    Thanks for making this video for those looking for an easy way to get great tones. The only thing I noticed was at the beginning when he made a quick patch he only imported an AMP block. That would sound pretty terrible if you didn't make it an AMP/CAB or even a separate CAB or lastly an IR. Again a minor detail but for someone watching who is brand new they will wonder why it doesn't sound quite right. Thanks again. I use my STOMP every Sunday I love it.

    Line6 firehawk is 🔥 too! They are killing it with their gear. These help when you don’t have a ton of 💸 to spend on pedals. Great for a church to buy if they don’t have an electric guitarist who already has a lot of gear.

    Y’all should also check the Line 6 Pod Go, another affordable worship guitar option. Even the Boss GT-1 might be a little dated, but still a cheap and powerful tool!

    Quick question, are you using a cab sim in this patch or not, it sounds like you aren't, which isn't inherently a bad thing, but might be worth looking at as an option! Great stuff!

    I would recommend you to use Impulse responses . since I made my own my tone has changed from good to a more realistic sound.. I also use dual IR cabs.. I would really recomend you to add a small midi controller to use all the amazing features of the hx.. I got a hx XL instead of the stomp and it was a better option for me .. I really like your video.. I would love to send you my IR's to check them out

    Do these patches work for a Helix LT?

  • @brucelittle3958
    @brucelittle3958 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like what the Helix stomp can do, but if you are going to just use it for amp modeling, the Pod HD500X has really good also and has great effects.

    • @mtguitar5150
      @mtguitar5150 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I literally just plugged in my stomp for the first time tonight, the modeling is much better, I’m using the same ir on the same mooer radar that I used on the hd500x for the stomp and it sounds way better, it’s perfect for an analog board where you can use pedals for certain effects and use the blocks where they count, amp modeling and effects where necessary

      But how has your church taken that? As he says in some churches amp is not an option. Many churches run amps off stage, on to in ears.

  • @WillyBernardus

    It's 'the slight digital distorted sound' that I always doubt in HX Stomp when he played the overdrive and distortion.

    • @moments_with_IH
      @moments_with_IH 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are solutions to that. Thanks to the 3.0 update; you have 8 blocks, meaning you could add in specific reverbs to make it seem more legit, and you can add in compression or eq effects to cope with that.

    • @5eba

      It gives you the block space but not the extra hardware power needed. So still for most effects you are not able to use the new blocks.

      @stephenwhitney5576 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jordan i have a friend who has the zoom g3xn which is the same as the zoom G5N and he has had both the stomp and zoom and in his opinion for the money they are great how ever though they sound like a hd500x but alot cheaper and more controller over it. Not bad pedals just not gonna sound as good as the helix,hx stomp, pod go. Not saying you can't get great sounds though out of the zoom.

    • @ryanmaurer2630

    • @moments_with_IH
      @moments_with_IH 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Forsure!! Jst add in the audio source into the FX loop ("aux in"). Pretty sure you just need to change a few parameters to not get it on the R-L outs.

    You need to add a cab. That’s why it doesn’t sound good. Not trying to criticize, just help. Do the amp/cab block. You just did an amp only so it sounded fizzy, that’s what happens without the cab or IR. The other block should work too with the other 5 u have and then it’ll sound way better.

    What’s the point if you’re just adding it to a pedalboard? Spending an additional $600-$700 doesn’t make sense.

    • @TechguyAllen
      @TechguyAllen 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't have to use pedals with the HX Stomp but if you already own a pedalboard full of your favorite pedals, the HX Stomp can be used as simply an amp. I know guitarist that use amps when possible but use an HX Stomp when playing at church. The HX Stomp also has a few limitations on total number of blocks for effects and limitations on number of footswitches. It is possible to add footswitches by adding an external midi controller.

    • @gschreibministries
      @gschreibministries 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TechguyAllen the only way that this would be helpful for my needs would be the ability to put it in a suitcase or guitar case and leaving the rest of my pedals and amps at home.

    • @TechguyAllen
      @TechguyAllen 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      gschreibministries you can use only the HX Stomp. It’s very versatile. Try watching this video to see if it will do all you need. th-cam.com/video/DfzpHbvT71I/w-d-xo.html

      Because you can run the stomp direct into the board and use all your analog pedals, I’m using basically amp modeling and delay reverb everything else is pedals and it’s great

  • @Fadepaw
    @Fadepaw 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    HX stomp is NOT just as powefull as the full size helix. it only has half the DSP (kinda like half the power)

  • @mjmason75
    @mjmason75 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Sure the amp affects your tone some, but I disagree that it's 80% of your tone. I think the majority of a players tone comes from their fingering and playing style first, then from the guitar, pick-ups, effects, and amp (not necessarily in this order). Either way, great video and some good info! Thanks!
