Rico, you did a beautiful refit. I would absolutely reinstall a dishwasher but the owner’s wishes are the rule. I love the skylights and find that they have made maximum use of space.

Just stunning. What an amazing vessel. It was great to see some new (to me) layout and space use designs. The kitchen, the less used head space in the cabins, the spare or crew cabins, the workshop/ bench. That was all very very inventive
what I know for sure is that I have seen so many Moody yacht showings and none of them have explained to me what the plan is for when water gets into the cockpit and starts to run into the saloon, until this one. Really great and professional job guys.
Lovely refit :-)! Personally I'd definitely want a double sink, apart from anything else if you have stuff that needs doing but don't have the time to do it now you can put it in one sink and still have another sink to use, make cutting boards to fit on top of them too so if you want to you can put them in and just use it as more work top.

Always go for the one big sink! You can put food to thaw in a pan or a bowl - but you can't wash bigger things in a small double sink... I'll never have a double sink again 😉.

After reading a few of the comments, one large sink is the way to go. Victoria, what is wrong with you? Washing dishes is therapeutic. The liftable carpet is a genius idea. Interior space utilization is way better than the space shuttle!
The Moody DS series are probably my favorite monohulls, and the 62 is probably the sweet spot for size and performance. The only criticism I have for them is the helm positions with ZERO protection. Sure, you could maybe put an ugly bimini on there or something, but I'd rather they just put a full helm inside for when the weather is awful. Other than that...PERFECT monohull. Thanks for the tour!
But the helms stations are "sporting" and if you have the canvas on the sides of the roof, you have forward protection.. and frankly as soon as you are off-shore you are probably sailing underpowered and from the pilothouse, my biggest qualm would be why they did put the drivers position in the BACK of the inside.. but clearly they relented and on the 54 they put the driver up front (sorry helmsman) with great forward visibility

about the unfreezing/thawing thing. The best way to thaw meats is to place the meat in a ziploc bag and submerge it in very hot water in a pot or large bowl. Keeping the ziptop above the water. It thaws very quickly and doesn't partly cook the meat! P.S. this works for any food items that are frozen.
And "aubergine" is totally an English word, it's just that a lot of English speakers don't know it, haha. (And I agree "eggplant" as a colour is different to "aubergine" in English... or should be. Egglplant is a redder purple, aubergine is a browner purple. I think the hull is aubergine).
I finished watching this, cleaned up after my lunch and went to my twin sinks and washed my dishes. I have two dishwasher, my left hand and my right hand. It's relaxing. Good job on the refit!
I'm not a monohull guy but I appreciate that you're featuring more sailing yachts knowing you two are motor yacht aficionados. Looks like a great yacht with many interesting features. Not often that you see a cockpit on the same level as the salon in a monohull, and one of the main reasons I prefer catamarans. Wishing good luck and a quick sale for the current owners.
That is a beautiful sailing vessel. Love the look of the interior woodwork. Great job on the refit Rico. My only sailing experience was decades ago on a city reservoir on a 20' boat. It was a blast, especially when the spinnaker was let out and the boat would tilt to one side at a pretty good angle. My uncle, who owned the boat, eventually ended up living on a catamaran with his wife. They would divide their time between Vancouver, Canada and Florida.
I think a two sided sink is best for exactly the reason you said. To split dirty dishes from clean, as you’re cleaning. Another wonderful display of a beautiful boat from your guys…

Definitely two sinks. Never lived on a yacht, but besides using a smaller second sink for defrosting foods, it is great for soaking and cleaning veggies.
A *beautiful* original boat design with a *beautiful* and highly functional refit. (Rico - that internal helm desk is genius!!!) I wonder if rear helm stations, seating area and davits could be covered with a structure that would support 2-3 kwatts of solar, minimizing use of diesel generator.

GREAT VIDEO AGAIN! Love your videos. As for the sail boat - customize the crew cabin and make it the owner's cabin; make the master cabin into the captin and stew quarters; and depending if you need additional crew or not, make the small cabins into food storage and laundry rooms.

Love this boat. I saw two of the smaller models at the Southampton Boat Show a few years back and I loved the concept. I guess my only gripe would be the view from the helm position but that’s pretty minor. I spent many years at Moody’s boatyard before they were taken on by Hanse. They always built a solid boat and it is good to see them still being innovative and building beautiful yachts. Andy UK

That is a nice boat indeed. One thing I will adopt to mine is that extra piece to prevent water getting in on higher seas. But as for dishwasher, if I had to have minimalist boat, it would have a hull, deck and dishwasher. 🤪
I really like the configuration of this sailboat, with the salon on the main deck leading right out to the cockpit. However it sacrifices a midship master cabin like I've seen on a few similarly sized sailing yachts. Thanks for the nice review!

Storage is ALWAYS more important than a dishwasher!!! I would also find another place for a smaller microwave and make the bigger area towards the centerline into more refrigeration or refrigerator/freezer area.

a Dish washer is a two handed operation. That is a beautiful vessel in so many ways...destine to be a classic.
A Defrost sink is a must have - also for when you need a small amount of water but a decent depth. for rinsing fruit and veg for example.

I like the double sink. But the secondary would be larger. I use the larger one for soaking and soaping and the smaller for scraping and rinsing

@@NautiStyles I respect women too much 😂😂. All jokes aside, I never put pots and pans in the dishwasher and for a couple of plates it's just as easy to clean quick. For more, yeah for dishwasher 😉
