Probably not but maybe? This channel is primarily intended to be used for project announcements, so normally I only upload these sorts of rips for soundtracks that I'm told have no good copies on youtube, or something I have a special interest in. Maybe I'll open another channel for game soundtracks in the interest of not polluting this one...
This is pretty neat! Thanks for this! By the way I’m curious if the soundtrack for the original MSX2 version is the same or different from the PC-98 version? I can’t find any info that says there’s any differences and I read that some MSX computers used FM-Synth sound chips so I’m guessing it’s the same between both versions?
Never mind, watched some videos of the MSX2 version and sounds like it does use an FM-Synth sound chip, but it’s completely different from the PC-98 version.
@@funkyal2858 Yeah the OPLL version is what I found as well. There may also be a PSG-only version, since I believe the base MSX2 hardware spec was only a YM2149, no FM at all
Too bad the graphics are terrible in this version of the game... Half of the characters look nothing like their designs and they made the game mature with some things they did including the Head of Suzio and blood in some scenes.
I mean madou monogatari has always been a bit heavier than puyo, pc-98 just took it to more of an extreme. I think it was interesting to see an official take on the series with more mature themes, it's not like it outright harms anything about the franchise and is an excellent stepping stone in regards to how many ppl have started to learn more about madou after hearing a bit about it. I think it has just as much merit as any other installation in the series. Also...a lot of the older madou games have bad graphics, I don't think it's really fair to say this one is particularly terrible when it isn't really an outlier in that regard
@@cat7879 wait, what madou games looked bad graphics wise? a lot of the artwork is pretty good in the pc98 games and onwards. are you thinking of the MSX games or final exam? (though even the MSX games didn't look bad so that just leaves final exam which i'll give to you there the art is really wonky)
Pure eargasm!

@@natarii I heard that all MSX models use an internal PSG sound chip and there was FM-Synth sound chips released as add ons for some MSX2 models.
