She said positive not painless. Per the videos I’ve seen about hypnobirth or positive births it was never said that their pain magically disappeared. Basically she’s giving her testimony on how she managed to cope with her birth. Plenty birthing videos are scary, intense and overwhelming to watch although a blessing. The whole purpose of hypnobirth/positive birthing is simply to show natural and holistic ways of coping with labor in general not to rid the pain(that’s the epidurals job) Clips of her actual delivery show how positive she was throughout and how she managed completely different from what society knows as labor. I’m 16 weeks today and the video was inspirational since I plan on going completely natural and delivering outside of the hospital environment. All in all the video was amazing, congrats on your experience!🙂🙏🏽❤️
Just stumbled on this again. Honestly, this is a positive experience compared to many I’ve heard of. Pain doesn’t equal negative. Labour and delivery are painful processes - there’s no need to sugarcoat it. How we/our bodies handle that pain is what can contribute to a positive or negative experience. A very belated congratulations on your bundle of joy! Thank you for sharing your experience with us x
Congratulations Fiona 🎉🎉🎉 I totally agree that it is possible to have a positive birthing experience, the podcasts and books you shared earlier really helped me, my Baby was pushed out within 15 minutes of getting into the theatre room. My fan didn’t even come out, there was no time for that. Funny how I didn’t feel the effect of the gas and air, it just made my lips dry. LOL at how your pee came out. I found that my contractions weren’t as painful when I was on the toilet seat. Childbirth is truly a miracle. Your hair really looked nice and full in the birthing videos. I’ve made a conscious decision to ensure I share helpful pregnancy and maternity related videos because first time mums need all the tips and advise they can get. Cheers to women and mothers worldwide who have been birthing and raising children with ease and grace all these years.
This was positive and honest! Positive doesn’t mean all peaches! I can tell you are proud of your body and your experience and that’s positive! You got me pumped for my upcoming labor ☺️💪🏾
Please view TH-cam videos; 'Evra's unassisted home birth', 'Full Natural Childbirth Delivery | Obstetrics' and 'She's here!!! Labor and delivery' particularly the side view as baby's head is exiting mum's tummy, the skin and underlying pelvic floor muscle has been made stretchy elasticated and extends 2-3cm beyond mum's body - thanks to 'Birth Canal Widening' to 10cm diameter painlessly over 6 occasion, prior to birth; Wikipedia UK 'Perineal Massage' my TH-cam videos and Aniball or Epi-no Delphine Plus website and share. Pudendal nerve block was good for my wife. You can do it.
Hello Fiona ! My son is 3 weeks. And I agree giving life is such a beautiful experience. I wish you and your husband blessings in your parenthood. May God protect your baby girl.
I think you were positive, just realistic. If ladies are afraid of pain and expecting it not to be uncomfortable, they're just not basing expectations in reality. Its going to hurt! A lot! But the pain can be a positive with a positive attitude
Exactly the fact of the matter is birthing is painful, the more you keep that mind the better in my honest opinion. I'm due in a month, and that's my game plan, expect pain and focus on my reaction. Her story was great and real!!
Your comment was a year ago but YES. My 2 natural labors had pain and discomfort but I was able to cope well, and they were very positive labors and my satisfaction was high. My one labor with an epidural was not positive, and I felt a lot of sadness and disappointment during and after. The epi just interrupted all the hormonal stuff that needed to happen and I had a hard time bonding with Baby, plus I didn't feel the sense of achievement that I felt with the first 2. I felt like I was handed a baby that I didn't birth. Hoping to go natural again this time and have a positive experience!
I love your story! I view this as a very positive story because pain does not have to equal suffering! And, for me, that's the difference between a good and bad experience. Yes there will be pain in birth, that's normal, but it doesn't have to equal fear, which is what hypnobirth has taught me. And it's so fantastic to see someone actually have that experience. Thank you so much for sharing!
I noticed every delivery is unique and special for a women , ive watched soooooooo many videos , 1 after another all night binging back to back tryna see what I can learn . Yes ur right , it doesn't have to be horrific and that's where the fear of the unknown comes . I'm 30 weeks with a baby boy and I want him out soo bad , that's just me being anxious .
For the people that are saying they can’t watch it because it scares them.... that’s ok, you don’t have to watch it. BUT if you’re planning on having an unmedicated Birth (or any Birth, I guess) it’s soo important to be mentally prepared for the level of pain you’re going to have to endure, in my opinion. I appreciate real stories like this one. My birth was very painful and I don’t sugar coat it because I want women to be prepared so they’ll be able to get through it too! I believe anyone (low risk) can have an unmedicated Birth but ONLY IF you’re mentally prepared and committed.
Beautiful birth story! I loved all the details, from you bumping into your aunt near the lift, to your time keeping and documenting every key moment... so precious!!
Never thought about the vicks vapor rub for motion sickness! Definitely gonna buy some because girl, my morning sickness has not stopped...like at all. It's kinda scary because I'm losing weight instead of gaining.
Lakiela Manning awwwww congratulations 🥰, morning sickness is no fun 😩 I do hope the vicks helps- it was a last minute discovery for me but helped so much with the motion sickness
This was such a beautiful story. I love that you got right into it too. You seemed to have been really in tune with your body as well, which is wonderful. Congratulations on your baby girl!!
Congratulations, Queen! I'm so happy you shared your story. I'm a HypnoBirthing instructor in the U.S. and there are definitely not enough beautiful Black and Brown moms like us sharing their stories or associated with HB. Thanks for using your platform to enlighten others. Many blessings ❤
Yes!! Thank you ! Representation is crucial when trying to debunks myths about birth and get mamas to believe that they deserve a positive and calm birth.
I loved this video for its humour, honesty and positivity. As someone who is 37 weeks with a new born this video has given me life. X blessings and congratulations on your bubba x
Thank you sooo much for taking away all my fears. I was trying to persuade my boyfriend that adoption is nice too, because i was afraid of giving birth. Now i think i can do it. Thank you for that. I wish you and your babygirl the best 😀
I'm so excited for you! I've been watching all youtubers that's given birth, and so anxious for my little bundle to arrive🤣...in June! So I still have a little baking to do. But CONGRATULATIONS!!!!😁🤗
I’m not sure how positive this story is. All you talk about is how painful it is the whole time. What part of the hypnobirthing actually worked for you? This ordeal sounds more scary than anything else.
K Castra the breathing helped me a tonne - it helped me be as relaxed as I could be which definitely meant experiencing less pain. The more tense your body is the more painful an experience it will be- compared to the stories of many of my friends and relatives mine definitely was a positive experience. Birth is painful you can’t entirely escape that - based on my expectations it was positive and not the traumatic experience that so many go through x
Oh when I had my first child I got the stuff you talk about (at 17:15 in your video). I got it for 5½ hour before my daugther got born. Yup it hurt so much I couldn't breath, I was crying, tears just run down, and I only got gas and air.. My water was broke 3 hours before I got the medicine.. It took me 9 years before I got a new baby..
I started the pushing process with my first at midnight and didn't have her until 3:18 that morning, I needed oxygen the last few minutes. 🥰 Congratulations
Congratulations sweetie! such an amazing birth story..I'm glad you had a positive experience and you have inspired those that are expecting to also be positive about the whole process..God Bless You!!! xx
*Wow I had to like before the video even started. You are so strong...whose cutting all the onions I'm literally crying here in the kitchen. This is so beautiful. I've never heard of hypnobirth. But wow you go girl. So proud of you 😘😘♥️ You know I love ya sis but wow what an inspirational birth story, I could feel the love and know for a fact your mum was with you every second of your labour..ughh where's the tissue 😭*
Congratulations again Fiona and a huge well done. Thanking God with you for a safe delivery and the good health of you and baby. And well done to hubby and mum in law for being so supportive, I thank God for their lives ❤️
I thought this was supposed to be positive 😂😂😂 I'm half way through and it just sounds like pain pain pain contractions motion sickness pain pain pain I'm due any day now 😭😭

This story isn’t scary at all... This woman is a rockstar and this is what happens when you birth a human being...
loved every second of this!

Can you purchase the hypnobirthing course if you are ordering from the us? I tried to order and it only had the UK option when entering your address
I'm so happy to find a black woman sharing her story...it took a while lol x

This made my day! Sending you all of the love as you count down to meet your previous girl 🥰
For those about to have their babies, this is NOT a positive story. It doesn’t leave you feeling calm per the hypnobirthing standards. This will give you major anxiety.
TheIAmAwakened 😂😂😂and i’m due any day from now
100%!

I’m 37 weeks and I have loved using that same hypnobirth class!! Can’t wait to put it to use soon too 😆
