I love what they're doing in Orlando and the culture Coach Mo has developed. They have a bunch to spend in cap but it's delicate on who they bring in with this young, tight knitted group. Anfernee Simons... Mikel Bridges isn't happy in Brooklyn and would be amazing with the Magic. Daniel Gafford if Dallas doesn't hold onto him would be exactly what they need at the 5. Klay, PG, and especially Trae Young would be poison to this group. Paolo is the star.. Make the right moves and Orlando is a legit contender
My top trade targets that are possibly on the block are: 1. CG Anfernee Simons - Blazers. 2. G/F Mikal Bridges - Nets 3. PG Trae Young - Hawks 4. PG Darius Garland - Cavs. I would add both Simons and Bridges, but definitely Simons, if possible and use Cole Anthony, Jett Howard, Caleb Houstan, and lots of draft compensation as collateral while trying to keep our frontcourt intact and our 2 young defensive backcourt studs in Suggs and Black. Man, the Magic really could have done so much better than Howard at 11 last year. He will be good, but not as good as a few other guys taken after him. My top 3 prospects on the board at 11 were 1. Jordan Hawkins (the game of a young Klay Thompson in the body of a young Kerry Kittles) 2. Grady Dick 3. Keyonte George. In hindsight my top 2 picks would have been 1. Hawkins and 2. George (who proved to be a far better playmaker and passer than I thought, allowing him to play as a tall PG instead of an average height ball dominant SG). In this year's draft the Magic have pick 18 and the 5 players I most like that could be there at 18 or available with a small trade up to 12 -15 are: 1. PG Jared McCain - Duke (being criminally undervalued and has a game similar to a young Steph Curry - can play point, shoot the lights out of the ball with deep range and will be in constant motion when the ball is not in his hands) 2. C Kal'el Ware - Indiana (Similar body type, athletic profile, and game to Sarr. Has a good shot with range, good rebounder and shot blocker, has some post up moves and is a really good passer) 3. PF Tyler Smith - G League Ignite (a cross between Bam Adebayo and Kevin Durant - not saying on that level, but is very bouncy and is a good shot blocker at 6'9" with long arms and a sweet looking jumper with deep range. Is a great lob threat and cutter to the basket as well) 4. CG Carlton "Bub" Carrington - Pitt (has a really good all around game, plays with pace and can run the show as a tall PG with a solid shooting stroke, good handles and good passing - good defender as well) 5.SF Tristan Da Silva - Colorado (tall, long, and thin with a sweet shooting stroke from deep and good all around game) There are others that would be solid picks as well, but these are my favorite. My free agent targets would be as follows and depending on what trades and or draft picks are made: 1. CG Malik Monk - Kings 2. SG Gary Trent, Jr. - Raptors 3. CG Isaiah Likely - Raptors 4. PG Tyus Jones - Wizards 5. SF Patrick Williams - Bulls. I do not want to sign players in their mid to late 30s - that's a different timeline than the one we are working on now. Our core is too young and should only be looking to sign players in their 20s to early 30s. If we are able to say, in some fantasy get both Simons and Bridges in trade, keep our frontcourt intact, keep our 2 young defensive backcourt studs in Suggs and Black, then, and only then, would I consider signing Klay Thompson or Paul George to provide the veteran leadership needed in the playoffs, but would still prefer to sign the lesser, but much younger, Gary Trent, Jr. in that case.
I think jett will be pretty good but they definitely couldve used a keyonte george or jordan hawkins, i think Jordan is going to be very good at least offensively. Ultimately they have a lot of room to make some moves & propel their team to finals contenders
Trae all day he gives us everything scoring all three levels passing solid dribbling the only is his defense but if we get a rim protector. Suggs next to him

Imagine what he can do with our squad and also making them better. Because defenses would have to really worry where he is on the floor leaving polo and franz Suggs cutting or open for a shot plus him poalo on pick and rolls. Franz cutting to finish at basket without all the dribbling before driving to basket. People sleep on franz finish capabilities
Trae is not coming to this team... AB is our future pg, and trae takes the ball out of paolos hands... His no defense hurts as well, as he won't even play on our team... He won't see the court... Terrible fit, and a foul hunting shot chucker... Really tired of this take

I’m a fan of trae and I believe he’d make them better but I do like Anthony Black a lot. He showed good flashes last year and I wouldn’t be upset if they just rolled with him as the starter. Regardless they need to add some firepower that can space the floor to take pressure off Paolo/Franz
Weltmann in the exit interviews definitely hinted that moving forward is not going to include anybody that shocks the culture they've built. Defense is still the identity... No Klay, No PG.. Anfernee Simons would be great, but we're gonna have to give up somebody unfortunately that most likely include Cole Anthony.. Love WCJ, but I don't think he's best moving forward.. Gary Harris should be first man out in my opinion.. As far as shooting what they've kept a secret having him the G-League is how well Jett Howard is going to play a role. Markelle Fultz is tough because I feel for the dude with his injury reputation and inability to shoot but no team is going to be throwing him anything special. Sign him for pennies and he's a decent 3rd string.. Mo Wagner, love him and the energy he brings and keep Franz happy with keeping his brother.

Mac is definitely explosive but the g league hasnt exactly proven that its MVP can stay in the NBA, last decent g league mvp that became anything decent was Paul Reed in 2020
