I live in Russia and a lot of people say that USA and UK didn't do anything "until it was obvious that the Germany will lose the war". It's a common sentiment here to give all the credit to the USSR.

Samurai and normal soldiers both overwhelmingly used Bows, Matchlock Rifles, and Spears. Also yes, the Samurai used a LOT of firearms, it's one of the things that led to Oda Nobunaga being so successful. He was the first to really start using them in Japan in the 1580s.
IIRC Navajo was not studied at that point, while other native american languages had some studies done, so it was unknown to the Japanese.
The USSR helped a lot, but they didn't single handily win, its a team effort

Also, the lend lease given to it by the usa was mainly in the form of trucks and radios, which are both important however the ussr had the capacity to produce both of these things if they had to. The lend lease gave them the luxury to produce the maximum amount of tanks and planes as possible. Soviet production was a lot more efficient than german production was.

I'm the number 1 US hater but yeah. The Soviets contributed the most against Germany but with aid from other allies and with catastrophic losses of life that Russia still hasn't recovered from
The US literally soloed Japan and still helped out with the other Axis powers. And were the only country to benefit from the war. They were by far the best performance.

Ngl the whole “Soviets solos ww2 argument” is completely flipped around in the Pacific theatre, the Americans, Canadians, and Australians (two of which still under British rule) did the Majority of the fighting, while the Soviets did very little in the Pacific theatre in comparison.
The point is that Russians pretend that they win by themselves. Soviet Union was not even ethnically Russian.
Not even mention that it was US who saved Red Army from collapsing, what was admitted by Stalin himself.
Bulk of Russian losses were self inflicted. Eastern Front drained mostly German logistics not the combat forces.

If you remove the diseases (since they were not exclusively Spanish and should not be counted as something deliberate since that is not the case) the Spanish committed fewer atrocities than other Europeans (to give several examples, the French, British or Belgians were worse). I know this bothers, but we must stop counting deaths from diseases as if they were massacres or genocides.

Not to mention that the Mayans were many different indigenous tribes, many of them allies, just as things were destroyed (many of those things that were destroyed during the conquest were destroyed by other indigenous people with a thirst for revenge), other Spaniards saved others. Were the English better for trading with them? The Spanish also traded with them, in fact, they mixed with them, that is much more than the English did. The English also traded with the Irish and Indians (from india), but that did not prevent them from causing famines that caused millions of deaths.

That lendlease aid at the end is actually pretty small if you think about it, besides the trucks and food, there wasnt anything that the Soviets couldn’t get by themselves. I’m not saying it wasn’t important, this aid saved lives, but it’s still basically the USSR doing all of the heavy lifting.

As a Russian, I think there is somewhat of a misconception. In Russia, there is “World War 2” and a separate term “Великая Отечественная война», roughly translating to Great National War. This term is used as a part of WW2 specifically for the fight of USSR with invaders from Germany and other countries. However, less historically-accurate Russians sometimes use the terms “World War 2” and “the Great National war” interchangeably, which isn’t really accurate, because the latter doesn’t include anything regarding Italy, Japan, the western front etc.
From this misconception, sometimes Russians may say that they singlehandedly won WW2, when in reality it’s more that they singlehandedly won the Great National War (Even that may be disputed by some, but this is kind of true. The second front in Europe, which helped USSR, wasn’t opened until 1944, long after USSR started pushing the germans back. Also, sure, USA did supply USSR with stuff, but they weren’t primarily military equipment. According to official statistic, if I’m not mistaken, USA’s supplies of military equipment to USSR took about 5% of the total equipment used by the soviets in the war. Keep in mind, this is official statistic from back then, and back then USSR respected the allies and their contribution towards the victory, so this statistic probably isn’t that fabricated). However, USSR did not really singlehandedly defeat all the countries on all the war fronts, that’s just ridiculous.
Of course, this doesn’t deny that there are some radical russians who think that USSR won singlehandedly in WW2, but this really comes down to their perception of Germany’s leading role.
Overall, France has a great military record but the last century or so has been BRUTAL for them. Franco-Prussian War loss, WW1 won but got mauled, WW2 loss, Dien Bien Phu loss, soon followed by the collapse of the rest of their colonial empire.
England did a lot to spread the Black Legend of the Spanish Empire.
