@lTheOfficialJesusChristChannel Brutes are stronger than spartans and tankier. Also atiox could have like 70 years of experience to got with it and he also has power armor. Also Chief was probably concussed after the first hit which made him fight slow.
I do wonder if the infinity is completely totalled or is still some what holding together some where. The UNSC had ONE ship of this caliber and it was dwarfed by a single Covenant Supercarrier (~6km in length vs. ~30km in length). That's like the Empire in Star Wars having ONE Imperial Star Destroyer while their enemy has fleets comprised of Super Star Destroyers and Death Stars.

Yeah if Blue team was there, things might have gone down differently. It's worth mentioning that Chief had some Spartan IVs with him on the Infinity, and we see some of them during Halo Infinite like Spartan Griffin.
@FootedGhost the problem is, atriox and his augmentation FAR outpace that of spartan 4s. So really, all they could have done is provide fire support. But in CQC they would have risked injuring or worse, killing the chief even WITH spartan time. Such a massive missed opportunity to have the Infinity crashed on the map that would’ve been a spiritual successor to the Pillar of Autumn from Halo CE.
Reasonable explanation as to why they lost they where undermanned and went in not expecting the banished to jump them We also know the banished had a guardian killer weapon that they could of shot at infinity disabling it Personally I’m fine with them destroying the ship sets the tone of the game but the first mission should of been on the infinity
they had a guardian killing weapon? WTF?!! where and how the hell did they get that, the game should've been about that and taking down cortana and atriox!
@@ghostlyswat12and im saying it should've been in the game! honestly the fact infinite skips so much of the important stuff pisses me off, it's actually worse than 5 in this regard.
I like how parred down the UNSC is. Like, at this point there are 10 or so Autumn class heavy cruisers (think Pillar of Autumn, but they have potent shields). Even just those 10 ships with frigate escort would tear the Banished navy apart. The damn things could go five on one and still win. Not to mind the dozens of orbital platforms, several dozen active Spartans, 20 Marathon heavy cruisers, millions of soldiers, tens of thousands of fighters, and individual nuclear weapons strong enough to knock out a planet. Even after The Didact and Cortana (neither of which caused much in the way of naval casualties, considering the damage they did in general) the Banished are just plot armor right now. They're trying to make them this ungodly huge threat, but they have nowhere NEAR the capabilities of the Covenant. So it just falls flat.
First the Pillar of Autumn, then the In Amber Clad, then the Forward Unto Dawn, and now possibly the Infinity. Bungie and 343 beat the “destroy the main ship you get attached to” trope like a dead horse.
The way Chief describes his defeat against Atriox wasn't simple: "He beat me really badly." He went full detail, someone who's never lost a fight, their first loss will always be a reminder for them and will haunt them, I have a feeling it may come back to haunt Chief when he confront Atriox or somewhere during the campaign in the new Halo game.
Well when you put it like that, yeah a colony ship playing cat and mouse with with one dreadnought seems more absurd then one supercarrier getting mugged by 4 Dreadnoughts
It feels like there are a lot of ships that jump through slip space alone or with small forces and just get fucked up in halo lore and I don’t get why they would think it a good idea especially when they know they got bad guys with entire fleets just chilling at several spots in soace
This was a great setup for how dangerous the Banished is. Humanity's greatest ship taken out in 4 minutes due to the perfect ambush and them already on the run from Cortana. Made me excited to get back into the fight as Chief to avenge this massive loss. Thank you 343
They should have let us fight in this battle. Could have been the PERFECT call back to OG Halo 1 fighting to evacuate the pillar of autumn and I think that alone would have had halo infinite start off on the right foot for everyone
I feel like 343 took the criticism from Halo 5 and completely overcorrected it. That is why they basically got rid of every none Master Chief character. Honestly, they need to come out with a quick DLC that follows Agent Lock or Captain Lasky during the 6 months the chief was MIA to help explain all the questions.
The Infinity should have been the tutorial level. When they were getting attacked and raided and then Atriox should have been an unbeatable bossfight by the end so much missed potential.
So is the Infinity gone for good or could we possibly see her again on day. Or maybe she does get destroyed and the next massive ship we get is Spirit of Fire
No. Chief lost that one fair and square either way. Wouldn’t be the first time. Chief almost lost a fight to some no name brute on the Unyielding Hierophant, too.
@@lTheOfficialJesusChristChannel Chief is old. He himself admitted he was defeated brutally. All of Red Team was, too. As far as the reaction time goes, my guess is we- even as the player- are experiencing cutscenes in Spartan Time (which is the only explanation I have for why everything is so slow)
@@azzythechristianfurry I don't know if Atriox surprising Chief while he's panicked, mentally exhausted, probably physically exhausted, basically unarmed, and trying to defend evacuation transports counts as "fair and square." That also counts for Red Team. He's never really fought Spartan IIs or IIIs without the element of surprise. Probably because they're fucking dangerous. He'd probably not like to chance a Spartan turning him into mist with a Stanchion rifle or a Spartan Laser. Also, Chief almost got a shot off on Atriox's head. Which without a helmet or shields (of which he has neither) WOULD have killed him.
Just when you thought the Infinity was going to be humanity’s hero ship after Cortana’s attack. Now it’s up to the Spirit of Fire to bring humanity out of the darkness. Maybe if humanity can finish her sister ship the Eternity then humanity can rebound.
Three things to take away from this kids. 1. 343 can’t write a good story to save their lives. Hell 343 try and write a bad story and I guarantee it’ll be the next big hit. 2. Master Chief is basically fucking useless when we’re not playing as him. 3. The UNSC are fucking useless. You send a ship on a mission to defeated Cortana and don’t have it fully manned?
Well we know she wasn't ambushed right away because in the book The Didact is watching as Infiniti pops out of split space they don't really say much after that but Atriox was on the ground, so more than likely Infiniti tanked a guardian then was ambushed while she was already beaten
Also it canonically didn't see the ambush coming, from space ships 500 years in the future, with sensors monitored by highly advanced ai, boosted by forerunner tech, because the attack came from the direction of the sun.
UNSC Ships the Master Chief was on and their fate: Pillar of Autumn - Crash Landed on Delta Halo, Intentional Sabotage to Ships Engine Reactors lead to the detonation of the ship and the Destruction of Installation 04. In Amber Clad - Overrun by Flood Infestation Sometime Before the Mission: High Charity, Destroyed via Crash Landing into the Holy City. Forward Unto Dawn - Split in Half during the Battle of the Ark, after a Slipspace Portal Collapses into the Ship, causing the Fore Section to Crash into the Indian Ocean, while the Aft Section drifted through space, before reaching Requiem. Infinity - Engaged by 4 Banished Destroyers, Rammed, Boarded and Overrun by Banished Forces, which is Lead by Atriox and His Inner Circle of Followers: "The Hand of Atriox" Destroyed over Zeta Halo during the Intro of Halo: Infinite.
It would’ve awesome if the odds were stacked against Chief like his luck was completely out for a moment. The Banished forces are all in front of him he’s out of ammo. Ships and Phantoms are about to take action. All of a sudden a glass beam bursts through the atmosphere destroying a ship and it’s the Arbiter. Thel Vadame shows up with his fleet with backup. Then you hear radio chatter through Chief’s helmet with the Arbiter talking to him saying stuff similar to what Iron Man said to Black Widow in Avengers. That would’ve been an awesome comeback for Arbiter and for Chief to get help.
It's still a hard pill to swallow that the banished couldn't destroy a small frigate but was somehow able to destroy the UNSC's biggest ship I'm hoping halo 7 sheds some more light on the ships destruction if it was destroyed at all
We are 3 years and a half in halo and we still havent gotten any campaign dlc or anything just multiplayer which isnt fair, literally everyone is coming together snd hoping the spirit of fire meets up with chief and maybe infinity since it did survive due to jumping at the last moment which is in a book i cant remember well, not to mention where was blue team and team Osiris i think 343 just didnt plan it well to begin with especially killing cortana in just small cutscenes instead of experiencing it in the game almost like halo 4
Aside from 343 not actually being true to the story, i have a theory.. John is still the luckiest Spartan. Chief being beaten and thrown out into space instead of just summarily executed was his luck in action. Because without that, he couldn't have freed Weapon, and defeated the Banished later. Also, the Spartan IV's weren't the Spartans that Humanity needed, so they got destroyed.
On the southern part of the map there is a crashed guardian. The theory is that infinity first fought and killed a guardian which could have disabled many of infinity's systems making them an easy target for the banished. When the covenant ship get rammed by infinity you see the covenant ship has its shields get disabled. But you dont see that on infinity when it gets rammed telling us shields werent up at the time. Halo infinite decided to not show the most interesting part of the story but instead give out bits and pieces of it durring their mediocre campaign

@lTheOfficialJesusChristChannel Brutes are stronger than spartans and tankier. Also atiox could have like 70 years of experience to got with it and he also has power armor. Also Chief was probably concussed after the first hit which made him fight slow.
The Infinity ♾️ is lost we are not.”
- Spartan Sorel
I didn't know it was under crewed at the time. somehow that explains alot.
Next time the eternity shall enter into service
Oh boy this is so cool! If only we got to see it from the Dam beginning!
Atriox was like "ill drop you on a planet demon, and be done with you."
Chief was like "oh boy, here i go i again."
I like how he said “only 7000” lmao
Dude I want more of Atriox, he's one of the coolest villains in halo
He will be back, don't you worry 😉
Ngl definitely a better monkey than tartarsauce
Play halo wars, nerd

@@Angels-Playground Hey! You leave my boy Retartarus alone!
I hope one day, the UNSC comes with more powerfull ship!!!
I believe in the most up to date lore that they built 1-2 more infinity class ships, or they are currently being built.
Don’t forget, Chief nearly landed a headshot on Atriox, and if he’d had an AI in his armor, he would’ve been able to do it.
Good point! He almost got him!
I do wonder if the infinity is completely totalled or is still some what holding together some where. BTW you know the Helldivers at home map, some of my prefab are in it , with the most prominent being the right research site in the middle of the camp and the command tower in the distance at the end .
I 100% think she's not completely destroyed, and more likely crashed onto the surface of the ring. I'm hoping we see it (even if destroyed) and Captain Lasky again in the next game.
Oh wow good stuff bro, I'll need to check that out!! :)
Yeah your probably right, I still think they have kept it intentionally vague like what they have done with Locke. Also it is so bloody cool that some of my prefab are in something so many people have played, I only hope to see more people use them to help with their maps.
All the stuff with the Infinity and Laskey that was only in audio recordings should have been cutscenes
Pension to make jerome a playable character right here
Crazy how none of this made it into the games
One thing we know about the Banished Dreadnaughts that ambushed the Infinity is that the front of the ships have giant gravity weapons that give off the same effect as the gravity hammer when they collide with something, meaning theses ships are literally giant multi-million tonne Gravity Hammers, another thing we know is that they were built as lifeboats for the Brute species (literally the same reason the Infinity was built for Humanity) meaning Escharum was lying when he said that loosing one of these ships meant nothing.
The only mistake Atriox made that day was leaving THE Master Chief alive and not taking him as a trophy
If they tried that on an Imperial battleship they would’ve broke their wimpy xenos tugboat
If that was the starting mission for infinite I would have finished the campaign
this is why you need FLEETs to accompany large capital ships
only if we had a team to help chief maybe things would have been different
Yeah if Blue team was there, things might have gone down differently. It's worth mentioning that Chief had some Spartan IVs with him on the Infinity, and we see some of them during Halo Infinite like Spartan Griffin.
@FootedGhost the problem is, atriox and his augmentation FAR outpace that of spartan 4s. So really, all they could have done is provide fire support. But in CQC they would have risked injuring or worse, killing the chief even WITH spartan time.
Edit: we know this BTW because atriox was a 1-1 match with the chief... and the chief would ABSOLUTELY STOMP a spartan 3 or 4 in fisticuffs
@@Angels-Playground most spartan 3s are comparable to IIs in physical statistics with some spartan iiis having feats comparable to the best and brightest of the iis all whilst using SPI instead of mjolnir
@@Angels-PlaygroundIIIs are just like IIs in strength and training. They died so much due to their worse treatment
@superk9letsplays419 that isn't true. Spartan 2s recieved substantially more potent augmentations and armor. The armor is an integral part of the Spartans physical capabilities as its the force amplifier. So clearly you don't know as much as you'd like to about the halo universe
Such a massive missed opportunity to have the Infinity crashed on the map that would’ve been a spiritual successor to the Pillar of Autumn from Halo CE.
Reasonable explanation as to why they lost they where undermanned and went in not expecting the banished to jump them
We also know the banished had a guardian killer weapon that they could of shot at infinity disabling it
Personally I’m fine with them destroying the ship sets the tone of the game but the first mission should of been on the infinity
they had a guardian killing weapon? WTF?!! where and how the hell did they get that, the game should've been about that and taking down cortana and atriox!
@@dg7347 they talk about it in the books
So it just falls flat.
i wish we saw lasky in halo infinite hes my favorite side character
The Infinity: 😢
Spirit of Fire: 😒
Seeing the infinity get stomped so easily was my first clue that infinite was not gonna be the savior of a halo game that halo needed.
Still waiting for that rematch with atriox
Likewise, it's going to be good! 👀
Can't wait for that fight to become a thing just to be retconned
First the Pillar of Autumn, then the In Amber Clad, then the Forward Unto Dawn, and now possibly the Infinity. Bungie and 343 beat the “destroy the main ship you get attached to” trope like a dead horse.
at least the infinity lasted for 2 full games, maybe 3 if it returns in the next one.
Spirit of fire: 🗿
We need DLC with that battle
we should've gotten an actual game.
It feels like there are a lot of ships that jump through slip space alone or with small forces and just get fucked up in halo lore and I don’t get why they would think it a good idea especially when they know they got bad guys with entire fleets just chilling at several spots in soace
People forget the infinity was basically outta weopons and fuel. They couldn’t run or fight back. Basically day 1 of Iwo Jima
This was a great setup for how dangerous the Banished is. Humanity's greatest ship taken out in 4 minutes due to the perfect ambush and them already on the run from Cortana. Made me excited to get back into the fight as Chief to avenge this massive loss. Thank you 343
I feel like the forerunner key ship shouldve played a part in it since the banished apparently wield it now
They should have let us fight in this battle. Could have been the PERFECT call back to OG Halo 1 fighting to evacuate the pillar of autumn and I think that alone would have had halo infinite start off on the right foot for everyone
The infinity had so many Spartans on board and had escort ships it couod launch. It seems like 343 doesn't know what it wants of halo.
I still believe the Infinity is still around, no way the banished would wast a prize
Really liked this game, a big step up from Halo 5, I hope the next installment is as good as this
So is the Infinity gone for good or could we possibly see her again on day. Or maybe she does get destroyed and the next massive ship we get is Spirit of Fire
We all know atriox would have been shocked if Chief gave it his all. But he spent his time running after cortanas chip and trying to save the others
No. Chief lost that one fair and square either way.
Wouldn’t be the first time. Chief almost lost a fight to some no name brute on the Unyielding Hierophant, too.
@@azzythechristianfurry def was not Spartan II reaction time, bro got turned into Locke
@@lTheOfficialJesusChristChannel
Chief is old. He himself admitted he was defeated brutally.
All of Red Team was, too.
As far as the reaction time goes, my guess is we- even as the player- are experiencing cutscenes in Spartan Time (which is the only explanation I have for why everything is so slow)
@@azzythechristianfurry nah, the only player with spartan timing is mintblitz💀
Plot convince.
Atriox: I killed chief!
The entire banished: YOU HAD ONE JOB ATRIOX
Master chief: you don fucked up
Doesn’t matter how powerful the ship is, Ambushes and being outnumbered tend to always beat firepower.
you telling me this ship can bitchslap a CSS supercarrier head on but isnt even able to flew an ambush of three dreadnoughts?
It should've been the first mission of the game
Just when you thought the Infinity was going to be humanity’s hero ship after Cortana’s attack. Now it’s up to the Spirit of Fire to bring humanity out of the darkness.
Maybe if humanity can finish her sister ship the Eternity then humanity can rebound.
why does this remind me of the story of the bismarck
Three things to take away from this kids.
1. 343 can’t write a good story to save their lives. Hell 343 try and write a bad story and I guarantee it’ll be the next big hit.
2. Master Chief is basically fucking useless when we’re not playing as him.
3. The UNSC are fucking useless. You send a ship on a mission to defeated Cortana and don’t have it fully manned?
I was always curious why the UNSC's Supercarrier didn't have... y'know. A carrier group.
Would be interesting if 343 brought Infinity’s sister ship, The Eternity, into the next game
The one question I do have is. Where was the captain after master chief woke up?
You and me both. Captain Lasky is not a throw away character, we need a proper on screen conclusion for him.
Time for the eternity
Thanks for recapping that which was obvious during the opening cutscene of halo infinite lol
I was more so highlighting how and why they were defeated so easily by the Banished.
actually did a better job of explaining the story than the entirety of infinite.
Well we know she wasn't ambushed right away because in the book The Didact is watching as Infiniti pops out of split space they don't really say much after that but Atriox was on the ground, so more than likely Infiniti tanked a guardian then was ambushed while she was already beaten
BRUTAL defeat hahahaha i see what you did there 😂😂😂😂
All you need is big monke to destroy infinity
Also it canonically didn't see the ambush coming, from space ships 500 years in the future, with sensors monitored by highly advanced ai, boosted by forerunner tech, because the attack came from the direction of the sun.
But the spirit of fire humanity's like oldest surviving ship can wipe a banished army
UNSC Ships the Master Chief was on and their fate:
Pillar of Autumn - Crash Landed on Delta Halo, Intentional Sabotage to Ships Engine Reactors lead to the detonation of the ship and the Destruction of Installation 04.
I bet the UNSC ship took a very long time to build
Honestly. If we as the player playing the cheif. The hanger or even better the infinity would have never fallen.
Hay umm atriox did you forget to tell your forces to not attack the hanger you in😅
It has a sister ship named serenity so maybe she'll make an appearance
It's still a hard pill to swallow that the banished couldn't destroy a small frigate but was somehow able to destroy the UNSC's biggest ship I'm hoping halo 7 sheds some more light on the ships destruction if it was destroyed at all
The ship didnt do too bad being outnumbered by a whole army vs one ship
Atriox's plot armour is not even surpassed by Batman.
Is dreadnought class different from the Dreadnought in Halo 2 and 3?
It's almost like they should've had a lot of little ships instead of one big stupid ship
