Some people feel bad useing Kellogs gun. As it was used to kill your spouse. Then again it does add to the story in a brutal way.

@@savagex466-qt1io I did not use his gun because it was mediocre at best. With mods i had a lot of other guns that ware just better at everything. I think i used a glock or something that had insane (low) vats price so i had crits for days with it.
I basically did this challenge myself. I did a “cowgirl” play through, only using revolvers, lever rifles, and molotovs. Until i got to Far Harbor it was pretty much revolver only and was decently challenging. I ended up getting a Deadeye .44, slow time on aim and I felt so cool every time.
I never get lucky like that with legendaries in runs, always end up getting usable legendaries with bad effects, or get useless legendaries like penetrating rolling pins.

I did this as a modded playthrough (using itsyaboybrandyboys lists) it was the most fun I've had until my fallout 4 started freezing and I can't fix it no matter what I try
Why Molotov’s? Like did the cow”persons” used more Molotov’s than anything else? I’d thought dynamite would be more appropriate

The silver shroud quest guy is so wholesome. It so nice to see someone who genuinely just wants the wasteland to be a better place, and his interactions with the sole survivor are so cute! :)
Sadly its so difficult to keep him alive at the end part in the hostage part. Ive failed it countless times before i got it down lmao.
@@brettrossi034 I'd argue it's one of them best quests in the base game. Potential consequences, unique ways to deal with the final boss via dialogue, hell if you kill Kent you can scare the shit out of the raiders instead of talking them into running. It's a shame there aren't more base game quests as good as the Silver shroud ones.
My predictions: biggest problem is getting ammunition. You can get a revolver at the very start and they deal lots of damage, so that's not supposed to be too complicated
As Willow says in the intro you need to use the .45 pipe revolver at the start of the game due to scarcity of .44 ammo.
.44 and .45 ammo isn’t too bad as long as you use vendors. Buy buy buy
If sources are true, there are two .44 ammo early game accessible vendors. Leonard Moore, just south of Coastal Cottage and Eleanor, the ex-raider now-merchant slightly northwest of Fairlane Estates. Both vendor's inventory is purported to replenish after only a couple of in-game (3?) days.
@@JerryDreifuerst yes it's claimed these vendors offer ammo types independent of level, though I have never tested it myself personally.
Just get the scrounger perk for more ammo

@@WillowPlaysGames Kellogg's pistol is A MILITARY GRADE sidearm. A "big iron" or the Western Revolver is no longer military grade. The Western Revolver is the real Big Iron
@@user-zq6qr3ti7u a big revolver is a big iron. And Kelloggs 44 is literally just a .44 with a different barrel. It would be available to the public.
@@WillowPlaysGames Yes, but, the "big iron" we saw on some outlaws from the 1700s had big barrels, thus the term big iron was formed, at least on guns
No they had longer barrels not big barrels there were revolvers with stupid long barrels to test things
The guards actually do attack you when you free Mel, you just happened to open the door when all three of the guards had patrolled into a different room at the same time, so they didn't see it. That 9 Luck is getting a lot of value in this run.
You were the stranger there among them, they dared to ask your business, they dared to make a slip, and you just so happened to have a big iron on your hip
I've got a small tip for you in case you do the Silver shroud questline in a future run.
Should Kent survive being taken hostage he will ask you on his radio to meet him after a couple of days.
When speaking with him he says that he wants to perform some upgrades on the Silver shroud costume which actually give it some armor ratings.
He does it a couple of times until the Shroud costume becomes an actually useful piece of armor that is much better at keeping you alive.
For real? Huh. Nice. Didn't know that.
@@patrickn.4113 I believe you can upgrade it till level 40 or 45. Then it has like 82 Armor if I am not mistaken and only has less Armor than the Railroat MKV Coat. But it only weighs 7 Pounds instead of the 60ish from the coat.

The western revolver does drop legendaries. I saw Jabo get a two shot western revolver in one play through, he didn’t use it but I can only imagine how good it would be.
Im currently using a 2 shot revolver and i can confirm it is very strong. Usually 1-2 shot kill depending on the enemy. Im also level 74 so im a bit strong.
Got a western with the slow times effect and man is it fun

I love the Dead-Eye effect on weapons! I obtained a Never-Ending Western Revolver on a previous play through. That was a great find!
Imagine if you could get one that shoots two bullets AND refills your action points on a critical hit, shit would be absolutely busted
You can use the generator room electric arc to kill all the roaches in the vault so you can collect the meat. It involves a lot of running back and forth, and the arc will probably hit you at least once, but there is a water fountain next door so you can heal between kills. That's the method I use when I do a level 1 Nuka World challenge.

Just wanted to say that I like that your videos are longer than usual for challenge runs, it's cool to see the journey in more depth and to hear you explain your thought process when solving problems etc.
Second that, you explaining your thinking is what makes these videos stand out.
1st. That character voice at the beginning is a 10/10 "9 in luck because I found a 7 leaf clover".
2nd. Legendary western revolvers do spawn.
Seeing the Preston elevator transport him to his special bed was the funniest thing ever. Great fun overall.
Nice work! Choosing to wear the Shroud costume on Survival is definitely a choice. I'm glad you have more patience than I ever could have.
Oh, so miniguns suck, do they? Well, there's my challenge suggestion! Of course, the Shredder mod and the Basher perk are a tremendous help.
just saying with no ammo the minigun with shredder is a blender that uses ap unless in power armor which make a great weapon arguable better than the actual minigun
The shroud costume can be upgraded to give armor points if you save Kent, and can be upgraded multiple times
Yes, the western revolver has legendary drops. Very rare, and the couple I came across were when I was not doing a pistol run. Surprisingly, the couple I found were not in Nukaworld! I have done revolver runs, only using the pipe revolver until I get enough caps to buy a hundred or so .44 from the vendor a bit away from Diamond city. I invest in scrounger as well and return to that vendor every couple days. It's a grind but it's very fun!

The fight with Strong was probably the craziest fight i have ever seen in fallout 4. I have never even seen an enemy spawn with that type of legendary weapon before and the fact it one hit killed you in the late game is so shocking.

I love Kent's enthusiasm. I have some problems with Fallout 4's story and characterization, but when it goes well, it REALLY goes well.
Fun fact you can actually grab the silver shroud prop tommy gun it's useless but still it's a fun little thing you can do
Thank you for including all the dialogue during the Silver Shroud portion of the run; that was always one of my favorite sidequests in the game

39:44 just use the DLC to craft your own ammo. You still have to work to for the materials, but its faster than reseting the npcs!
I think the western revolver can be a random legendary spawn because I actually found a Resolute western revolver from a random legendary Angler

There is a free .44 revolver legendary you can get early on, it's east from Finch's farm across the river, it's legendary is fire dmg not the best but better than the normal one

I actually named one of my cats Shroud because of the Silver Shroud quest line. He's jet black with light grey iris's. It was fitting.

I have never seen this, Ive never seen anyone say anything about it. But fuck it, it was shiny and my brain is small.

I think it's so funny how in both Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4, smoking kills. But not due to lung cancer, but because it leads vengeful protagonists to the smoker in question.

I noticed a few minutes ago how recent the channel is. I'm really surprised, the quality of the audio, editing and commenting made me think I was watching videos made on a channel that was several years old!
The channel can count on an additional subscriber, I've been having a great time so far and am expecting this place to grow quite large in the future!
A challenge I did a bit ago was that I could only carry as much weight as I could lift irl (I used my squatting rep weight) and I could NOT turn left (so I had to turn to the right all the way til it ended up turning left LOL). I think it would be super funny to see this challenge as maybe an additional challenge to something else as this alone could get repetitive. Great video though!!! Earned a new sub from me!

That was probably the best fight against strong and it gave you a great drop. Great fight in both sides. Good dog he was great in the fight with strong
44:09 so, just so you know, the Protectron is ALLIED to the turrets for some reason. If you aren’t stealthed and aren’t able to kill the turrets with one hit it’ll be hostile to you when you kill them. The only other way to keep it from turning hostile is just not destroying the turrets.
It also doesnt help that he pickpocketed the protectron right in front of said protectron. :)

I guess you forgot, but if you came back to kent (after listening to the silver shroud radio one more time) he would have upgraded the suit into an armor, making it way more resistant to damage.

These are fun! If you need ideas my favorite way to play Fallout 4 Survival is always No VATS and No HUD. Permadeath makes this much more memorable as well. Makes a lot of random encounters into: "I don't know who that is, and I honestly don't want to get shot first."
I'd use a mod like the Immersive HUD for taking away your HUD for most things, and possibly just remap VATS onto something else.
53:00 To be fair The Castle has water purifiers, very defensible walls (when patched up) and most importantly the artillery schematics. With those a general can rule er protect the Commonwealth.
You got lucky with Mel, all 3 guards walked out of the room at the right time for you to open his cell. It's not F4 being silly, you got lucky timing.

oh MAN i literally just started that a couple days ago! made it a Mysterious Stranger run where i also only use Trench Coat/Fedora (so Railroad kinda a must) and no settlements whatsoever - fun af!
When i came to the Glowing Sea for the first time, i killed 12 deathclaws, and 2 of them were legendary queens. Spary n' Pray, baby!
There is a unique incendiary revolver across the river from Finch Farm, in a concrete pumphouse.

Good video.. Have you tried war on the commonwealth mod? It makes fallout 4 a warzone. Think that would be a good survival challenge in itself.

Had this idea for a “fire only” run. Molotovs, Flamers, and the shishkebab mainly, and any incindeary legendary weapons. Tried it myself, it’s pretty fun. Though I did learn not to immediately charge the forged with two molotovs and nothing else
Would of been easier to run into the castle and get a flamer while dodging mirelurks than forged with 2 molotovs

one other thing: could you try to beat TLOU 1 on survival or grounded (whatever the hardest one is) with weapons you only get from cutscenes? (exclude the bow cause Ellie gets it in the Winter segment just no upgrades/usage on it till after Winter.) everything else you can use includes the hunting rifle, pistol, revolver, med kits, shotgun, shrapnel bombs, shivs, melee (not upgraded)...and I believe that's it.

I did a traider rylee run once.
The rules were:
Must look like Trader Rylee
All stats must start at 4
Must operate out of vault 81 or diamond city
Must always ask for more money on jobs
Must always wear a vault suit
Must never go to a player settlement (unless required to by a quest)
Must always invest in life giver, scrounger, trader, and lone wanderer perks (where available)
10mm pistols only.
Must always wear a vault suit.
Its not a great character build, but the hardest part was not being able to camp at settlements
Rylee has the best ass in the game.

In case you didn’t know there is a vendor that sell 44. ammo at any level near diamond city. The vendors name is Eleanor

Can confirm the western revolver can drop in randomized legendary versions in nuka world. I got an explosive western revolver in my main.

I like Smiling Kate's design and attitude. It's a shame she doesn't get more screen time. Then again, I feel like the raider gangs weren't distinct enough in general. If you read terminals there are definitely distinct gang territories under different leaders, but they all look pretty generic.
Nuka World and Automotron added some more visually dusting gangs at least. Too bad Rust Devils pretty much replaced every random encounter.
There may only be three guns named 'revolver', but if you wanna be cheeky, the automatic barrel for the laser pistol/rifle and the gatling laser feature revolving barrels. Absolutely a BS way to justify their use, but hey. They revolve.
if I did that you know the first 100 comments on this video would be 'run invalid, laser not revolver' but I actually did think of this before the run.

I didn't watch the whole run but did you use "revolver rifles" or did you restrict yourself to pistol formats? The pipe revolver rifle is a pretty good starting weapon and it can scale up to .308 later.
