The whole Outlanders project is eye opening. Tarja can do anything she wants. No one else of her former band members of Nightwish has achieved this kind of freedom as an artist.
The guitarist is Vernon Reid (born 22 August 1958), a British-born American guitarist and songwriter best known as the founder of the rock band Living Colour. Reid was named No. 66 on Rolling Stone magazine's 2003 list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time and in August 2023, was ranked #42 in Rolling Stone Magazine top 250 Greatest Guitarists of all time. Critic Steve Huey writes, "Reid's rampant eclecticism encompasses everything from heavy metal and punk to funk, R&B and avant-garde jazz, and his anarchic, lightning-fast solos have become something of a hallmark as well". As you know Tarja's bassist Doug Wimbish plays in this band too.

Tarja surprised me with this project and to be honest it took me awhile to get into it. I did think all along that the songs were cool since they were really different from what she usually does. Now I really like most of the songs on that Outlanders album.

Love the album. My favourite songs from it are Mystique Voyage, the cruelest goodbye, Sleeping Indian (with a local rapper). Actually played this when I got home and laid down for work.
And yes the snow got to winnipeg last night but it will all melt as its supposed to hit double digits by supper time.

I love this project. The songs make me dreamy. I find some of the songs a bit darker, like this song. And those are my favorites.
And I think 5 songs out of a total of 12 on the Outlanders album are covers and three of them are covers her own songs.
I agree that Interpretation of Tarja's songs and visualization is always a tricky thing.
And "Be Strong" isn't her tattoo because it was a man's hand 😆
