broke doctor scenario. Being broke and in school for too long, and wanting to start enjoying life once got out of school. In the student loan documentary that Ramsey Solutions produced, there was this orthodontist crying about his million dollar student loan and how he could never pay it off, which was actually the result of him thinking he "deserved" to be an orthodontist and later choosing to not attack his own debt. When I bought my house, I kept living a simple life (not eating out much, not buying non-essential items) and put everything I had toward the mortgage. I paid off 500K of debt in 5 years. He has a much higher combined income, and as Rachel said, should be able to pay off the student loan and car loans within 18 months.
I disagree that they have earned the right to drive BMWs. Go get yourself a gently used Toyota or a Honda.
Doctors are terrible with money
Dude making 300k thinks upping their income will fix the problem shows exactly what their problem is
Poor, poor man. I hope he survives. Must have a bmw and brand new truck. I have a 14 yr old car. Make very little money. Can't make ends meet. Have every debt collector on my back. He's got suvh a hard life.

If you're earning six figures and still broke, living paycheck to paycheck or in debt, there's an addiction problem happening. It might not be substance abuse but it could be gambling, shopping or another addiction. Other than medical costs, there's just no good reason to need more money to get by. You can always make different choices.
I assume you mean individually $100k household income could just be 2 people making $50k a year which is a rather low salary depending on where you live add kids into the mix and yeah easy to live paycheck to paycheck if you have debt, so no not addiction.
@@reesercliffyeah cant imagine living on 100k and having 2 kids
@@Dan16673 depends on where you live, Midwest would be pretty comfortable but other more populated areas of the country would definitely be a struggle.
@@reesercliff i mean you could stay alive but your kids wont have lessons, private school etc etc
Do you realize that there is a huge spectrum of 6 figures ? That's 100k to 999k a year. Those are VERY VERY different. We make just over 100k and have 3 kids. No debt , but definitely don't save much because of inflation and high cost of living. Zero addictions.
When you take such a wide range of income and make such a generalization you are bound to be wrong.
It would be more helpful to understand how the caller got to that place. It sounds like the wife was in school (most likely med school given the size of the student loans and the current income), and they decided to completely forget about their student loan and started enjoying life once school is over. If they had focused on paying off the student loan and not changing their lifestyle until they paid off their student loans and had some savings, they would have been fine.
I think this couple needs to live on 100000 and pile the rest on thier debt
The guy just doesn't want to change is life style and wants them to validate it
Not what you make its what you save and invest. We make less than that but networth is so much higher than these people.

My ex inlaws made...250k a year. The husband worked and the wife stayed home with one kid.
They appeared to be very well off. But, they were hiding the fact that they were HORRIBLE with managing the money.
She was a big spender. On coach, high end stuff. Random dumb things like a 10k baby grand piano . No one played piano btw
Credit cards on everything. Everything was financed. Going out to dinner all the time. He even went to a pay day loan place. For a while to buy groceries. I was from a poor house. And noticed the cheap food they bought. Because obviously their leftover money was sparce.
After getting my stuff in order and making almost double what i used to make. Looking back at what they spent and bought.. omg they weren't even close to being able to spend what they did. Even in cash they weren't close. .btw they had a mortgage on 3 houses.... One, we rented for a while, the other was a vacation home.. And the third was a over sized, over priced primary home..... Ridiculous

A plumber I know was making 100k about 5yrs ago he bought a ripped apart house at $65k and hired handy men he knew paid cash and one builder they redid the house and put on an add on for about $80k About the same time a young guy I worked with bought a 600k home and a new Audi he and his wife pulled in close it 250k, step forward 5yrs rising interest rates means the young can only just meet the payment will loss every thing if anything goes wrong the plumber has the house fully paid off owes nothing and even in a down turn people will still pay him - life style of the large credit lines is like playing Vegas casinos the house always wins in the end
He ain't selling those cars. They could give this guy a million a year and he would stilll be broke. He is 41 and he STILL has hundreds of thousands in student loans. He has got to pay those off.
They are likely some form of doctor with that income and loan combo. It’s a pretty common trope that doctors are terrible with money.
Seems like Adam is not trying to swap those vehicles
3 people in a family and have that much in student debt? What kind of degrees did they get?
I would like to make this much money 🙏
I wish i made that much even half would be awesome
I wish I made just 25% of that!!
People are listening to this and they are scratching their heads and pulling their hairs. They probably have no more hair on their heads right now. OMG.
I’m pretty sure Adam did not take that advice.
Whyyy is she pushing a random game app?? Jesus. That is sad.
In my opinion If you pay $10000 a month for the house car and load debt.... then let clear it all up and Start over with your salary and Stop chasing the fantasy. If you clear it all up, the debt that you use to pay will become your saving in 1 year you would have $120000 in your pocket if do it right and focused on saving.
The house that you own now it is also a debt because it has the equity that doesn't mean it wouldn't change when this unrealize lose moving the direction or if you lose your job then thing get even worse, Nothing are belonging but only debt and bebt. When finance becomes more stable then you could buy the house again.
Ten thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I am listening to this and I don't know exactly what to think. Like I am better financially than you and I don't earn that much. If I put me and my wife together. We don't even earn 200 K per year. Are you crazy? Maybe sell your house and live in your truck? 😂
I just think if you ask hey we're going to check back in with you and you know 18 months 2 years it's also like you're walking with them and not holding their hands but you just walking with them and and help guide them and push them when they need it that's why I think that's the next step for Francis solution is to follow up calls
Lets put this into perspective. If I made over $300k I would buy a home cash or have a home paid off in less than 18 months.
Whoa! 150k is our mortgage! Sorry but I'm not living in my car!
If I started from zero and made 300,000 a year I guarantee I could retire in 10 years and probably still make 100 grand a year from my investments

I haven't watched it yet, but this person has a spending problem, living way above their pay, and won't budget.
I was considering buying an 80k suv, but this video changed my mind 😂. However, in that guys defense, 320k on w2 is really not that much money. Your paycheck is 1/2 of that, and high status professions come with their own expenses and a lot of stress. My wife and I try to be as frugal as possible, but you can't always dodge the Johnsons, and sometimes burning money is how you cope.
People like them make me angry. Their behavior is so irresponsible and entitled. People like them tend to complain that taxes are too high even though they have benefited so much from what this country’s government and institutions provide citizens which allow them to earn such high incomes. They are so fortunate to have that income and are asking for advice and help. It’s outrageous. It’s pathetic.
My opinion which is not akways popular but when you feel the need to buy more and more stuff and more expensive stuff, you might be trying to make up for something else lacking in your life and your self esteem.
150k in car loans is not that bad. That's like a new yukon and a new Tahoe. 1 for him and 1 for her. There is more then the cars and loans. 1500 a month per car and another 900 for the loan. 4k a month. Thats 48k...He makes over 300k. THERE IS MORE TO THE STORY.
He must be buying toilets made of diamonds and gold.

@@PureSwankhe says it in the video. He and his wife take a lot of nice trips with friends, etc. I’d also bet they have a lot CC/ personal loan debt. He said they have $10k in savings. I said ‘move’ facetiously because people always want to blame something for those problems, so I’m giving you a solution.
I’m truth, there will be a day that 300k isn’t enough to survive anywhere. And on that day, the average salary will be 1 million, and people will be complaining they are broke living on 3 mill a year. The numbers keep getting bigger, but people will always find a way to live outside their means
