    Thanks I’m going to try this out I’ve been struggling to get the “perfect “ setting it seems I either get it super grabbie or 6” of creep

    Not related to adjustment. But have you tried a dmm grommet in the carabiner hole. It fits perfectly tight and orients the carabiner with no wobble. It improves the handling of the device significantly.

    The Akimbo is definitely a picky device, especially when it comes to rope. Cousin Atrax / Flow and Drenaline are my favorites, but Bluemoon flattens and creeps.

      Yes it seems to do better with ropes that maintain their shape

      What's your weight and akimbo setting? I'll go down on a descent and towards the end it'll slip

      @em0p0ny Currently 140lbs and running the Akimbo on Flow. The top is adjusted all the way tight, and the bottom is two notches looser. Tachyon and Control also work well with the Akimbo. General rule of thumb is to run the top adjustment one or two tighter than the bottom.

    What one do you like better akimbo or rope runner pro. You should do a comparison. Thanks for all the helpful videos. Very helpful

      Akimbo, less goofy on and off the rope, easy to adjust

    When you get into an extra pitchy tree with your Akimbo, once it gets to the point of being uncooperative do you do anything to clean it up afterwards or during? Or do you readjust it? I find I have to give up on it for the rest of the day. Could be my rope device combo..? I climb a ton of firs, and they’re real sappy, especially in the tops where I can’t help but get squirted by pitch pimples with every movement.

      Yes I will just switch devices to a zigzag or Rope runner pro when it gets sappy, it’s worthless when the rope has much pitch on it.

      I think the unicender is the best thing for pitch/sap

    Hi.
    Has the lock of your Akimbo been damaged where the carabiner hook for lifting the device was attached?
    Because it hangs down, it doesn't close ...

    • @Stridertrees
      @Stridertrees  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can close but it stays open sometimes... it’s not broken but not totally functional ;)

      Thank you for your response.
      Maybe it's resin and tree sap? they are to blame for it?

      The most difficult part of adjusting RRpro is getting the wrench to seat in the hardware.
