I got the same smoker (pbv5cs) you have and on your video you have a problem with your sealing it because your door handle is on backwards. The small side goes toward the back..
I did a 22 pound turkey in my 5 series. my bird of choice is a Butterball. I like Lumberjack pellets. I went to Lowes and got some Awesome to spray on the door. My series 5 doesn't have that controller. I think you'll really like it.
Hey man where’d you get your 5 is it the copperhead? Do you like it? I’m thinkn of upgrading from my Masterbuilt 30in electric. Can’t get good skin on my birds an bark on my beef. Too much moisture.
George, Thanks for the review of the Pit Boss Vertical 5 Series Competition Series Pellet Smoker. Can you tell me how much room there is from the top rack position to the water tray? I'm asking because I smoke deer summer sausage logs and they would hang from the top rack with an S hook, the casings are 2.5wx20 inches long and hang by the casing string so that's why I need that measurement. I know the series 7 units work for my application but they are very hard to find right now and pit boss doesn't have a Wi-Fi controller for the series 5 or 7 vertical smokers.
WOW ok I can measure later today as I will brush off the snow. My wireless works great once I had help setting it up with piteous. I hung 28 2 Lbs summer sausages in the smoker with a little room to spare before teh water try. Let me get teh tape measure first ok. Give me just a little time will get you the answer
Well i bought one last week and it damn near caught my RV on fire when the grease from the ribs caught fire internally . Its going to kill someone or burn a house down some day . If i wasn't around i would have lost it all .
yes i did . I have a Pit Boss Pro 11 Series that i never have issues with . I think that it couldnt handle 8 racks of ribs and it was the grease leaked down the back wall into the center and into the burner . @@danieljohn4603

I noticed your latch issue, it’s backwards the wider end of the black metal is actually a handle the shorter end is for the latch catch.

George your door is gapped because they installed the door handle backwards. Flip that thing around.

Did you have the grease tray in? Did you have water in the water pan? If your answer is no to either of these questions, that is what a fire started.

Your handle is on wrong on the door. I just put mine together today and my son did my door handle the same way and I had to put it on correctly

You have a crack in the door because you bought the floor model. Door has probably been opened and closed 1000 times already.
