A trick from big western wood loggers I have used when I need a real precise fall and don't trust my sights : put a stake in the desired lay and measure from that stake exactly the same distance to each side of the tree. Equidistant triangle means perfectly gunned face. I used it on my last 3 big yard euc videos.
Good way to go. I love the bore cut. Especially with learners. Seams like your face cut is really small. the notch closed almost instantly. didnt hurt anything obviously.
