Moffett Forklift Rollover | Quick and Easy

  • Quick and easy rollover using the Tator. We were going to use the roll bed with the side puller and use my pickup to control it but he couldn’t get in there even with diff lock. The ground was too much powder, the rotator made it in by going back and forth and compacting the ground and locking the axles. If you’re wondering why we didn’t just lift it and rotate it’s because you can’t lift on the mast where we were holding it. Also, the owner didn’t want it lifted, only wanted it rolled back over then towed on a roll bed. Hope you enjoy this quick simple video!

a irish invention and still made in Ireland today. but sold by the Moffett family to hiab, The Moffett Mounty truck-mounted forklift was first launched by the company in 1986. The firm's 250,000 sq m Dundalk facility exports 95pc of everything it produces. Its products are sold in 40-plus countries from about 50 local dealers.

Let some air out of your tires in the sand and it makes a huge difference. I'm sure you carry an air line on all your heavy wreckers so you could fill them back up afterwards. Kinda like going 4 wheeling in the sand dunes. Passenger 4X4 normally has around 35 psi. When we used to go wheeling in the sand we lowered the air pressure down to 12 to 18 psi and never got stuck. Run those drive tires from 125 psi down to about 45 to 55 psi and you will go through the sand with no problem. Nice recovery guy's. Stay safe.

I can not believe they are building homes in that soft sandy ground. No stability for a foundation. It is going to sink or get washed away in a torrential rain storm. Surprised you actually had a truck with enough traction control & stability to get over to the flipped over Moffett. You could see the Moffett trying to flip back over when they released it. Surprised nobody twisted an ankle. Great recovery.

Just for the heck of it (I have too much time on my hands), these are things that stood out for me in the video ~~ enormously large houses around there ~~ all that sand ~~ the rotator looked massive in this video ~~ you had more vehicles and men on site than I would have guessed but then I realized you had to load the forklift on the truck ~~~ how flat the landscape is ~~ the horizon across the road looked sort of smoggy ~~~ Anyway, I hope you all have a merry Christmas and a happy/healthy new year.

sand would be an improvement. It's more like flour, moon dust. Just 1 dust storm away from carrying a few 100 cubic yards of it off!

That back Moffett tire was low on tread. Moffetts don't work well in that soft of sand. If that's where the forks were when it was flipped over the load was being carried too high. I've learned my lesson the hard way in that sand too.

Hopefully operator didn't get hurt! Customers and clients don't understand that a Moffett has limited operational abilities. Operators have died during deliveries due to moffett flipping.

When I see in the video where a vehicle rolled over, regardless of which recovery company's TH-cam video I'm watching, if the driver of that vehicle needed a change of under shorts. 💩
