"Go in store on release day" Man, wish I had thought of that! And taking off work and losing guaranteed money so risk finding Pokémon is ridiculous. Use common sense people.
For the casual collections who have no interest in reselling: Check your local game shops. I'm talking about mom and pop, brick and mortar shops that limit booster boxes and the different bundles per customer. Even though the local shops might charge a small bit more than Pokemon's MSRP, it's probably your best bet. Most shops are really decent about limiting and not overcharging. I believe the average price for booster boxes at my local shops are going to be around $140 to $160, which imo is worth it as a casual who just enjoys opening boxes. Also, a better alternative would be to avoid buying from scalped posts and just buying the individual cards after a few weeks. You will spend significantly less than just ripping packs at scalped prices or trying your luck with retailers.
I was lucky to grab a few on release, but there is no way I am going to buy an ETB for a product that just came out for that price. The product is only worth what people will pay for it, and the more people that buy at these crazy prices out of FOMO is just going to feed the beast that may slowly kill the hobby
Ive managed to place plenty of manual preorders for prismatic using public trackers and restock monitors. There has only been 1-2 actual restocks at each major retailer most of the in and out of stock your seeing now is small batches of returns that will get eaten up in seconds. When an actual restock happens of 1000's of items its pretty trivial to get some as long as your available and receiving notifications.
If you think that this is gonna stay at msrp then you don’t know pokemon because pokemon company is gonna print this to the moon once people start complaining don’t worry it’s a company and they want money 😂😂😂

Well it’s a valid point and the true only way to get it at MSRP. Of course there is a big risk. But oh well

Don't think people understand that this set will get a 2nd wave reprint and if it gets bad enough might just get the shining fates treatment.

“You might have to do something sketchy.” And that’s why it will forever be inflated.
