This buck was obviously unaware that you were improperly dressed and ill equipped. Therefore, he doesn’t count! Unless you’re carrying the newest bow and dressed in the latest “ they can’t smell me magic suit” you’re not allowed to shoot a deer . According to page 69, paragraph 2 of the Deer Hunters guide to buying a buck! Congratulations anyway from a fellow old school guy
It’s a shame what hunting has come to. Land prices, leases, atvs, equipment and gadgets. It’s for the elite now. If you can’t shoot it from your back porch and process it yourself, it’ll cost you way more than it’s worth.
Plenty of working class bowhunters out there. You are not unique so stop playing victim. If people want to spend thousands of dollars on gear just be happy that excise tax is going towards conservation and public land acquisition for others.
@@usernamehere6061 victim my ass. My land is bought and paid for by my blue collar so you can shove it up yours. I was just staring the fact that it’s overly expensive if you don’t hunt the land you live on. Am I wrong? Or are you just acting like you matter?
@@usernamehere6061 I wasn’t actually playing victim. I WAS making fun of all you guys who think you can buy a Buck! Hope this clears up the confusion. BTW, it’s the Robertson Pittman act you were thinking about not your states excise tax. 😜
i am 66 years old, i have been hunting one way or the other all my life here in SC, i have mostly ground hunted. i found out long ago camo is a gimmick! i now mostly hunt with flintlocks. my hunting bow was a 43# martin super diablo, it would go slam through a deer, a sharp broadhead and shot placement is what counts,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I'm trying to get my first deer from the ground with my recurve, and I keep feeling conflicted about whether I should get up in a tree. This reaffirms to me that it can be done; it just takes the right place at the right time!
I feel honored to have this video showcased on such a great TH-cam channel. As always great content and featuring all these different videos from subscribers is awesome to watch! 👍
That’s awesome. This is my first year committing to the trad bow 100% and I’ll be hunting from the ground a lot. I really enjoyed it with my compound. Congrats.
Inspiration!! That was incredible. I'm just getting (re)started into traditional bow and this is the kind of hunting I desire to do. I'm aware that this video is a culmination of an endless amount of hours of practice and preparation, but it's seriously inspirational!!
Utterly fascinating. Everything has to be just right for this to all come together. I’ve rattled a few over the years and the hard part is getting the shot done. Congratulations.
I learned a long time ago that rattling works better than we realize. Sometimes they come in very quickly, other times they come in slower. maybe because a bigger buck has kicked their butt. But the biggest thing that I discovered was that to wait at least 30 minutes after the last rattle before moving on, a buck will come slipping in a lot of the times. I had moved to a higher spot once after rattling but moved after 10 minutes only to look back from higher to see a good buck making his way right to where I had just left. My last buck was a big 9, came right to me 25 minutes after my last rattle. Well Done Sir and congrats
Envious... but so grateful to a traditional lifestyle. I'm the only female I know using a recurve and/or longbow. It's the most natural feeling and pride. Thank you for sharing this beautiful moment. ❤
Never had luck rattling anything in. Good you had a tree blocking the buck's vision to make the draw and not have to hold long. Shot several bucks from the ground with a compound, but not a recurve... yet.
I got my first buck ever this year.. shot him 7 yards away on the ground with my recurve. Cedar arrow and zwickey eskimo broad head! I've missed a couple of smaller bucks the last couple years but finally connected on a Pig! I'm thinking he'll score about 140-150.
Awesome video and a really nice buck! I too, dont like where hunting has gotten too. I quit hunting 6-8 years ago. I love watching hunting videos but i don't care to shoot deer anymore.

The only true way to hunt, good going guy, double thumbs up. Not sitting in a tree like a vulture.

Did he actually take a whitetail while on the ground in jeans, flannel shirt and a whitecap?? No Way!!!!!!
Awesome 👍🏻
Awesome hunt!
Well done , what's the bow ? Arrow ? Just curious.
What an absolute rush hunting from the ground with traditional gear. Well done! What quiver is that you're using?
That quiver is an EFA apache primitive.
@@darktimber3340what kinda bow?
The bow is a Hoots custom Lil Hoot. 54#@28" 56" long.
That’s it, I’m ditching my compound & camo 🤘🏼
What kind of plaid baseball hat do u have? It looks cool and I want to get me one?
Very nice. Well done
What camera are you using? Seems like it would be super convenient when trying to hunt and self film.
Wonderful hunt, good filming too! What camera armor using? I noticed you stabbed it into the ground I’d like to get a set up like that.
oh yeah....
Don’t quite understand the white hat from the ground. What’s the point? Sentimental value?
Them black eagles vintages sure are a good lookn arrow
Awesome video and a really nice buck! I too, dont like where hunting has gotten too. I quit hunting 6-8 years ago. I love watching hunting videos but i don't care to shoot deer anymore.

Great job with the recurve though.

How hunting is supposed to be done!!! Looks like me in quick setup after work.
I enjoyed your video just really wished your camera would of been more focused...but I'm happy for you.

Brought to by Sears Roebuck flannel shirts the shirts that deer prefer! Dam, anyone want to buy $10,000 dollar’s worth of deer hunting apparel?
This Right Here Proves that $1.000 Camo Outfits are Overrated.
