My mother has a HUGE tree in her backyard that needs trimming, so I'm going to climb it and trim it myself. With my Master's degree in tree climbing from TH-cam University, I know I'm ready for the task at hand. *Kidding, not kidding, but this video has been a substantial help in deciding the type of gear I'll need. University is free, but the price of the gear is like paying tuition.
more important than anything, is trimming the tree properly and you’re definitely not going to learn that from any tree channel on youtube. they’re all tree killers, they only really know how to remove trees, have no clue how to properly trim or care for a tree.
Thank you so much I am a 63-year old tree man and I am just learning single rope technique again thank you for the advice and training on new types of gear....
Thanks so much for doing these. I’m an experienced entertainment rigger/climber. Holy cow what a different world. I just wanted to prune my oak safely with the gear I have. You saved me so many headaches. I love your business model! Big fan.
same here used spikes alot on the ROW w/DRT... im doing more Resi work now so SRT is where I'm heading. Just picked up a bit of gear and waiting due some more to arrive. Videos have been very helpful 🙌🏽
Nicely done. I thoroughly appreciate your approach to instruction. I’m a recreational climber, and I’m all the better due to your generosity. Thank you. David
Your videos are amazing... I own some acres in WA and have tree issues that I'm always dealing with the "hard way" so I'm extremely grateful for your magnificent videos... quick question, though... HOW did you get the ropes up in the tree before the start of this video? Surely there's a video for that... please point the way, Jedi tree master!
I wouldn't necessarily recommend telling people they don't need to know knots, if that breaks while you're up in the tree and you don't know knots you're kinda messed up.
Excellent video. For once somebody explains it well and is able to talk clearly to the camera while still going up. I watch all these because Im teaching my 3 grandsons to climb. I'm too old to climb anymore (73) but with all this cool gear even I can still do it. Thanks.
Just tried it for the first time today and it’s way harder than just pulling yourself up drt with your feet on the tree. Definitely something you’d have to get used to and train your muscles for.
for sure, there is a learning curve that has to be overcome, but it is more efficient as one gets more proficient especially for LONG ascents. the advantages diminish with shorter climbs
What chest harness is that? Every site I look at has one or two options and nothing nearly as nice or comfortable as what you’re wearing in this video. Also, why is the base anchor necessary versus throwing a running bowline up to a fat branch? I understand the need to have it be a able to *bear double your weight, but if you get two or three guys to test it on the line, why not? Great videos all around. Thank you.
Great video! Why do many attach a chicanne to the mecanical prusic if its not necesary? Are Eucaliptus branches safe to pass lines or they are usually weak? Thanks in sdvance!!
Hey buddy can you give me your opinion I'm new to the hitch climber setup what is your opinion for the best climbing rope to use and the best eye to eye hitchcord what millimeter goes best together thank you
Looks like he has a base anchor at the bottom of the tree. So the rope goes up and over a crotch or limb and chocked at the base of the tree usually with a bowline.
Did you wear your helmet for the videos? I just want to make you safe at night. Wow you made a prussik knot out of metal? how much do you want for that? Also I could never figure out how to add the second prussik for my foot so I need the metal one. Also why are you a shill?
Can you imagine if you were to do a video like you just did and then show a video about what mechanical devices do...... #zrunner #zrunnerselfrescuesystem #zrunnersrs Is the product that is the best well thought product outside of it being the strongest for mechanical devices.. I have The Sweet spot for 8 mm of rope to 13 mm of rope on the strongest mechanical device ever built my device might look like others but the United States patents and trades Mark office would have never given me the green light if I was to have stolen somebody's product now that we've gotten that out of the air I would like to know if you'd be interested in doing a review on my product
If your Zrunner works on 8mm rope in SRT I’d love to try it, that’s a particular deficiency of every other one I’ve tried, and I’ve got an invention myself that I’d like to be able to use smaller ropes with

How HUGE was this tree?
@@lizardking2716about to do one that is 100 to 120ft tall. Should be fun.

Next thing you’ll do is have a TH-cam channel!🤪

I'm going to start climbing this spring. your videos have been apart of my education. I've only met a few other Josiah's in my life.
What this guy's name is Josiah?
I’ve been climbing for about 3 years on DRT I’ve been looking at srt I like your insight keep up the great work 🤘👍
You’ll be glad you learned! It’s much easier on the body!

Very clearly demonstrated, thank you Strider.

I appreciate your hard work in the videos we been looking around and you ARE amazing me and my wife just subscribed.
Thanks for your informative video. They're much appreciated.
Thankyou for another great video. Your tips help me to be a better rec. climber..👍🏻🇺🇸🇨🇦👍🏻
Great overview video! Thanks
Best simple explanation of srt i have seen 👍
That was very helpful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

Thank you for showing us.
Climbing Innovations knee and foot ascenders are the best on the market.

Great video
I am using the chicane also and i am verder satisfied
Great video! Been waiting a while for this! Do you have any videos on andvancing a anchor point using srt?
hi, thanks for all your videos. I've subscribed on your website so I can get info on the course.
Great video! Why do many attach a chicanne to the mecanical prusic if its not necesary?

Hey buddy can you give me your opinion I'm new to the hitch climber setup what is your opinion for the best climbing rope to use and the best eye to eye hitchcord what millimeter goes best together thank you
i missed the part where the top of the rope is attached high up in the tree
Looks like he has a base anchor at the bottom of the tree. So the rope goes up and over a crotch or limb and chocked at the base of the tree usually with a bowline.
He didn't show anything like that...guess I'll see ya on the way down😂
I'm 70 years old, and I understood
you should try a half hitch above your running bowline for your basal tie, never ever creeps up the trunk…..ever.
Thank you! Can you teach how to set up the climbing rope in SRT?
I believe I’ve got a couple videos on that subject :)
RRP and drenaline is a great combo. Also do you have your leg straps loosen a lot on your treerex?
Never could have guessed there is a tree climbing community out there
I've spent most of my career climbing MRS in conifers. I know you can decend a spar in SRT, but can I ascend a conifer in SRT?
You certainly can! Just use a retrievable choking method. There are several, and you’ll be able to get your rope back :)
First time i saw a colleague rope walking i felt like a caveman watching someone riding a bike.
Did you wear your helmet for the videos? I just want to make you safe at night. Wow you made a prussik knot out of metal? how much do you want for that? Also I could never figure out how to add the second prussik for my foot so I need the metal one. Also why are you a shill?
How do you trim palm trees? I have very tall palm trees?
You have a foot ascended, kneed ascended and what's the name of the main piece you're using tie to your harness.
Bridge and chest harness
A multi sender ...assender desender
Could you just use two foot assenders?
So I just went and got rope wrench and everything to go with it wish I could post pictures
Awesome 👏🏽 I’d love to see it, HMU on Instagram @tree_strider
In your opinion what's the best rope for srt using zigzag and ascenders?
Drenaline or petzl flow ,and vortex...
👍
adding torque * not friction, sorry brother
great video though
The camera should be zoom in on the subject not the speaker. If you really wants to sell what you're selling. Thanks a bunch

Learn and climb with your knots because all that stuff will fail
