Really nice comparison, for me personally the deciding factor for choosing crusading strikes is that it frees up a couple of globals for utility spells like cleanse, freedom or instant flash of light if talented as it will keep dealing dmg and building holy power. Some extra are Elementium Pocket Anvil procs more often and so should Ashkandur on hit effect so it's really fun when it comes to theorycrafting.
there are lots of factors raid or m+?, crusading or templars?, templars likes mastery and the sims will nudge you to there while crusading most of the time will tell you haste crit is better, always good to sim for yourself trinkets also make things change a lot
I'm not sure why there's even a discussion, unless the sims are wrong, Templar Strikes is superior to Crusading Strikes in BIS gear. But if you're actually a prot paladin with haste/mastery gear who offspecs Ret sometimes, Crusading Strikes may do better for you because it's lower skill and favors the gear you happen to have. That's the reason you're seeing it so popular; FOTM Swappers will perform better with an easier build in the real world, Regardless of what the sims say. There may come a point where we have the haste for CS to pull ahead but that's not in the 10.1 tier (you can verify this using simulationcraft). It's nice the easier build is viable but let's not mislead people about which is optimal.
Noob build (so CSAA build) scales a bit better with stats and gives you more burst dmg in wings and especially higher ES dmg, overall it does a bit more ST than templar strikes build but its incredibly easy (and therefore boring). You also feel a bit like old bfa ret where you sit there with nothing to press from time to time (even with base haste on 30%)
@@quelzar dont see how having 1 less button which lets be honest u barely pressed templar strike at all ,is considered to be noob build, its not like templar strike build is like shadow priest difficulty, csaa judt feels smooth to play, compared to templar

I have a question regarding "Blades of Light", some pp take it by itself without Divine Arbiter since they say it amplifi both damage types (holystrike = physical and holy), but how does that works? I see CS becomes holy and can benefit from mastery and DH buff maybe, but can't make it simc in anyway where it seems worth it, maybe i'm missing something?
im pretty low haste for ST CSAA and it still does a shit ton of damage. I made the switch when i got Anvil since TS is such low prio in ST, and in 9/9H raid i have an avg parse score of 96 percentile i still do the TS build for keys, but I'm thinking I might swap to a CSAA key build for tyrannical weeks and see how that goes. Anvil absolutely pops off in keys if you can keep the 5 stack buff rolling the entire time
Instead of using Patchwork, Light Movement, or heavy movement, select Dungeon Slice. Make sure you have your M+ build on when you copy your /simc output into the site. That will give you the data you're looking for.

You have a really good point. If the damage difference isnt too high, an extra GCD for helping out is very important for M+

When I look at murlok aka top 50 ret it says mastery is complete ass, should have 1000-1200 mastery max(like 16-18% ). Any comment on that?

My current stats are 25% crit, 26% haste, 19% vers 15% mastery.
With that much haste csaa must be better
