    I'm texlaxed and i had underprosses area on top of my head... So i learn that every time I relax i should start put the relaxer where the texture is more coil and curly...💇💇after few times relaxing doing that my texlaxed hair looks now more even... And my underprosses peace is down enough to be cut 💃💃

    I texlax, too. I find that using a Mild lye relaxer works best! Gives me more time to thoroughly apply the relaxer and smooth it without having to rush in fear of my scalp starting to burn. This has drastically reduced having areas that are under processed. My results have been great!😉

    My hair is currently exactly like this as well! I accidently underprocessed a few times and it's caused so much problems. So I've started to transition back to the way I used to relax my hair and gradually cut off the major underprocessed parts. Glad you done this video! 😊

    My hair is currently like this I was going to redo a relaxer something like a virgin one when I spoke to my stylist.. because I've been doing relaxers myself like twice a year. So I'm waiting for April to relax. But it's scary because I don't want it to break which it is easier to do as you said..

    So glad you did this video. I am about to self correct as well. I am intentionally texlaxed, but I want to have a looser curl/wave vs what I have now. So my plan is to texlax on my normal texlax day, and then 5 minutes before I am done, I am going to smooth down the entire length of my hair (with the ends covered in oil). I use ORS Lye normal and that always makes my hair texlaxed. My hair is very resistant to relaxers and the only thing that makes it bone straight, is Super and using the back of a comb to smooth. So I am not worried about becoming bone straight. My back half is tighter than my front too.

    Olaplex needed to add to relaxer cream when you process. You have a ton of hair and slot of people self relax and show up at the salon.

    • @stephaniecurry3098
      @stephaniecurry3098 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Slot of people self relax and after many relaxers you will have underprocessed areas. As your hair grow you need to do you retouches every 6-8 weeks or as recommended by the brand you use. Longer hair should not be relaxed bone straight because it looks lifeless. Short hair should be relaxed bone straight because as your hair grows out your retouches will be more precise. As a professional stylist, in order to prevent this in the future, if you continue to relax yourself, you should get a haircut, and I mean a big chop before your next retouch. Damaged hair needs to cut off and that's how you grow healthy hair. Use a our relaxer because it better for the hair and always base your scalp prior to application. No post relaxer period, please.

      Make sure to do a restructuring (protein) treatment to strengthen your hair 4 days to a week before you perm your hair again to prevent further breaking.

    this is a very common problem with most people who texlax. it's almost impossible to avoid underprocessed hair when you texlax. that's exactly how my hair used to be when I was texlaxing. I'm currently transitioning to natural.

    Hey love. Thanks for this video. I want to know if the amount of breakage/shedding you had was reduced after you corrected your relaxer? I'm currently under processed due to a seven month stretch and I'm literally hansel and gretel leaving traces of strands everywhere I go - washroom, clothes, sofa etc. I'm really curious as to whether or not this would help with the amount of hair I'm losing. Thank you.

    • @virginiawerewolf1408
      @virginiawerewolf1408 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I understand :). I am repairing my hair from a hairstylist that did not follow my instructions and over processed my hair during a relaxer. Did the breakage stop. If so, you can proceed with the correction and then repeat a protein treatment in 4-7 days or do a mixed treatment (protein and moisturizing) depending on what your hair needs.

  • @belleespirit4712
    @belleespirit4712 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    I am so glad I'm not the only one who does this lol I have a finer texture of hair so leaving my relaxer on any longer than a few minutes makes my hair TOO straight. So I start in the middle, work my way out. The middle is the thickest part for me and the perimeter is the finest, so by the time i get my perimeter done I go straight to the shower or sink to wash it all out. I dont exactly want my hair bone straight but I guess the point is just to loosen up your curl pattern. If you time it right or just plain know how your hair acts, you know how long you can leave it on, and how itll look after you blow dry and straighten it. I air dry when I can, sometimes I even wash twice in the same day to volumize my hair again because leave in conditioners leave this heavy residue on. So Ill wash deep condition, rinse, wash and condition again before letting it air dry. I think women do the most damage to our hair when we dont consider the styling were going to do after the act. So leaving your relaxer on to the point your hair is straight even when its wet is only doubling the damage, when you know youre going to blow it out and put an iron to it. Thats just my opinion I realize not everyone has the same texture, or can use the same products too. In general though I do think not leaving your relaxers on until your hair is bone straight is just a good idea.

    • @amorerobinson4140
      @amorerobinson4140 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. I have the same hair type, as you mentioned, fine texture. I’ve had damaged hair in the past and had to do a big chop and go natural. I recently relaxed my hair but I don’t want it to be bone straight, more texlaxed. I use a lye relaxer and it’s been good for me, I am scared of breakage and dry hair 😂 any advice?

    • @belleespirit4712
      @belleespirit4712 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@amorerobinson4140 girl just dont leave it on too long. I use no lye relaxers cause real life I cant even find the lye relaxers lol but I think leaving it on until you get that textlaxed ripple effect before you wash it out is enough to make it manageable without outright brutalizing your hair. I'm not a professional mind you and I relax to make it more manageable day to day cause otherwise I do more damage trying to do my natural hair. I've been natural was for many years and three times since I have follicles that grow up to 5 or 6 strands at a time without a relaxer forget about a comb attachment! Currently I'm 6 months post relaxer after wearing braids...its funny cause I'm about to relax this mug TODAY!!

My hair has a mind of its own( i used to be all naturally curly but my grandma cut my hair, and that ended up giving me curly/straight hair, so now its curly on the top yet frizzy at the same time and straight at the ends, please help

      Yes, this is the exact comment I was looking for b/c I’m seeing a lot of relaxed girls only leave it on for about 5-7 minutes for that specific reason, to maintain the thick & fullness of their hair since a relaxer is suppose to do just that anyway- relax the curls 😩 Can’t even tell they have a perm but in a good way
