Traditional Bowhunting- Hot Deer Action- Ohio Opening Day

September 30, 2023 opening day of archery season on southeast Ohio. Travis Shirer had a very exciting deer hunt. His hang and hunt setup was perfect and all of the deer he saw were plenty close enough for his recurve bow.

I’d say she’s older and her teeth are probably wore down a little. She’s been nursing that fawn all summer with not much fat in her diet , just run down like an old Holstein cow. She will bulk up on the beans and acorn before winter since they are higher in fat content.
