She is so true and adorable. as a woman too, I can say she is the kind of woman who makes you have this hidden feeling, when you watch her, or desire, not of being her, but of being 'like' her. She has that beauty and charm that comes from warmth and tenderness, even a sort of childish innocence, as if she hadn't experience, or consciousness of the evil; but at the same time you feel the strength, determination, intelligence, and all of that wrapped in a special grace, in that smile. Sort of essence of the feminine. Quite unique. I wish I was a director just to direct her😆
This was after the Oscars..( ..But every now and then they used to have their ceremony before the american academy ..).BAFTA changed its ceremony date in the year 2001, in order to have more relevance and to be the last major precursor award prior to the Academy Awards
It was because of the poor reception of the 1992 adaptation of Wuthering Heights and her performance in it. She was harshly criticised for her accent, playing a British woman, and there was generally a lot of unfavourable feedback. Ironically, she starred opposite Ralph Fiennes there as well. But regardless, she was great in the English Patient and I'm glad she made amends with Britain, haha.
Diego Pisfil Perhaps a lifetime achievement Oscar, but not for her role in The Mirror H2 Faces. Bacall had one key scene in that film, while Binoche played a range of emotions throughout The English Patient and her character Hannah was the heart of the film.

She's so adorable. I love her!
So movingly tender she's touching.
She served some looks on that Award Season, didn't she? What an icon!
I just realized that the person presenting the BAFTA, is Gary Oldman.
One of the finest actresses of world cinema ❤
The finest!
That's the single most adorable thing I've ever seen
She is amazing
Bacall pulled the same face when she lost the Oscar, haha.
Love her so much 🖤
Era una bebé🤧
I love her but I wanted Marianne Jean-Baptiste to win so bad. She is by far the most underrated actress I've ever seen.
Great actress indeed. Does anyone know if this was before or after she winning the Oscar?
It was after ;)
@@GregoryChantier Thanks, Gregory. 😃
Was this before or after she won the Oscar?

Is there an specific reason why she had the impression England didn't liked her ?

@@georg_couch i thought it was cuz she had beaten Baccall at the Oscars.
@@nitpicker12 that was quite the surprise at the time (thank god it happened though), but why would it mean England didn't like her?
Maybe because she's French and nobody likes the French? 🤣
@@georg_couch prolly she thought she let england down with wuthering height and her english accent
She beat Lauren Bacall, dudes...THE Lauren Bacall, hello? Holy sh$%! 😳😳😳😳
Who’s Lauren Bicall?
It was all downhill really after she beat Bacall at the Oscars before that. Come on..
@@alisdairmckenzie meeeh, I guess...
Lauren Bacall should have won
