    Thanks once again Mr. Settele this is honestly the biggest challenge I face when it comes to the SAT. I hope I can improve my time.

      Yes, it’s very hard to finish in the time limit! If you can get to a place where you’re guessing randomly on 2 or 3 questions, that’s still a success. It’s okay to sacrifice some questions to give yourself the time to be more thorough on the ones that you know you can get right.

    my problem is while reading I lose focus

      That’s a good one to make a video for. I’ll add that to my list. My quick advice is that you shouldn’t be trying to understand every detail. You can read the passage quickly to see if anything important jumps out, but then go directly to the choices. Let the answer choices tell you what to care about. Strong Words in the choices will give you ideas to go hunting for in the passages. If you’re reading with purpose, you’re less likely to lose focus because you have a clear goal.
      But to be honest, these passages are only about 3-4 sentences long. If you’re losing focus, it might be that you’re not well-rested and energized. Make sure that you take practice tests when you are in your best mental state.

      you need to actively read. try summarizing/paraphrasing as you read to keep your brain constantly active. like after every 2 sentences, come up with a rough summary of what you just read. then continue reading and do this until you wrap up the passage. this should tire you less and even make it easier to pick from the options bc your understanding of the passage will be much better

    You're my real bro! I can't thank you enough! Super helpful video I ever found on TH-cam. I MUST subscribe you. 2 weeks only left for my test day and I'm getting a bit nervous and I'm hoping to score 750+ on English since I'm still scoring 800 on Math consistently.

    • @SetteleTutoring
      @SetteleTutoring  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That’s awesome! 750 in Reading is doable if you make smart choices about what to focus on. Grammar needs to be perfect. So do the Transitions and Outlines. Study Vocab as much as possible so that you don’t get stuck guessing when you don’t know words. For the passages, just do the best you can. Be prepared to give up on a few for the sake of getting the easier ones right. The Hard module is hard to finish, so have a plan to skip around when the clock is running short.

      @@SetteleTutoring Which choice do you recommend when I run out of time in the second harder module? Picking just a single choice and sticking to it, right? What is the most choice that appears to be right.

    • @SetteleTutoring
      @SetteleTutoring  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Andrew-Tsegaye I choose B, but don’t think too hard about it. There’s no real advantage to any particular choice.

    Did a practice test and got 680 on my english section! Hoping to get and maintain a 700 by the time the PSAT and SAT roll around, thank u so much!

    • @SetteleTutoring
      @SetteleTutoring  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That’s awesome! Just keep chipping away. You just need 1-3 more correct answers to get to 700

    If I skip questions on the DSAT and go back to them later, will it keep me from getting more points?
    I'm saying this because I remember I took an adaptive English test (nothing relevant with the SAT) and my teacher said we MUST select a question before we move on to the next one or else it will deduct points.

    • @SetteleTutoring
      @SetteleTutoring  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Good question! Your teacher might have been right about other tests, but the SAT doesn’t work like that. Each module is it’s own unit, so you can move around within the module however you like. Just make sure you answer every question before time runs out because random guesses can only help you. The questions don’t generate based on your answer to the previous question. The entire second module is based on your performance in the entire first module. I go into more detail about it here:

    I am from South Sudan. I did practice test 5 two days and scored R&W: 640 and MATH: 790. please how can I improve R&W to approximately 690-730?
    I always fail less than 5 in module two and 9-12 in module one. I need some strategies to conquer module two.

      To get into the 700s, the grammar needs to be perfect, along with the transitions and outlines. If you know the grammar rules confidently, you’ll move fast through those questions, securing points and saving time that you can spend on the hard passages. The hard passages will always be hard, but there are tricks that can help you pull the right meaning out of the passages and notice the right words in the choices. Have you watched all of the lessons in my strategy series? That’s certainly a good place to start:

    Does 700+ mean 700 and above or >700.

    • @SetteleTutoring
      @SetteleTutoring  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I meant 700 and above, but it doesn’t matter. There’s no hard cutoffs for scores based on which questions you get right/wrong.

      You need to make sure you are protecting every point you can in that first module. No careless mistakes. No wrong answers on questions that are about memorization. My strategies about bookmarks are really important because you need to pay attention to where you think you’ll get questions wrong DURING the test. If you’re surprised by your wrong answers, that means you’re falling for traps or make careless errors, which is really bad. It’s okay to get hard questions wrong because you can see those mistakes coming. But if you’re surprised by wrong answers, you’re not paying close enough attention to how the SAT works.
