A particularly adorable version of their melancolic evergreen, Yuko and Asa singing together under the umbrella, always so cute and heartwarming (the 2016 version from Austin TX, where the 8 stand squeezed together on a 4m2 -felt- stage is really impressive too!). I've never seen a band being on this nonstop highest level as performers and songwriters during 10 years, while developping further. Of course I hoped, they will continue for a long time after their 8th anniversary tour named Infinity. Thank you Mr. Frank for introducing and always sharing with us this unique treasure in music, the divine Wagakki Band.
Thank you Mr.FG for 2nd up!! Yesterday, I participated in the 2024 Grand New Year's Party. It was really good, but Princess Yuuko, who appeared in the encore, announced that WGB would only be active for the rest of the year and would be on hiatus from next year. The audience was in a state of turmoil. It seems that they are going on an indefinite hiatus, and this year's nationwide live show will likely be their last.
@@BlowBow2 I saw them last year and Yuko made similar comments, wondering if she wanted to continue doing it forever apparently (my friend was translating them for me so I'm not 100% sure). That said, all of them have their own side projects they're likely looking to work on. Beni and Machiya have Shirafu, Yuko and a few others have Hanafungetsu, and I think the others have some solo projects as well. Yuko in particular seems to love doing collabs with classical music and has some Japanese folk songs she's played on her channel.
@@tavn1698 Yuko was pregnant in 2022 and gave birth in the middle of her tour. In fact it's the very one in this video. That was expected, but she had some rare complications and they had to finish the tour without her, so if you look hard enough you can find videos of Beni, Asa and Machiya singing instead of Yuko on TH-cam. I saw them in September 2023, so this was a bit after that. That said, I can imagine she may not have wanted to tour while pregnant and that may have had an impact on her wanting to go on with the band.
Nice job Frank, as usual. Such a great song about such a sad story. Of all of WGB's performances of Yoshiwara Lament, my favorite will always be the 2018 performance in Yokohama, I believe it's Oto No Kairo. Asa deserves much kudos for this song and his video done with Sachiko Kobayashi is just epic in every way. Much kudos to you also Frank, your work is greatly appreciated by untold numbers of WGB fans, myself included.
I just read that at the end of 2024 WGB is taking an undetermined beak to focus on their individual careers. Sounds like they could be apart for much longer than a year. Let hope they make a lot of new music this year.
The best japanese band 🎸👍
there can not be enough renditions of Yoshiwara Lament, it,s testament to how incredibly well this band plays together.
Thanks for the upload.

Oh god... I just found them a couple of months ago and they are going on a hiatus next year? Such a shame.

@@TheDirtysouthfan I thought last year was because Yuko was pregnant. This time will be different I think.

This is such an iconic song for Wagakki Band. Wonderful performance. 😇🙏🏼
2025年から無期限活動停止と言う事で、この動画を見ると、余計寂しいですが、再び、個々が、パワーアップして集合した和楽器バンドを見てみたいですね👍
It's bittersweet to have followed them for almost ten years and realizing they're not reaching 2025 😥 but family comes first and it should always be
Are they gonna disband?
Ive been a wagakki fan since 2016 sad im to late to find their music wayback.
i'm gonna miss this guys so much :((
