Ace achieves with ease what KISS struggle to match. He sounds f**king marvellous, guitar and vocally. Ace is one of the very few people who can't really sing properly and yet sounds listenable. His vocal style is what I think of as "casual streetwise attitude ", and it works.

This here is why ace is so cool. He knows the downr😮ght Hit songs and makes the best covers. On top of that , he had the most successful solo album of the 4. Then ,went on to have a remarkable solo band career !! Plus came back into kiss for the 90s reunion tour! He's done guest appearances with multiple bands, been on many talk shows. Then..... Not knocking them, but since this is their last tour is part of the strong draw that can still only go so far. On the music side, I think the dude really means, most of us wanted to see Kiss go out with at least Ace on lead guitar, allot of their hits are his solos (recognizing Gene and Paul did bring in ringers when Ace was going through periods of serious substance abuse.) Peter, meh, what can you do, the guy's playing has degraded greatly and I think he finally admits it. Ace wants kiss because he wants to retire comfortably, unfortunately b/c he blew through most of his kiss money over the years. Think he is worth, what, about 1 mill now, when he had that in his back pocket in the old days. Kiss needs Ace to go out with a straight face, Tommy is a farce, period. It's decent, but Eddie Money was a much bigger name and his version was (I think) better, and so it became a big hit for him, whereas their original had been a minor hit that barely charted (resulting in most people - myself included - for years never having heard it or even knowing it existed.) 🙂👍🏻
