    Have to agree on that one. Natural stone to shoulder is the best event for showing feats of strength. Classic, its raw, painful, heavy, technical and glorious in all its might.

      Hard to say when Big Z never showed his full pressing or pulling best at his peak.
      But Eddie was the strongest puller and presser, so it's a strong argument, no pun intended 😎

    • @NotASnowflake
      @NotASnowflake 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with @Prime Matt. Big Z is a 🐐 but we have to include Mr. Colorado himself, Brian Shaw. That would be my top 3; Eddie Hall/Big Z and Brian Shaw. In their own right they are all GOATs and have done amazing feats in the strongman world. It's absolutely a pleasure to watch them and others.

      @bronchoped1 No, I didn't forget Thor. I do not like Thor. I can admit he has done some pretty good things as a strongman. However, he is the largest whiney man and has been so disrespectful to the other athletes. So, I don't mention him because I don't want to be disrespectful myself. He acts so entitled, it's disgusting 😒

    if i was there in the intreview i would answer any question , they confused alot of things wsm 2018 was in the philipines , mateusz viper press was at arnold santa monica '19 , matuesz tore his lat before the rogue invitational '21 his deadlift will never be same , tom did 240 kg at wsm '22 not 239 kg etc , but im not complaining i love these podcasts actually.

    When I think strongman, I think lifting some kind of awkward stone overhead is the ultimate test. A deadlift is too technical and just feels like half a lift. I agree with Colin here! No suits, straps or tacky. Bare chested raw strength.

    The event to tell us who's the strongest? Picking up and carrying a cannon on your shoulder. haha Y'all remember seeing Shaw lift that thing up and carry it on Strongest Men in History? That's power. Flipping a car over would be a good test. Would actually love to see who else can lift that Millenium dumbell that Shaw can do reps with. He can pinch grip 2x45 plates..and the Denny stone walk was great too.

    He really shat the bed with his strongest of all time argument.
    1. No one cares about training lifts.
    2. Z has the WSM squat record with 15 reps at 329 kg in 2014.
    3. Biby's got the Axle record at 217 kg.
    4. Thor's got the deadlift record at 501 kg.

    • @AdamA-qc6nc
      @AdamA-qc6nc 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why does everyone seem to forget Z matched the same reps with a heavier weight in 2014? Even on the british broadcast in 2017 they say nobody has matched Eddie yet it literally happened three years earlier. I just don't get it, surely doing the same reps 10kg more is more impressive but apparently not because it's Eddie.

    • @jameskey9601
      @jameskey9601 2 ปีที่แล้ว

       @AdamA2327 I chalk it down to recency bias, fans commonly give greater importance to more recent athletes & performances.
      The likes of Hall & Thor brought thousands of new eyes to the sport, and it is much harder for them to remember the greatness of older generations of athletes & their performances, than the ones they see in front of them.
      Trust me, I've been following strongman for a long time and I've seen it happen to every "great". Even unluckier are the athletes, who would still be monsters today but didn't win the biggest titles e.g. Kiri, Badenhorst, Virastyuk, Kokylaev, Poundstone, Wilson etc.

    • @AlejandroSanchez-pl6jw
      @AlejandroSanchez-pl6jw 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AdamA-qc6nc because people didn’t see the full might of Big Z. He rep out others max for reps. Has won deadlift events. Same as Mariusz Pudz who dominated static events. It’s popularity today than then.

    • @AdamA-qc6nc
      @AdamA-qc6nc 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AlejandroSanchez-pl6jw Yes Pudz actually did win a lot of static events although any of the maxes he ever won would be last place or close to it these days. Still a beast for his time though and if he'd competed today with the advancements I think he'd still be a powerhouse. I think he was well conditioned but there were absolute stronger men competing in his time, hence why he wasn't as good as the ASC.
