    i just use an older Manfrotto heavy duty camera tripod I had. Added a Hog clamp to the super smooth ball head that was on the Manfrotto. Used my .270 with it and stable as you would need.....

    I done something similar a couple weeks ago with pretty much the same cheapo tripod of Amazon. To mount it I took a knockoff Atlas bipod I had and butchered it for the picatinny plate then drilled and tapped it and bolted it to the tripod plate. Works pretty good 😎👍

    Absolutly no difference between camera and rifle tripods. You can get a camera tripod with a leg length giving you 160 cm without the need for the ctr. stalk thus increasing stability. All you need then is a ball head and a pig saddle and you're in business. You want 30mm carbon fiber diameter top leg sections or above. This is all the shooting firms have done; they have simply taken the camera tripod and have adapted it, then upped the price by the usual 100%.
    Lol... most are made in Either Japan or China and then branded as American/British/European etc.
    Good video 👍

      Agree completely, absolutely no difference but the shooting industry know a lot of shooters will pay for what they think is a superior product.

    You have another trigger guard that came with the rifle, weld it to the plate, keep the longer guard for use with the bipod. Great channel mate.

    The Bog deathgrip is only 129.99 and they make a carbon for 200.00. It comes with one of those clamps already on it which works good for wooden stocks but I need to find a way to attach a rail mount.

    funny I got the same one. Works good with chrono and camera. I was thinking of doing this same thing too. But didn't make a mount yet have to invent something to mount it to the rail on my crowns plastic stock. Could not fine anything like what you found for it for sale here. Nice! I guess great mines think alike. 🤓

    It looks like exactly like my K&F Concept tripod, so probably just a different sticker on it...
    The arca swill rail fitts in the clamp. You loose the center balance but its not too bad. They make a conversion from picatinny to arca swiss too .

    You need to try a tripod fluid head. I switched my long tele photo setup to a fluid gimballed head, it’s nuts. Stabilizes all motion but still allows you to swing around quickly (the particular head i’m using drops the resistance the faster you move), and the gimbal makes it possible to balance the setup on both axes until it just stays wherever you leave it.

    • @oorcinus
      @oorcinus 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Too much moolah for something to just kick around and not care about if it gets dinged, though.

  • @marcegrecco53
    @marcegrecco53 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You should look into a Slik tripod, reasonably priced and heavy duty, actually used for rifles. It’s about $ 100.00 American.

  • @ozludo

    Take a look at portable tripods for astronomy. The heavy ones are barely portable and can be wildly expensive, but at the lighter end you find many that are sturdy and have very smooth pan/tilt heads. In Aus check companies like BinTel, Sirius Optics or Astro-Alive. The Saxon HVT is ~$180 and rock solid. There are also tripods for spotting scopes that should do the job, but they might not be tall enough. Still, Bushnell and Celestron mounts go stupidly cheap on eBay.

    When asking why Imperial and not metric consider aviation and specifically separation of aircraft. Presently they are separated vertically by 1000 feet (below 18,000 feet and 2000 feet above 18,000 which is designated "flight level one eight zero" (FL180)). (Or longitudinally by a number of nautical miles which varies by type aircraft and availability of radar monitoring.) Everything in air traffic control worldwide is in English and feet (and nautical miles). First problem is how do you divide and designate assignable altitudes in meters without losing an assignable altitude or reducing vertical separation?
    Second problem is instrumentation. All those very expensive avionics are calibrated and labeled in feet and nautical miles. Remember this transition would also have to be dead simple and instantaneous. You couldn't have aircraft operating on different separation and navigation systems in the same sky. How could you simultaneously change all those systems without having them run in tandem for some period of time (nightmare).
    At some point aircraft will become autonomous enough to separate and sequence themselves. Until then the separation system must take into account vastly different performance characteristics and airborne and land based operating equipment. Cost to retrofit today's fleet would be astronomical. Why are we changing again?
    Hope I didn't bore you my brother, it's a topic I was very familiar with long ago and far away.

      I don't doubt it has its place and would be very difficult to change, I just very much enjoy poking fun at it haha people for some reason decided 12 was a better base number then 10, I think possibly being the first life forms in the universe and not knowing any better might have something to do with it haha

    ,hello do you have still the problem that fx magazines are jamming ,?get the mag apart ,get the spring under right tension and put rotor back ,ad the litlle spring and 2,5 mm balls and open/lockhandel of the mag ,put some mild loctite at the nut at the underside and put the allen 2,5 mm bolt back, turn it on hand thight and then a little back ,so the pellet rotor can move freely and lube with thin silicon oil under the allan head. parts 1 nut ,1 allanbolt ,1 rotorspring ,2 index ball springs ,2 -2,5 mm balls 1 pelletfeed rotor .1 mag body .1 maglid. more you not need.

    Can you do a video on the decibel and overall noise of the impact. I'm in Canada and we have the same silencer laws here. All the reviews on sound are of the baffled barrel version so I'm curious just how loud it really is before I buy. Thanks

    • @meatheadmarksman2013
      @meatheadmarksman2013  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can make them very quiet if you have a long barrel and shoot them at lower velocity. They are not quiet at full power tho. 750fps and below Very quiet, 750 to 850 louder but still pretty manageable, 850 to 1000fps is not quite as loud as a subsonic 22 but still too loud for the backyard

    Those prices are ridiculous and absurd. One of the best budget video camera (heavy duty) tripods on the market today is the Kingjoy VT-1500 which can be purchased just about anywhere on the planet for under 100 USD. If you feel you need "the best" with a ball mount and magnesium alloy, then the K&F TM2534T can be had for under 150 USD. The prices being charged by DT simply proves the old adage that there's a sucker born every minute.
