I have a nickel plated 49 made in 1975 C15 serial number. . I don't hardly shoot it as it is my wife's house gun, it is outfitted with a laser grip... It has a nice trigger pull... Your revolvers look in nice shape too..good video..
I have a model 38-2 that I carried for awhile, it has wear where the barrel protracted out of the holster. I also have the 638 , that I'll carry. You don't see them very often , my 638 I bought at rural king for $346 , and I haven't seen them back there in awhile. I didn't like the the bodyguard 38 , the cylinder release, or the trigger. The one without the laser was going for $250 , before covid , but now everything is expensive
@@JG-xt9io thanks for commenting. I haven’t seen a model 38 in my travels yet, I still debate getting a 638 every time I see one. I really don’t like the bodyguard 38 either, and yes prices have climbed a lot since covid
@ The horrific footage from Vietnam was seared into my brain when I somehow saw it when I was just a little kid… forever associate the Airweight with that now.
Excellent video and history lesson. The bluing on those old Smiths is so nice.
@@stevenr1354 thanks!
Carried a model 49 for the last 35 years and have had no issues
@@terryadams237 they’re great pistols

Why do you guys not like the 38? I was thinking on getting either the 38 or 49
Had a model 38 Airweight yrs ago , should have kept it.
Have a lot of stories like that 😢
They’re such cool guns, despite looking goofy
