When I was a kid taking guitar lessons, another lucky kid turned up in my class with one of these. I’d never seen anything like it before. Very cool guitars
@@nihilist92 been there man, lol. I remember in high school, a guy had just got one, and he brought it to show it off. I stopped him in the lunch room and asked could I see it. He had the big schecter case with the blue lining. I remember picking it up and being disappointed his parents got him the standard instead of the custom 🤣 at the time I think the only model you could get was the black w/silver stripes
I'd recommend this guitar to anyone and everyone, whether you're a A7X fan or not. They play great sitting, or standing, super comfortable. If you can get your hands on one, give it a try!
Hey man, good video, I actually tested a custom s model on a guitar center and immediately fell in love with it. The only concern I have is with the Sustainiac pickup, reading a particular comment seems some guitars have issues with it, I'm trying to decide between the satin gold version of the custom s or an ESP LTD EC-1000, 'cuz Floyd Roses can be a pain in the ass sometimes hehe cheers
Thanks! Both the Syn and the LTD Ec 1000 are killer guitars. You couldn't go wrong with either. If you're not a big floyd guy, go with the Ec1000. Honestly tho, floyd's aren't that bad to deal with. Once you get them dialed in, they stay put. Especially if you keep the same string gauge and tuning on them. If you want a SYN, but don't want the floyd, try the SYN HT custom
I just bought 2 of these last month, waiting to get them. One of them is the Custom HT which was a brand new and the other one is a used 2011 Custom which is White with black pinstripes. I really hope I find a Dark Earth model in the future since I don’t have a Sustaniac version yet…
Thanks for the video man. I've been wanting one since they took them out long ago lol but I got my eye on that black and gold Custom-S since I do not mind the Floyd. I am curious to see those new headless models that are supposed to come be announced later this month even though I wont get one lol
@@claudeman you're welcome man! The gold with stripes one is killer. I've actually got one for sale, if you're interested. I've seen some sneak peeks at the new headless ones. They look pretty cool
I got a 2016 Satin Gold Burst Custom-S used for $700. Had to sell it to make rent. I’m still itching like a fiend to get another one sometime around the end of the year. Was a dream guitar since I started playing and listening to metal, but it exceeded any expectations I had for it. Played like butter (nah, silk), was comfortable, the 1500 floyd stayed in tune, one of the most comfortable necks I’ve played on (close tie between that and the Dimebag neck for number one).
I hope and pray you get to get you another one before the end of year! What you said is spot on. These guitars will surprise you once you play one, of how good they are
Hey man, great video. I happen to have a question. When engaging the sustainiac on the gold model (post 2018), does it work on the 4th String? I tried 5 diff guitars, 2023 and 2024 and all had this issue where the 4th string wouldn't work on the middle position with the sustainiac. It's NBD and i settled with one, sometimes it works but most of the time, that particular position on the 4th string just doesn't work so wanted to check if it was normal or a new thing with newer models. Cheers!
@DeweyJHall1 entire string, worst part is that I found this issue with 5 different guitars (all the same model). I contacted Sustainiac folks and their answer was something along the lines of "we didn't know if we should've kept that mode anyways". So I wanted to check with someone else who has the same guitar to see if it's a new production issue or what exactly. Note that a while ago I was able to get it to randomly work but it normally just doesnt. I mute all strings and only ring it open and it doesn't work :(
Hey Dewey, been watching you for a while bud, good stuff! Question on the Syn Customs - how do these compare to premium / prestige Ibanez RGs (if you own any)? Cheers!
@@P1nkman thanks for being a long time viewer and sticking around! I've got no experience with any of those currently. I've owned other ibanez models. I'd put a Syn Custom up against any guitar honestly. They are one of the best guitars in production in my opinion.
