    Good morning Claire🤗 I’m so excited for your list! Velvet orchid is lovely! I did not know the les gourmande has a fig note! Love fig 😊 Cerruti is one of my favorites! Lovely lineup

    Pining for spring here in NE Ohio, but like you, am still dusting off the fresher scents in my small collection. I also really love Lovefest Burning Cherry. I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how many Kayali fragrances I really enjoy. For spring I love a good lily-of-the-valley in anything-so fresh. Aerin’s Mediterranean Honeysuckle also does the trick for spring, as does Eau de Vert Bohème from Tom Ford. Stay warm and enjoy your weekend, Claire!

      Yes, Kayali have some nice ones. I can't wait for the weather to get nicer now. Some warmth would be very welcome. Lotv is an excellent choice for spring, really pretty! I hope you have a great Sunday 🥰

    Heliotrope is the only one I love out of the three Reminiscence fragrances from the same line. The other two don't last on me. I absolutely adore Narciso Ambree! 😍It's one of my husband's favorites from my collection! ❤I love any fragrance with frangipani! 😍

    I’m definitely feeling the pull of Spring; altho we’re still buried quite deep in snow, and like you, and have seen snow fall every week. I’ve been finding myself perusing my ‘green, fresh’ perfume trays & wanting to layer them over my warmer/medium depth perfumes to brighten-up. Kind of cool to explore this layering a bit, but I’m not very practiced so it’s a work in progress, for sure. Thanks for sharing, your videos always spark my curiosity & creativity❤

    • @dr.claire.perfume

    Spring is so random where I live! We keep having lovely, sunny thaws, then quick cold snap and snow! I thought we were done with the freezing so I purchased chicks (which I usually raise in my garage), and then we got another cold snap and I had to bring them in to my music studio. I love the selections you have here, I will have to try Perles de Lalique!

    I get so many compliments when I wear Cerruti 1881, Narciso Rodriguez Ambrée is wonderful for spring, I have a sample of it and I'm considering to buy it soon🧡 it's such a creamy, lovely and sensual scent. Le Jardin de Monsieur Li is a good one, green, lemony, my husband loves it, he finds it elegant 😊
    Signorina Ribelle is so sweet, I get red fruits(not listed though) and coconut, a youthful beautiful fragrance 😍
    Have a happy evening my beautiful friend !

    I would really like to try velvet orchid as the original black orchid is one of my favourite perfumes. In Corfu where I had lived for two years they make a wonderful liqueur off qumquats. The whole island is kind of famous about it actually. I hope you get some settled spring weather soon. In Greece spring has definitely come.

    Thanks for your video Claire!
    It sounds like you are really enjoying your birthday fragrance.
    The Velvet Orchid does smell more everyday wearable than the Black Orchid.
    I too enjoy florals for Spring. When ever it finally arrives... It's pretty cold here. There is still ice and snow everywhere.
    Today is supposed to be 'National Perfume Day'? A sale came up at one of my favourite perfume shops and I decided to get a fragrance I tested that gives me Spring and Summer vibes. Zoologist Cockatiel. It's kind of aldehydic and sharp on initial spray with notes of rhubarb, raspberry and champagne. I found the opening uplifting and effervescent. Then it settles into a softly powdery, vanillic, heliotrope through the mid. It is supposed to have some patchouli and guaiac wood in the base, but to my nose it's pretty light on those dark sounding base notes. It's modern and vintage at the same time. Soft and pretty without being immature. I will wear it when I want a cheerful fragrance. I don't have too many fruity fragrances and the fruit notes do eventually dissipate. But one needs to like vanilla to enjoy this fragrance because it is the most prominent note along with the powdery quality.
    Have a great day and take care!
    💛~ Jenn

      @dr.claire.perfume  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ooh cockatiel! I've not tried that one, I've tried hummingbird and I might be reviewing harvest mouse soon if I do a collab with some other channels, not sure if that's going ahead yet... Zoologist strike me as a very interesting brand. Cockatiel sounds gorgeous, I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for watching Jenn! ❤️ Hope you have a fab week!

    Hi Claire ❤ I appreciate that you considered the metamorphosis of Springtime from cold to very warm 😊 Eau So Decadent sounds right up my alley❣️ Ozonics/Aquatics usually appeal to me. By any chance have you tried Thé Yulong from Armani Prive? I've been secretly reaching for it now that Spring is in the air...It has to be a secret because I got so many perfumes for my birthday that if I wear any scent not gifted to me in the last month someone is bound to get butthurt 😅😂

    • @dr.claire.perfume
      @dr.claire.perfume  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, from what I know of your taste, I think you'd like Eau so decadent. I've not tried thé yulong, I've tried the gardenia and the jasmine fragrances only from that line, I will add it to my list of things to check out. And yeah same, my birthday was at the end of February, and burning cherry was a gift that I got but I also bought velvet orchid and have been obsessed 🙊

    I wore Eau so Decadent today! I'm so glad you introduced me to it. It was warm this morning and I went for it, and it was so wonderful (I had forgotten how good it was as I had not worn it since last summer). The afternoon was very rainy and it just worked so well. Can still smell it on myself now.
    I really enjoyed the sample of Le Jardin de Monsieur Li you sent. I might have to pick that one up too, it's lovely and not a typical citrus.
    I'm glad you are enjoying Perles de Lalique 💕

    • @dr.claire.perfume
      @dr.claire.perfume  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eau so decadent is one that I always come back to every spring. It's just so refreshing but enveloping too. Icy and clean and fresh and even grey green.
      Monsieur li I wasn't sure about to begin with, but it's grown on me massively, I felt like it wasn't me, actually though, it's nice to wear something different.

    I love Monsieur Li! The kumquat is wonderful. They’re a great fruit to eat if you haven’t-makes you feel a bit like you’re a giant, eating these little citrus fruits whole with skin on. At first I ignored this one, thinking it was too much like Sur le Nil, but it really isn’t at all. There’s something a little fuzzy about it that I really like too.
    OK, I’m digging out my Eau So Decadent decant to test again now for the first time since 2021. Spring is coming.

    • @dr.claire.perfume
      @dr.claire.perfume  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Margo! I really wasn't sure about Monsieur li to begin with but it's really grown on me. Not necessarily me but something a bit different... Eau so decadent is probably my favourite Marc Jacobs fragrance. I like the freshness and it's long lasting. 🥰

    • @margoess
      @margoess ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I remember it being more green and watery fresh the last time I tried, and today it seemed super sweet 🤔
      I love many of the Signorina line, but I can’t decide on Ribelle. There is something slightly frosty that makes me think of ice cream in a pleasant way… But maybe the coconut and/or musks sometimes rub me the wrong way? I haven’t tried it in warmer weather yet though, so maybe that will be the trick…

    • @dr.claire.perfume
      @dr.claire.perfume  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sweet? Ooh maybe the pear or blackcurrant?
      Ribelle does have something that is clearly meant to be ice cream but I can't really say it smells like or feels like ice cream to me if that makes any sense. Maybe it's the slightly grainy musk that you don't love? The drydown is not entirely smooth for me.

  • @trex3139

    From your list I tried Le Jardin de Monsieur Li, I actually owned it , but I think I didn't try it enough in different weather, so when I did try it it didn't project enough. So I sold it. Today was also the first day I selected my spring list. And wore Jo Malone Mimosa and Cardamom. For Jo Malone it surprisingly lasts.

    • @dr.claire.perfume
      @dr.claire.perfume  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've not tried mimosa and cardamom, I will check it out, I love cardamom! I agree that I think Monsieur li actually works best in slightly cooler spring than perhaps in summer. I think it might struggle in really hot weather. Thanks for watching ❤️ happy spring 😊

    I'm a little late to the party, but at least I'm writing this on the first night of Spring:) I've been reviewing what purchases I've made from last year up to the present and I've come up with a list of candidates -- either because of their green, spring floral or aquatic notes. My traditional Spring perfumes are L' Air du Temps and Champs-Elysees; that will never change.
    Creed's Silver Mountain Water (Dossier dupe Musky Green Tea). Sparkling, just like its name. How did they do that?
    Apres L' Ondee -- Guerlain. The magical one. Delicate, ephemeral; iris, violet and heliotrope are woven throughout. It's often been compared to a Monet painting. Seems to evoke emotions and memories. A twin sister of L' Heure Bleue, which is my perfect late Autumn fragrance.
    Gramercy Park by Bond No. 9. Probably the "greenest" fragrance I've ever had. I'm familiar with the actual Gramercy Park and the fragrance is a perfect evocation of it.
    Black Opium Illicit Green -- A different kind of "green" take on the original. You wouldn't expect it to work with the Black Opium DNA, but it does. It's the fig leaf, pear and green mandarin top notes that set the stage.
    Muguet by Guerlain; original formula recreated in Dua's "Divine Green". With lily-of-the-valley in top, middle and base notes, supported by lemon, freesia, rose, iris and ylang-ylang.
    Iris Gris (1946) / L’ Iris de Fath by Jacques Fath (2023) Dua's take on the original and recent reformulation is called "Holy Grail" because the original was said to the greatest iris fragrance.
    From discovery sets:
    Narcisse Taiji by Atelier Materi -- Love that prominent Narcissus with hay scent.
    En Passant by Frederic Malle -- I sometimes find lilac to be too cloying, but here it is paired with some watery notes as well as cucumber, wheat and petitgrain. Light and delightful.
    Nuit de Bakelite by Naomi Goodsir (Love that name). A niche use of green notes, angelica, tuberose and artemisia along with some unusual suspects. Perfect in the spring air.

    Hi Claire
    I have Eau so Decadent and I agree it is a bit green. I don’t love it. I blazed through it because it is quite light and fresh. I have a little left. For me it is a bit meh.
    I have used un jardin sur le nil. I loved it. We have discussed Cerutti and it is a beautiful fragrance but I think I might have used enough of it for this life and the next.
    I have no idea what I plan to use this summer. I may revisit D&G light blue or Estée Lauder Pleasures - though the latter is quite a loud one.
    I do want to smell cool and fresh and leave the warm fragrances for cold weather 😊.
    Lovely vid - as usual.

    Love your spring fragrance choices Claire. I'm tempted to test the Hermes one, it sounds perfect for the season. A Kumquat note is unusual. I purchased Soleil de Capri by Montale recently and it's my first fragrance with a kumquat note. Makes a change from the more usual citrus scents.

    Hi Claire! I think I'll actually like Le Jardin de Monsieur Li. When I saw you talking about it, I actually went to my decants waiting for testing and tried. Looks promissing. I really enjoyed wearing Un Jardin sur le Toit last Summer, but the Un Jardin sur la Lagune had a ''blood smell to it''. I think it's the salt or magnolia note that smelt weird on my skin. Magnolia is a tricky note for me sometimes.
    I'm a huge fan of lilac in Spring though. Love Dama Bianca and A Drop d'Issey to name two.

    Yes Winter never ever ends these days. Claire I don't like it 😂
    Velvet Orchid is a really nice one, I do enjoy it and yes the happy version. You smell awesome in Black Orchid though.
    Burning Cherry is rather very lovely like a cherry rose incense. Rather unique and lovely.
    That heliotrope one is quote nice, a touch almondy for me by the end but lovely
    Yes no violet in it 😅 very carrot seed but not too bad actually very comfy and snuggly isn't it. Definetly one that would suit you.
    Even Eau so Decandant Eau not so likely. The original wasn't my favourite. I'm saying that, have i tried this one? Maybe
    The next one sounds somewhat interesting and citrus and resins definitely sounds good for our "spring" with a floral wateriness. Whst am I saying didn't I try this one and really quite like it? My mind isn't working today.
    The pearl d lalique is really rather lovely isn't it. And I'd say yes your description is really good for it.
    My sister has that Ceruti and yes it's simple but lovely isn't it.
    The NR I don't think I'd sniffed that? I keep saying that. I'm sure with that one tho. It's does sound nice.
    And the last one. First what's up with a stinky Ylang-ylang Claire 😱 love it. And loved the Italian.

      I really don't love velvet orchid like black orchid but it's definitely more suitable for spring and it's work friendly. I don't think black orchid would feel right at work. I've been wearing that and burning cherry a lot recently. Completely neglecting other stuff... The excitement of new fragrances.
      I was quite surprised that you liked violet Ida. I don't think you would like Eau so decadent, and I'm not sure I've sent you any because of that...
      I sent you Monsieur li recently, with the Tom ford and the sugared patchouli, so yes you probably tried it? I didn't think it was me really but the scent itself, I enjoy.
      I really like Perles de Lalique 😊 considering people called it a midnight poison dupe, I was shocked when I really didn't think it was 🤣
      If I didn't send you ambrée, I will do, but I don't remember...
      Any yes you know what, I love some stinky ylang ylang now, but there was certainly a time when I didn't, just hadn't sniffed very much I think and I associated it with old school Chanel etc.
      You might smell amazing in Luna, I mean, I doubt I'd be able to smell it 🤣 but the juniper is so so good
