Ya I hope so! I know it's not amazing background noise for everyone watching but I'm more concerned about building strong kids and letting them be free and wild.It is definitely lacking in this day and age and I bring him on every adventure to teach him real life lessons and how to deal with adversity. As well as being creative and seeing all of us work hard to create something he will one-day use
We may make it up there on sleds this yr we will see how it goes if we do it will be one wild trip. We may have to bring a hot tent and stove up because we are not fully airtight on the cabin and the stove is not yet plumbed in.
Such a solid frame well done but I’ve got 2 concerns that are bugging me, first why no plywood on the roof under the metal and 2nd those wall on the outside are they gonna hold up and last in 15-20-30 years, maybe should have put up some better siding, anyways amazing job ! Look forward to future videos cheers 🍻
Ya valid concerns for sure the plywood thing is a cost thing as well as a getting it to the property thing being so remote we wanted to do as little runs in with our float trailer. But we will see how it holds up to the snow load. The purlins are spaced pretty close together to evenly take the weight so we will see how it holds up and the pine board and batten is quick and dirty and looks good. We will probably stain it and keep it alive a bit longer but generally speaking you do need to reside it every 5 to 10 yrs but the be honest the huge overhang we have should keep the rain off the walls. The gable ends are a different story as they will be taking heavy rain and wind. Thanks for watching! And the input
Hey thanks for the reply, ya totally understandable, very remote which makes it all that much more special ! Great job keep up the good work ! Stay strong ! Also maybe to think about an addition on that side thats cleared one day, maybe a drop down from the main cabin, anyways cheers again ! GO CANADA ! thats a special place you guys got there !
hahah valid question. because we built it post frame and not stick frame we can cut in and frame the windows after the fact. We have all the windows and not enough time to install them till the spring so we left them out untill we decide where we want them all to go
Great build guys. That little dude is sure going to have some awesome memories of this build
